0:02 - This is Undaunted Life, a man's podcast.
0:22 I'm your host Kyle Thompson.
0:23 Let's get into it.
0:24 All right guys, today I've got a special return guest
0:26 on the podcast.
0:26 His name is Mark Wayne Mullen.
0:27 So he has been on this podcast a whole lot lately.
0:29 And for good reason, because he is making his final push
0:32 to become a member of the United States Senate.
0:33 So he is running to represent the state of Oklahoma
0:36 as one of his two senators.
0:37 So he defeated his runoff opponent, T.W. Shannon,
0:39 back in August after garnering about 66% of the vote.
0:42 He came on episode 340 of this podcast
0:45 and he came on a couple of weeks ago.
0:46 I can't remember the episode number,
0:47 but he's talking a lot about what is concerning
0:49 to Americans that are voting in this election cycle.
0:52 Because guys, if you're listening to this on time,
0:53 we are less than three weeks away
0:55 from the midterm elections.
0:56 He's currently in Congress.
0:57 He's a United States House of Representatives member,
0:59 representing the second congressional district of Oklahoma,
1:02 but he's not just that.
1:03 He's also a businessman.
1:04 He runs Mullen Ranch in other businesses.
1:06 He also is a former MMA fighter, so we love that.
1:08 So he's three and oh, he's not afraid
1:10 to get a little bit crazy on the maths.
1:12 But in this particular episode, again,
1:14 this is his final push, right?
1:15 So at the end, he's going to give his final plea
1:17 to the voters of Oklahoma as to why they should pull the lever
1:20 for him on November the 8th.
1:21 But we talk about what he thinks about his race
1:24 and how he's very excited to basically sprint
1:26 through the finish line.
1:27 Again, he breaks down why he thinks the GOP is not
1:29 just going to take the house, but also the Senate.
1:31 But then we dig into inflation.
1:33 So that's the number one thing on everybody's minds right now,
1:36 especially when you go to the grocery store
1:38 and when you're buying just about anything,
1:40 the prices don't even make sense.
1:41 I mean, every time you go to the grocery store,
1:42 it is just absolutely flummoxing what you're looking at
1:45 and the types of things you're having to deal with
1:47 in your families.
1:48 And a lot of people that listen to this show,
1:49 maybe you've got a good amount of money
1:51 and this doesn't bother you.
1:52 But the overwhelming majority of people in America,
1:53 they are really, really hurting right now.
1:55 That's why I ask him, hey, if the GOP does take over
1:57 the house and the Senate, what can you actually do
1:59 with the Biden administration running the White House
2:01 and running the Fed and running all the different things
2:03 that they do?
2:04 What can you do?
2:05 So I really liked the detail he got into
2:06 on that particular question.
2:07 But then also I asked him about something
2:09 'cause maybe you don't know this about Mark Wayne Mullen,
2:11 but he is like really, really good friends
2:12 with Tulsi Gabbard.
2:13 He actually called Tulsi his sister.
2:15 Like that's how they consider each other.
2:17 And again, last week, if you're listening this on time,
2:20 that's only one could talk about was the fact
2:21 that Tulsi Gabbard left the Democratic Party.
2:24 And she did so by posting this video online
2:26 and then she went on Joe Rogan
2:27 and she went on Tucker Carlson show
2:29 and all these different things,
2:30 basically explaining why she's leaving the Democratic Party.
2:32 So he has a little bit of knowledge
2:34 that people maybe didn't know that this was coming for a while.
2:36 And so he gave us some insight on some of the conversations
2:38 that they've been having.
2:39 But guys, it's a fantastic opportunity
2:41 to have a guy like Mark Wayne Mullen on our show.
2:43 We're so excited to have him on the show.
2:44 And again, I just want to also remind you guys
2:46 since you are Jiu Jitsu guys and he's a Jiu Jitsu guy
2:48 and I'm a Jiu Jitsu guy.
2:49 We are sponsored by Origin main.

3:42 But I'm not gonna keep Mark Wayne from you any longer.
3:44 So without further ado, let's get into it.
3:47 Mark Wayne Mullen, welcome back
3:48 to Undaunted Life of Man's podcast.
3:50 Thanks for having me on, man.
3:52 Your beard looks sharp.
3:53 I mean, you look all trimmed and good.
3:55 And I'm just like, wow, I need to go to the barber or something.
