So I remember being shocked by this and in retrospect, I shouldn't have been shocked.

But I just remember like seeing any details about the case and even CNN and MSNBC contributors

were like, goodness gracious, there's nothing here.

When the Washington Post can't tell you, yes, this is a slam dunk.

Donald Trump is definitely going down for this.

You know that it's basically nonsense.

But they go to a district that voted like 95% or 96% in favor of Joe Biden.

And you thought, okay, this is bad news for Donald Trump.

But surely there's going to be at least one juror with a functioning prefrontal cortex

and that this wouldn't happen.

It would be a hung jury.

But this is exactly what happened.

Let's just talk a little bit about the fallout because I do have a lot of thoughts on this

I mean, that's exactly what I text Mark Wayne Mullen after this thing came down because

it's like, wait a minute, this guy used to be the president.

He's currently running to hold that same office again.

And he's basically being targeted by the Department of Justice so called of the party that is

currently in power that's trying to keep him from getting that job back.

Like, this is literally third world country stuff and it's happening here in the United

States.

Also, this case as a lot of people have talked about, even people that hate Donald Trump,

from front to back, it was obviously a farce and to that end, it'll very likely be overturned.

But how many years and how many millions of dollars is Donald Trump going to have to

spend going through this process just to get this ridiculous conviction overturned.

But you can tell that all of this was a set up from the beginning.

And if you need any evidence of that, you need to look at what happened immediately after

Trump gave his first public comments following the guilty verdict.

So we get the breaking news that he has found guilty.

He solemnly walks out of the courtroom, walks up and addresses the media for a couple of

Probably dozens and dozens of reporters, but for whatever reason, Donald Trump stops talking

I would assume at this point we're going to have a clean sweep because the New York City

one was always the dumbest of all of the cases.

So I'm not going to speculate about that in terms of this case.

But in terms of Trump's future prospects overall, I think everyone needs to wrap their minds

I don't necessarily see that as being likely, but it's essentially a guarantee at this point

And then someone, some judge is going to have to be the judge that just did what they had

very easily during this election cycle done two things at the same time.

Number one, support Trump in his legal fight against the spate of species charges.

So there's kind of a thought experiment that I thought of during this, because somebody

So you get Trump back followed by eight years of Gavin Newsom.

Now that's some parallel universe stuff.

We don't live in that type of a universe, but that at least gives you a little bit of

So that's an important thing that I think we all have to contend with is Republicans

thought that they couldn't do both of those things at the same time.

in donations for his reelect effort in one day for comparison.

nine figure donations to try to get him back in the White House.

Another thing that's been brought up in all of this is you've got to start to wonder if

red state Republican governors and district attorneys are going to start playing the same

Now there are people that are calling for that.

They're conservative commentators or even elected members of Congress that are calling

for red state governors and DAS to start doing this exact same thing.

I'm still conflicted about that because part of me wants to say, okay, faithful, if this

is what y'all are going to do, watch us play the exact same game.
