But the story that I wanted to talk about is something that I've wanted to talk about

since February, but then everything started to pop off in Syria.

But I want to go and talk about what I initially wanted to talk about, which were the 70 beheaded

Christians in Congo.

And so the thing about this story is it's been, I guess you could call it criminally

underreported.

Because I would venture to guess that many of you were shocked just now when I talked

about the 70 people in Congo, the 70 Christians in the Congo that were beheaded because they

were Christians.

A lot of you didn't hear about that because it wasn't really covered anywhere in the mainstream

media.

So I want to go to a report from open doors from February the 25th and they have sources

on the ground on the Congo and they broke this horrific story and I'll put the link

in the show notes.

70 Christians have been found beheaded in a church in the Democratic Republic of Congo

that's DRC and what's the latest devastating attack on believers in the northeast of the

country.

According to field sources around four a.m. last Thursday, that's February the 13th suspected

militants from the allied Democratic forces, the ADF, a group with ties to the so called
6:37
Islamic State approach homes in myba in the territory of libero saying get out, get out

and don't make any noise.

20 Christian men and women came out and were captured shaken by this incident.

People from the local community in my bar later gathered to work out how to release those
6:52
held captive.

However, ADF militants surrounded the village and captured they further 50 believers.

All 70 of those kidnapped were taken to a Protestant church in Casanga where they were

tragically killed.

Field sources report that until yesterday, which was Tuesday the 18th of February.

Some families have not been able to bury their dead because of the insecurity in the area.

Many Christians have now fled the area for their safety.

This was not just an act of terror.

It was a targeted massacre of Christians and it will not stop here, says Iliad Dijadi,

senior analyst for freedom of religion or belief in sub-Saharan Africa for open doors.

The ADF is part of a growing extremist network that wants to wipe out Christianity in the

region.

If nothing is done, more attacks will follow.

This story is just on the heels of every other story we've talked about on this show.

The downstream actions of the so-called religion of peace.

Obviously, this is a horrific story, but it's unfortunately not an uncommon one in the current

day and age that we're living in.

There's an organization called A to the Church in Need.

It's a Catholic organization that helps persecuted Christians all over the globe.

What they do is they periodically release a report that gives the rest of the world an

idea of what's going on.

Their last report that they released was in June 22nd of 2023, so I'll link to it in

the show notes so you guys can read it all for yourself.

Here are some of the highlights or I guess you can call them lowlights, if you will.

There are more than 387 million Christians living in countries where religious freedom

does not exist or is outright attacked.

That's about 15% of the world's Christians.

About one in seven Christians may suffer from a form of real persecution.

This organization defines persecution in the following way.

This treatment, discrimination, oppression, or violence directed towards an individual

or communities who identify as Christians or follow the Christian faith.

It involves the infringement of their basic human rights, such as the freedom of worship,

expression, and assembly due to their religious beliefs and practices.

Most of the persecution comes from three main sources.

One, authoritarian governments, that's 49 countries.

Two, Islamic fundamentalists, that's 21 countries, and three, ethno-religious nationalists,

four countries.

Africa's most violent continent against Christians because of the adherence to fundamentalist

Islam.

Some claim that Christians are in worse conditions now in the Middle East than during the ISIS

occupation.

In Sri Lanka and India, Christians and their places of worship are attacked with impunity.

In Pakistan, Christians are routinely harassed and growing numbers of young Christian girls

are kidnapped, forcibly married to a Muslim and converted to Islam.

They are often raped as well.

Punishment for these crimes often takes years if it ever comes as authorities in Pakistan

are often apathetic to crimes against Christians.

In North Korea, Christians are either killed or held in labor camps.

In China, restrictions on public worship and internet are very harmful to Christians.

Churches are monitored and sometimes forcibly closed, plus it is illegal for anyone under

18 to attend church services.

Many Christians have been arrested and sentenced for unclear reasons.

They are often charged with fraud or creating trouble.

but it's very, very sobering.

Again, I was reading from the report for much of that if I forgot to say quote, unquote,

or whatever.

But that's where I was going to start my overall commentary.

And then last Friday, everything seemed to start popping off in the country of Syria.