3:57 - Here's the thing.
3:58 I was gonna make this my last question of the day
4:00 because I needed to deflect some of the attention off
4:02 of my fantastic beard back to you for a little bit, okay?
4:06 'Cause this was gonna be my last question of the day,
4:08 but I'm going to blow it up and I'm gonna ask you now.
4:10 If you are elected to the United States Senate,
4:13 will you keep the beard?
4:14 Because I feel like some guys, they're like,
4:16 oh, you know, I'm in the Senate now.
4:18 And you know, maybe I'll try the beard for a little bit
4:20 and get rid of it like what Ted Cruz did
4:21 or something like that.
4:22 Because I gotta be honest with you,
4:24 if you're not keeping the beard,
4:25 I'm gonna at least have some hesitation
4:26 when I go in the booth on November 8th.
4:28 - Well, I gotta tell you,
4:29 Ted Cruz's beard looked awful.
4:31 First of all, he couldn't grow a beard, so.
4:33 - It wasn't the best.
4:34 - You can't compare it though.
4:35 I would already shave my beard if it wasn't for my life.
4:38 Okay, beard is a lot of work.
4:41 I grew it up because, man, I'm tired of shaving.
4:44 My little Lord, shaving takes three minutes.
4:47 Screaming the beard up is forever.
4:50 And so, as soon as my wife tells me she wants it gone,
4:54 it's gone, but it's been five years, six years?
4:58 Maybe seven years.
5:00 I think it's been seven years, six years, at least.
5:03 Since I came back from overseas and I shamed it.
5:08 And it was pretty bushy.
5:09 My beard grows like this.
5:11 It doesn't grow like a real fancy duck dynasty beard.
5:13 My beard, I'm like, I look like a chia pet.
5:17 And so, I shamed it.
5:20 And she's like, hmm, I kind of like the beard.
5:25 And I was like, who is he?
5:27 - No.
5:29 - I mean, he's something's wrong here
5:31 because for 20 years of our marriage,
5:34 you wanted me to be clean shaving when I came to bed.
5:36 And now I've been gone for a while
5:38 and now you want me to keep the beard.
5:39 I mean, just tell me who he is.
5:42 - No, what she did is she experienced the true grandeur
5:45 of actual manhood and manliness.
5:47 And she's like, yeah, daddy, give me some more of that.
5:49 But here's the thing,
5:50 if you do get into the United States Senate,
5:52 I mean, then you're going to be invited
5:53 to all those private, you know,
5:55 eyes wide shut parties
5:56 and all these other crazy different things,
5:57 you'll probably have two different people
5:59 that their only job will be to trim your beard for you.
6:02 I mean, this is going to be,
6:03 this is going to be all good, Mark Wayne.
6:05 - Oh yeah, man, I'll get into waxing and everything then.
6:08 Yes, I'm all about that.
6:09 - As long as we keep the waxing above the clavicles,
6:11 we should be okay, but I guess we need to get into
6:14 exactly what we want to have you on here for today.
6:16 So the last time we had you on,
6:17 which was just a few weeks ago,
6:19 obviously we were talking about the race
6:20 as it pertain to write them.
6:21 But guys, if you're listening to this on time,
6:23 we were less than three weeks away from the midterm.
6:25 So November 8th or the midterm elections
6:27 they are right around the corner.
6:28 So let's talk about your campaign first,
6:30 you know, your campaigning against Democrat Kendra Horn
6:33 trying to get into Congress.
6:34 I've seen what the polls say.
6:36 You probably have some different polls that we haven't seen.
6:38 But tell me about your race.
6:39 How's it shaping up?
6:40 It's looking good.
6:41 I mean, we set out in February
6:45 when we made our announcement,
6:46 actually driving to the high school state tournament
6:50 to coach my boys.
6:51 We set out down there and I made the announcement.
6:54 We're in it to win it.
6:55 And that hasn't changed.
6:57 And so we're still driving hard.
6:58 Our message is resonated.
7:00 We're not getting in the weeds.
7:01 Of course, she's gotten negative,
7:02 trying to do everything she can to come after us.
7:05 I just ignore and run our race.
7:08 Our whole thing of our race is to do the right thing
7:10 the first time.
7:11 That's, if you get my challenge point,
7:13 that's what it says on.
7:14 Do the right thing the first time.
7:15 It says my priorities are God, family,
7:17 and then everybody else.
