218 – SAM HAZEWINKEL | A Legacy of Olympic Wrestlers

In this episode, we welcome Sam Hazewinkel to the show. Sam was a member of the 2012 US Olympic team as a freestyle wrestler, a 4-time NCAA All-American, and the head coach of the Regional Training Center. In this episode, we discuss what it was like growing up with a father and uncle that were Olympic wrestlers, his London Olympics experience, the best gold medal chances for 2021 US Olympic wrestlers, the J’Den Cox weight cutting scandal, whether kid wrestlers should cut weight, whether or not young boys should wrestler young girls, how he almost lost his life while training overseas, and much more.