So by Saturday, it was pretty clear that even though it was kind of hard to get an accurate

point from the report from the ground, that there was an active targeted genocide of minorities

in Syria.

Now, I have a handful of sources that go all the way to the grounds of Syria and all the
10:30
way up to the White House.

And as of the recording of this, I'm recording this Tuesday night.

There's not a whole lot of super reliable intel at the moment in terms of regions where

certain things are happening in terms of actual numbers.

The situation in Syria is very, very complicated.

It's been complicated and you can take that all the way back to the Old Testament.

It's been very, very complicated area.

And so I wanted to be able to give you guys some actual numbers.

But according to my sources on the ground, people that are saying that thousands of religious

minorities to include Christians are being slaughtered.

That's not quite accurate right now.
11:09
But it is certainly hundreds, which is absolutely horrific, right?
11:14
Every single one of those people being slaughtered right now, it's an absolute horrific tragedy.

But this is going to continue to unfold.

So I'm going to be continuing to follow this story and giving you guys updates.

But I did want to kind of give you guys a little bit of a brief history and I'm, you
11:28
know, taking a little bit of a risk here because anytime you go into a history of a very,
11:32
very rough part of the world with a lot of different influences, I, you know, can seem
11:37
like I'm flying too high over a situation, but I do want to kind of give you all a little
11:40
bit of a sense because most of us aren't following Syrian history.
11:44
But Bashar al-Assad, he ruled Syria for almost 24 years, okay?
11:47
So he ruled from July of the year 2000 until December, okay, December of 2024.
11:53
So he took power after the death of his father, Hafez al-Assad, who ruled Syria for 29 years.
11:58
So Assad, father, son has been ruling Syria since 1971 until just this past December,

okay?

Now, Assad, the, you know, the son Assad, Bashar al-Assad, he's a horrible, evil, terrible
12:11
person.
12:12
So, during the Syrian Civil War, which was, you know, 2011 to 2024, we know for a fact
12:19
that he used chemical weapons on his own people.
12:21
That was the supposed red line that Obama had for him and then he basically sat there
12:25
like a feckless turd and did nothing.
12:27
And then Assad carried out mass killings that deliberately targeted noncombatant civilians,
12:32
which included children.
12:34
He commanded the torture and execution of his opponents.
12:37
He used siege warfare and basically starvation tactics to cause civilians to submit in certain
12:42
areas of Syria.
12:44
And this led to roughly half of the Syrian population to flee and become refugees.
12:48
So that's like 14 million people, okay?
12:51
So his regime was overthrown in December of 2024 by the opposition forces.

So the main opposition force was Hayat Tari al-Sham, that's HTS for short.

So those are Sunni Muslims, which is a Turkish-backed Syrian national army, okay?

I know this is going to get a little bit convoluted, but, you know, just try to stick with me.

So HTS was founded by Abu Muhammad al-Jalani.

His real name is Ahmed Hussein al-Shahra.
13:17
So HTS evolved out of Japat al-Nusrah, which was formerly a part of al-Qaeda in Syria,

okay?

So they quickly captured, whenever they came in, they quickly captured a bunch of very
13:30
key Syrian cities and they ended up encircling Damascus where Assad was.
13:35
And this caused Assad to flee Syria and to go to Russia for asylum, and they were more
13:38
than happy to take him because they had been backing him the entire time.
13:41
So this led to the rise of Ahmed al-Shahra.
13:45
He's the jihadist leader of HTS to become serious president.
13:49
And the thing was, is when this happened, okay?
13:52
When there was a regime change in December, there were a lot of people, including Tulsi
13:56
Gabbard on the hill during her confirmation hearings that said, "Look, guys, it's about

to get really, really bloody, okay?

Really bloody."

Because even though Assad, and this is going to sound like, "Oh my gosh, he's pro Assad.

Just stick with me here."

Because I got to call balls and strikes here, Assad was a horrible, awful, terrible, evil

man, but there was relative order with certain groups.

So it wasn't like he was protecting the Christians in that country by, you know, having tanks

in front of their houses so that they couldn't be executed by Islamic Jihadists.