7:18 If I take care of those two first priorities,
7:20 I'm taking everybody else.
7:21 And so what we want to do in this race
7:23 is to let people know who we are.
7:26 In the Eastern side of the state,
7:27 they know who we are.
7:28 On the Western side of the state, they don't.
7:30 So we've done really a really hard press
7:34 on advertising, honestly, us as a family.
7:38 Who we are as a family, what our stances are and why.
7:41 And we've been pretty bold about those.
7:43 You've been taking a strong stance on women's sports
7:47 and making sure people understand
7:49 that my daughters can compete with anybody
7:51 who's on a feet and fair playing field.
7:53 And that's what Title IX was all what it was intended about.
7:56 To take a strong stance on abortion.
7:59 We make it very clear that we have three adopted kids, right?
8:03 And I think the Lord that those,
8:06 the biological birth mothers was brave enough
8:09 to give us an opportunity to love three kids.
8:12 Because if they would have chosen the way out of abortion,
8:15 these kids would never have an opportunity
8:18 to live a successful life.
8:19 And Chris and I would never have an opportunity
8:21 to have three more kids and love them dearly.
8:24 And we make a very strong difference.
8:26 And there's a big difference between us
8:27 and our opponent and that.
8:29 And it's resonated.
8:30 And so we feel very, very confident, Kyle, where we're at.
8:33 We're 20 days out, and then we're just ready
8:34 to run through the tape.
8:35 November 8th, we're like, just currently get here.
8:37 You know, it's like you've been training
8:38 for a world competition for a long time.
8:41 But let's just get on the mat and get this thing over with.
8:43 - The new LinkedIn hiring pro can't undo your last hire.
8:47 The empty seat.
8:48 Who is actually just that?
8:49 An empty chair in your office
8:50 because you couldn't find someone to fill it.
8:52 So it just sat there costing you money
8:54 with all its fancy ergonomic features.
8:58 - But LinkedIn hiring pro can make it easy
9:00 to fill that seat with the right candidate.
9:02 With nearly 60% of businesses finding someone to interview
9:05 in the first week alone.
9:07 Hire right the first time with LinkedIn hiring pro.
9:10 Post a free job today at linkedin.com/quality.
9:13 - Yeah, let's get to the payoff.
9:14 And that's the thing is whenever you look at any of the races
9:17 that are being talked about in the news media,
9:18 no one's ever really talking about your race.
9:20 And there's a good reason for that.
9:21 They're not really talking about the governor's race
9:22 here in Oklahoma either.
9:23 There's a good reason for that.
9:25 But the last time we had you on,
9:26 you did a fairly in depth breakdown of why you felt
9:29 at least a couple of weeks ago, a few weeks ago,
9:31 that you felt the GOP was in a very, very good position
9:34 to actually take back the Senate.
9:36 That the House is pretty much a foregone conclusion.
9:38 Again, even though the summer it got a little bit dicey.
9:40 But here we are again.
9:42 The nation pretty much only wants to talk about
9:45 what's going on in Pennsylvania and Georgia.
9:46 So you have Warnock and Herschel Walker there in Georgia.
9:49 And then you've got John Federman and Dr. Mamet Oz
9:52 up there in Pennsylvania.
9:53 Both of those races are basically,
9:55 in Georgia, we're looking at a coin flip
9:57 according to most of the polling,
9:58 which again, if you wanna trust polling, go for it.
10:00 And then in Pennsylvania, now with John Federman,
10:02 essentially not being able to talk,
10:04 which people are like, oh, you're being ableist.
10:06 If you're getting on to him for not being able to talk,
10:08 it's like, you have to talk and reason.
10:10 If you're gonna be in Congress,
10:12 like I don't care if you're wheeled into Congress
10:14 in a wheelchair, I care if your brain functions.
10:17 And so that races down into the low single digits
10:19 if you believe the polling.
10:20 So now that we're about three weeks out,
10:22 this is your last chance to tell my audience
10:24 how you see the race,
10:25 not just for your individual race,
10:27 but for the Senate at large.
10:29 - So as I said, we're gonna win our race.
10:31 We're feel very confident.
10:32 I've been on the road traveling nonstop.
10:36 And when I'm in traveling, not just inside Oklahoma,
10:39 when I'm in Oklahoma, I'm traveling,
10:40 when I'm not in Oklahoma,
10:41 we're going all across the country.
10:42 We've been in Atlanta, we've been in Georgia twice.
10:47 In Nevada with Adam Laxalt,
10:51 we've spent time with masters,
10:56 those named Blake Masters and Nevada.
11:00 We've been in New Hampshire, we've been in Dr. Oz.
11:03 I feel very confident, Kyle, where we're at.
11:06 I think Herschel pulls it off in Georgia.
11:10 It's one of the nastiest races that I've seen.
11:13 I mean, it is nasty.
11:14 There's no question, but it is absolutely nasty.
11:16 But at the end of the day,
11:18 no one has a better name ID in Georgia.
11:21 And don't forget, Georgia football's been pretty good
11:24 right now, and they're pretty geared up about that.
11:27 And that plays right in.
11:29 I hate to say, but it plays right into the hands
11:31 of people showing up and voting.
11:33 It's a complete 100% saturation.
11:35 Both people know it have a complete 100% name ID.
11:39 This is very much like Hillary Clinton and Trump.
11:42 People know who they are and their minds
11:43 already made up on them.
11:45 And I feel positive that Herschel Walker's gonna pull it off.
11:48 It's not gonna be a great upset,
11:49 but he's definitely gonna pull it off
11:51 within a margin of errors.
11:52 And Dr. Oz, the deal that's going on in Pennsylvania
11:56 is it's interesting because Dr. Oz
11:59 hasn't done a whole lot to help himself,
12:01 but he hasn't hurt himself either.
12:03 He's been very consistent.
12:04 Fetterman is to the point out that people know
12:07 that he's not gonna finish six years.
12:09 What's interesting there though,
12:11 is they don't want the governor,
12:12 because the governor isn't very popular.
12:15 And the way Pennsylvania works is if the senator
12:19 has to resign for whatever reasons
12:21 or because they can't do their duty or they pass away.
12:24 I'm not saying Fetterman's gonna pass away,
12:25 I'm just saying that, or they have to leave office.
12:28 The governor gets to point the senator
12:30 for the remainder of the term.
12:32 And typically that senator then can go ahead
12:34 and run for reelection.
12:35 And so they don't want the governor to have that opportunity.
12:38 So it's more against, it's turning out that their minds
12:41 made up about Fetterman,
12:42 their minds made up against Dr. Oz,
12:44 but the governor is playing a role in this thing now.
12:47 And they're leaning towards Dr. Oz.
12:49 So I think we still hold on to Pennsylvania.
12:52 And if we hold on to Pennsylvania and we pick up Georgia,
12:55 then we're at 51.
12:57 So we want to send Adam Black salt
13:00 and Nevada is doing really good.
13:02 He's gonna win, that puts us at 52.
13:04 I think Masters, Blake Masters in Nevada,
13:07 or Arizona has a very good experience to win.
13:09 And let me tell you O'Day in Colorado,
13:12 he's running a heck of a race.
13:14 The independents are moving towards us.
13:16 We're dead even with independents now, we're 50/50.
13:19 With independents, that means that's a 23% pickup
13:24 of independents for the Republican party,
13:29 'cause we've only been at 27%.
13:31 And then we've also lay in the fact
13:33 that we're bringing in Hispanic votes.
13:36 We're winning Hispanic votes right now.
13:37 For the first time since we've measured Hispanic votes
13:40 as a susceptibility, we're winning Hispanic votes.
13:43 We'll both have a high population base in Colorado.
13:46 If those move the way that they look like they're moving,
13:48 then O'Day's gonna win Colorado.
13:50 That's a D plus six state.
13:51 D plus six means that any Democrat should win by at least
13:54 least six points.
13:55 And Oklahoma won R 27.
13:57 So any Republicans should win by at least 20 plus points.
14:00 27 or so should be where you should be at.
14:04 And so we can win it, that right there puts us at 54.
14:07 Now, I don't think we can win much more than 54,
14:10 but we could win Washington State.
14:12 We could win New Hampshire, we could win Vermont.
14:15 I don't think we're gonna win all seven,
14:19 'cause there's seven states at play,
14:21 but I feel very confident we're gonna win.
14:24 - So I appreciate going into that detail again.
14:26 One quick question on Mehmet Oz,
14:28 and I wanna spend a whole lot of time with this,
14:29 'cause we have some of the things I wanna get to.