But there was order enough to where the Islamic Jihadists didn't try it as much as they would
14:32
have wanted to, okay?

And so that's not me saying that I wish Assad was back in and not these HTS guys.

Because guys, it's the difference between having a diarrhea sandwich on white and a diarrhea

sandwich on wheat.

Right?

That's basically what we're looking at.

It's terrible no matter what.

And that's essentially what you get in the Middle East is, you know, it's not always the

lesser of two evils, it's just which evil are we going to choose, right?

But on last Friday, so that's the 7th of March, we started seeing reports of mass killings

of multiple groups of people in Syria.

So we heard about the Druze.
15:04
So that's a religious and ethnic minority.

That's an offshoot of Ismali, Islam, and they make up about 3 to 4% of Syria's population.

So that's about 700,000 people.

So they're primarily concentrated near the border with Jordan.

So we saw some reports that they were being executed.
15:22
Then we have the Alawites.
15:23
And so that's a Shia group.
15:26
But some Shia scholars even don't consider them to be legit Muslims, but we don't really
15:30
have time to get into that today.
15:32
But they're about 10 to 15% of the Syrian population, so that's 2 to 3 million people.

They're mainly concentrated on the coastal mountains.
15:39
So Assad and his, you know, both father and son Assad, they were Alawites.
15:43
And the Assad regime elevated a lot of Alawites to high office, which created a lot of issues,
15:48
a lot of jealousy within the country, a lot of angst.

And many of those people are being murdered now because of retribution with the new party
15:55
that's in power.
15:56
Okay.

Then we have the Kurds.
15:58
So the Kurds are one of, if not the largest, stateless group in the world.

So that's about 10 to 15% of the Syrian population, about 2 to 3 million people.

And they've wanted their own land for, you know, a long, long time, Kurdistan, if you will,

which has led to conflict for them in a lot of countries.

So Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Syria, but during the Syrian civil war, they took advantage of the
16:20
chaos to kind of carve out their own territory in northeastern Syria.

But the new Sunni government has marginalized the Kurds and they've targeted a lot of them
16:28
for destruction.

So is another country, which we'll talk about here in a second.

And then we have the Christians.
16:33
So 5 to 10% of Syria, their population is Christian.
16:36
So that's one to 2 million people.
16:38
But there's a lot of different sects of Christianity in Syria.

So there's Syriac Orthodox and Catholic, there's Greek Orthodox and Catholics.

There's Maronite, there's Evangelical, there's Protestants kind of all over the place.

But under Assad, the Christians were, again, it'd be rough to call them protected, but
16:53
they were certainly tolerated, okay?
16:55
They weren't targeted in the way that they're being targeted now.

So Assad's government was more secular, as opposed to Islamist.

And so they didn't really care, you know, they weren't targeting Christians because
17:07
they had to get rid of the infidel, which is exactly what Islam teaches.

But during the Civil War, Christians were targeted by ISIS and other jihadist groups.

Christians were kind of caught in between, "Hey, do we support Assad or do we support
17:18
the rebels?"

Because some of Christians actually aligned with the Kurds.

So it was just kind of a mess for the Christians.

But many of the Christians during the Civil War fled to North America, to Europe, to Lebanon,

other places.

And what we've seen, again, it's hard to know for certain.

It's hard to know for sure.

We don't really have numbers.

But it seems like all those groups that are now minorities in Syria, they are being targeted.

There are reports on the ground, again, I'm trying to get full substantiation of entire

Christian families being slaughtered, entire Christian congregations being slaughtered.

Some people are like, "Hey, this isn't really like a, you know, this is more sectarian violence.

This isn't really violence from Muslims towards Christians because there are apostates."

That's precisely what this is.

They're taking advantage, HDS is taking advantage of this change in power to eradicate groups

that they think need to be eradicated, okay?

And there are a few other things that I did want to share, and, you know, I had to really

be careful with some of the information I've been getting to not violate any off-the-record

confidence in my sources.

But here are some things that have either come to fruition by the time you're listening

to this or likely will come to fruition.

The Turks are likely to enter this conflict to target the Kurds specifically for destruction.