14:31 Part of me is, okay, I think people in the state
14:34 of Pennsylvania are treating that as almost a placeholder.
14:37 Like, hey, we just need to get this person in
14:39 and they'll vote with the party and they'll go from there.
14:41 My concern as a Republican is that Mehmet Oz
14:43 would be just like Mitt Romney,
14:45 in that he is more of a thorn in the GOP side
14:48 than he is an advocate for GOP policies.
14:51 And again, it's hard to say that now,
14:52 but I mean, is there any standing to what I'm saying
14:56 or any of my fears there?
14:57 - Sure, I think it's legit,
14:59 but you got one factor that is a hard factor
15:02 to measure is Trump.
15:05 Remember, Trump came out for odds very early, very strong.
15:09 There's some loyalty there that is due.
15:12 And Trump has no problem with calling you out
15:17 if you flip-flop.
15:17 If you, if you, if you duked him,
15:21 if you misled him, you, there's a,
15:25 there's a wrath to pay on that one.
15:26 You know, he does, if you're open and honest with who you are,
15:29 then begin with, fine, you guys will just be tipped for tag.
15:31 But if you actually come out
15:33 and you decide to be something different
15:35 than what you portrayed yourself to him
15:36 and he tied his name to you,
15:38 then there was a wrath coming after you
15:40 and it's pretty heavy.
15:43 And I think, I think Trump did a good job
15:47 because he interviews you.
15:48 When you go and talk to him, it's an interview.
15:51 It's a very in-depth interview.
15:53 He's interviewed a lot of people in his life.
15:55 I feel pretty good of the credentials of where he's gonna be.
15:58 We're gonna look at things different, obviously,
16:01 on sometimes.
16:02 But I think when push comes a shove,
16:04 he's not gonna be a Mitt Romney.
16:06 - Okay, well, that makes me feel a little bit better.
16:08 Now, one of the reasons why you just mentioned
16:10 the independence there.
16:11 A lot of independence are trending towards the GOP right now.
16:13 And there's, there's really good reason for that.
16:15 One of the main reasons is
16:16 because of what people are actually concerned about.
16:19 People aren't concerned about whether or not
16:20 their school will allow their kids to,
16:22 to go to the bathroom in the wrong bathroom
16:24 or whether or not they're allowing these kids
16:27 to compete against people from different gender.
16:29 That's not what people are concerned about.
16:30 They're concerned about their pocketbooks.
16:32 They're concerned about gas prices.
16:33 They're concerned about inflation.
16:35 I mean, the other day, like, my wife sent me to Lowe's
16:37 to go grab some mulch.
16:38 And she's like, yeah, you know,
16:39 they're about five bucks a bag.
16:40 They're like 13 bucks a bag for the mulch that we buy.
16:43 Because like the last time we bought they were around $5.
16:45 And here we are almost triple the price.
16:47 We're seeing it in everything.
16:49 And the everyday American is feeling that.
16:51 And the recent inflation reports,
16:52 I feel like this is just kind of like a broken record.
16:55 Every time they release an inflation report,
16:57 it's the worst one we've seen in 40 years.
16:59 And then we get another one.
17:00 And it's the worst one we've seen in 40 years.
17:02 I guess the one good thing is,
17:03 at least Jimmy Carter lived long enough to see a president
17:06 that was worse than him.
17:07 And so that's where we're at right now.
17:09 Yeah, sorry, that's a little bit of a brutal line.
17:10 But that is absolutely true.
17:14 And so let's talk about the inflation reports
17:16 because let's say you guys take over the house
17:19 and the Senate.
17:20 You still have Joe Biden in the White House kind of.
17:23 So what exactly can the Congress do
17:26 to help with what everyday Americans
17:28 are actually struggling with?
17:29 Well, let's go back and talk about the fact
17:32 you're putting mulch down.
17:33 You do know it washes out every time it rains.
17:35 So you're just fully aware of this.
17:37 All right, now, would you like me to clip this
17:39 and show that to my wife?
17:40 So I can be like, hey, instead of mulch,
17:42 how about we just put concrete down?
17:44 I'm okay with concrete, but it's-
17:45 How old or river rock is something
17:47 that doesn't wash every kind of rains?
17:49 And not to mention mulch is a little bad about termites
17:51 and it's not really a termites and oakland.
17:53 So what a very poor decision making on your-
17:55 You're preaching to the choir here, okay?
17:57 Like this is just, I did my honeydew,
17:59 so stop getting on to me.
18:01 So let's talk about inflation, inflation.
18:04 You know, the most homes in Oklahoma heat with gas
18:08 because gas prices have been so low.
18:11 So we're not an all electric house.
18:13 There's very few homes in Oklahoma
18:15 that are fully electric.
18:17 And so a gas alone to heat your house this year
18:20 was going to be a 28% increase, 28% increase.
18:25 Now you think about Oklahoma and District 2,
18:29 which is all eastern side of the average household.
18:32 Household income is a little over 40,000 a year.
18:36 Now, you think about heating your house at a 28% increase,
18:41 then gas being over $4 a gallon
18:45 just to get you back and forth to work.
18:46 Now, to mention your drive to take the kids to school,
18:49 like Chris and I, it's a 30-minute drive to take
18:51 our kids to school one way, which I say we take our kids.
18:55 We have three teenage boys that are driving,
18:58 so we don't really do that anymore, but still.
19:00 You just, you think about that
19:02 and the cost is added in there.
19:04 The average inflation rate is at 13.5% across Oklahoma.
19:09 It's 8.8, 8.9, something like that across the nation.
19:14 So Oklahoma's just proportionally at high
19:16 because of oil and gas industry.
19:18 So people are concerned about their pocketbook.
19:22 You go to the grocery store,
19:23 you see the amount of cost of everything that's went up.
19:26 I mean, everything is through the roof.
19:28 You go to the restaurant, mine and the Lord.
19:30 Restaurants are, it's $30 to go to McDonald's right now.
19:34 And I'm not saying that it's too high,
19:36 this is what their prices are.
19:37 Chris and I, we own a restaurant on top
19:39 of all the other companies we have,
19:41 and you can't keep a consistent pricing on the menu.
19:44 Chicken alone has went up 110% just for chicken,
19:49 not matching your meat prices.
19:51 And that's your proteins, right?
19:53 Your little cups of extra salad dressing
19:57 that everybody likes.
19:58 Used to, we didn't pay attention to those.
20:00 Now we fear those costs us a quarter
20:01 every time we send them out of the kitchen.
20:03 That's how much the little plastic things are cost with it.
20:05 And so it's cost, cost is running through the,
20:08 running rampant to us.
20:10 And the, in Biden, he said this weekend
20:13 when he was eating his ice cream,
20:16 that the economy was strong.
20:20 - Yeah, completely tone deaf.
20:23 - Yes, and when he starts talking about the inflation,
20:26 he says there's zero, zero, zero inflation.
20:28 He doesn't understand what's happening
20:30 and nor can they admit that this happened
20:33 because if they admitted to it, Kyle,
20:35 then they would have to admit that their policies have failed.
20:39 And that's not what a socialist country does.
20:41 That's not what a socialist dictator does.
20:44 That's not what socialists do.
20:46 They don't admit that it's their policies.
20:49 They blame on somebody else and make the argument,
20:53 this is why we need to take control.
20:55 Because if you had let us take control,
20:57 we could solve this,
20:58 but it's these bad people over here
21:00 that's causing this to happen.
21:01 And at the same time, ignoring the fact
21:04 that it's their decisions that's drove us to this point.
21:08 And it's not that hard to fix.
21:10 The first thing you've got to fix for inflation
21:12 is you've got to fix energy.
21:13 Energy is the backbone of every product.
21:16 It is the beginning and end of every product.
21:18 It's the beginning of a product being made.
21:20 It's the end of the product being delivered
21:23 because it takes delivery costs,
21:25 which is driven by a combustible motor to get it to you.
21:28 And even if you switch it to electric,
21:30 you still got to have energy to get it there.
21:32 You still got to induce energy to charge the vehicle.
21:35 So energy, you have to have control of energy.
21:37 And where we're energy and dependent
21:39 is when we saw the cost of energy knows dive
21:42 because we wasn't depending on OPEC and Russia
21:45 and Iran and Venezuela to set the energy cost.
21:49 We were setting the cost of energy
21:51 because people want to do business with the United States.
21:53 And by the way,
21:54 our energy that we have for these environmentalists out there
21:57 that may be listening,
21:58 not that they're probably listening to your podcast,
21:59 but who knows?