So be watching for that.

Assad is not just going to go chill in Russia for the rest of his life.

It seems like he's wanting to come back into power and is still backed by Russia and likely
18:40
Iran as well.

There's been a lot of reports, pro-Russia reports showing that there are Christians that have

fled to Syria that are being, and they're being protected on a Russian military base

in that area.

This is not because of just an overwhelming amount of altruism from the Russians.

This is strategic.

Again, they do want Assad back in power.

This next one probably has the biggest ramifications for the rest of the world.

Is that war between Turkey and Israel seems to be imminent?

Turkey is a NATO nation.

Israel is not.
19:09
But we are allied with Israel.

That's obviously a big problem.

You know, I was in Turkey just over 10 years ago and it wasn't an Islamist nation.

It was a Muslim nation, but not an Islamist nation, but it's certainly an Islamist nation

now.

Also the minority killings that I've just described to you, they will very likely continue and

likely get worse.

But I do have a message from a source that it has, you know, sources on the ground there

in Syria.

So I'll read it here.

What I know on Christians from a trusted source is that from day one, Christian civilians

have taken arms and weapons to defend their houses and neighborhoods.

Daytime they work, nighttime they watch and they take shifts.

or both, you know, I'm obsessed with the book of Nehemiah in the Old Testament.

If you go through the first four chapters, that's what we see.

We see, you know, in chapter four specifically, we see men that were working to rebuild the

walls, right?

And they had their tools in one hand and they had their fighting weapons in the other,

And so it seems like that's currently what's happening in Syria with a lot of the Christians

there.

They're, they're taking on what, you know, Nehemiah had done.

So what all of this begs is the question, hence, you know, the title of today's episode.

So what happens when Christians are slaughtered by Muslims?

And there's two things that happen mainly.

One is that people basically don't talk about it.

That's one thing that happens because I mean, Al Moller basically hasn't, I don't think

he's mentioned it yet this week, the great Al Moller, a lot of other Christian conservative

podcasters, if they've mentioned it, they've just mentioned it a little bit, right?

And I don't know if it's because they're waiting on more sourcing or things like that.

But yeah, you have a lot of people that aren't talking about it.

And the second thing is people are defaulting to prayer.

And a lot of moments like this, unless you're grabbing all your weaponry and going over

to Syria and trying to push back on the darkness that's happening, that's kind of what we're

And so I don't want to see anyone, certainly Christians denigrating the power of prayer

I mean, Joby stopped his sermon on Sunday to basically say, Hey, we need to pray for the

Christians that are being persecuted all over the globe, right?

Because this isn't just in Congo and in Syria.

This is in Nigeria.

It's been happening in places all over the globe.

And as a quick side note, to anyone that's offended at how I'm framing this so far, if

they're offended by the name of this episode and all that, like, Hey, man, why do you have

to single out Muslims?

So I can't you just say Christians are being slaughtered.

It's not like, you know, all Muslims are like that will allow me to enlighten you real quick.

The people that are being slaughtered are being slaughtered because they are Christians.

So, so these Christians in Congo, for instance, they were kidnapped because they were Christians

and they were beheaded because of their faith in Christ.

And they are being slaughtered by Muslims because they are Muslims.

Because again, as I've talked about recently and I've talked about a lot on the show, there's

no such thing as fundamental, there's no such thing as Muslim extremism.

It's fundamentalist Islam.

Okay, the least abrogated surahs of the Qur'an are the bloodiest.

Those are the ones that call for the killing of the infidel.

So these groups that we've talked about HTS or al-Qaeda or Boko Haram are ISIS or any of

these groups.

They're doing precisely what the prophet Muhammad wants them and has wanted them to do.

But I do have some points that I'd like to make in light of the news of, you know, what's

going on in Syria, what's going on in different parts of Africa and the rest of the Middle

East and the stuff that we saw in that report.

Then is that Jesus warned us that we would be hated and that we would be killed.

Okay, let's go to his words in Matthew 24 verse 9.

"Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated

by all nations for my name's sake."

Okay, so not just for no reason, but for his name's sake.

And also Jesus warned us that we would experience governmental and religious persecution.