22:00 But if they're listening,
22:02 do you understand that Saudi Arabia's oil,
22:06 Russia's oil, Venezuela's oil,
22:08 the heavy crude has a four to one ratio
22:12 of our sweet crude,
22:15 what you would consider your dirty components
22:18 that's coming out of it when we're refining it.
22:21 So what is it you're arguing here?
22:23 Because we're not reducing our footprint.
22:26 All we're doing is making us more dependent
22:28 on foreign countries is make us very a volatile country
22:31 and we're costing our economy at the same time.
22:33 And what's your end game?
22:35 What are you trying to do?
22:35 And so you can't even talk about getting inflation under control
22:39 if we don't become energy independent
22:41 and take the control of that, that,
22:43 and which has separated us from the rest of the country,
22:46 arrest the world for so long
22:48 because we're such a unique economy
22:51 inside the United States
22:52 that we can be completely 100% independent.
22:55 You think about Europe.
22:56 Europe doesn't have the ability to control their own energy.
22:59 Mm-hmm.
23:00 Neither does China.
23:02 And so you look at the United States
23:05 and we could be completely energy independent.
23:08 Not, not worried about what OPEC and Russia does,
23:10 but we don't do it
23:12 because of failed policy by the Obama administration.
23:14 He called it, he called the president tone death.
23:16 Don't tone death.
23:18 It's policy death too.
23:20 He's completely numb to his policies.
23:23 He's, he's numb to it because he's insulated from it.
23:26 Again, I don't really think he's running the show.
23:27 He's more the face and I mean, what,
23:29 could he have a worse face for those types of things?
23:31 So it's, there's other people that are pulling the strings,
23:34 but I guess to wrap this up and again,
23:36 that this gets way into the weeds
23:37 and we just don't have the time to get into it.
23:38 But whenever the Congress and the White House
23:41 are of different parties,
23:43 I know a lot of the policy making
23:45 and a lot of the executive orders,
23:46 they obviously come from the executive branch.
23:49 But from the legislative branch,
23:51 what are some things that you will be able to do
23:53 to kind of curtail some of the decisions being made
23:55 from the White House,
23:56 but then also pushes towards the energy independent side
23:59 because again, we could be a net exporter of energy.
24:01 We were under Donald Trump as president.
24:04 So what can Congress do if you have both houses?
24:07 - If we have both houses,
24:08 we can pass legislation but want to be signed and all.
24:11 - Of course.
24:11 - Yeah.
24:12 - And because we, no matter,
24:14 even if we get pick up 40 seats in the house,
24:16 we're still not gonna have two thirds.
24:18 So we're not gonna build an override of veto in the house,
24:21 much less than Senate.
24:22 The Senate's definitely not gonna have two thirds.
24:23 We're not gonna have 60.
24:25 So we can pass legislation,
24:27 but there's not gonna be anything that legislative,
24:30 we're gonna build a dude to reverse the policies
24:32 because it takes legislation to override an executive order.
24:37 And for that legislation to go into law,
24:39 I guess who has to sign it?
24:40 It's the President of the United States
24:42 who signed the executive order.
24:43 He can veto it and know we can override it.
24:45 So it's gonna be difficult for us to do anything
24:48 when it comes to that.
24:49 Now what we can do is we can bar the door shut.
24:52 We can keep a lot of stuff from going into effect
24:54 because when we control the house,
24:56 what we do is in the Senate,
24:58 when he puts an executive order out,
25:01 we can just simply not fund it
25:02 when we go to funding the government.
25:04 We're not gonna fund that executive order.
25:05 We're not gonna allow any funds to be used
25:08 to execute that executive order.
25:11 But it's only, you can't go back and reverse it though.
25:14 You can just keep it from moving forward.
25:16 So to say, we're more like a door stop
25:21 when we don't control the White House.
25:23 We just kind of keep bad things from happening.
25:27 But have I broke down the Chevron difference for you?
25:30 'Cause this is what's important.
25:31 Okay, so why all of a sudden do we hear
25:34 so much about executive orders?
25:35 Why is executive orders such a big thing?
25:37 Because our founding fathers never intended
25:40 for the executive branch to build and make legislation,
25:42 but they make legislation all the time
25:44 to what they call executive orders.
25:46 Well, how did that happen?
25:47 Why did all of a sudden that take place?
25:49 'Cause it hasn't been like this always.
25:51 Reagan couldn't do this.
25:53 Clinton couldn't do this.
25:55 Bush 41 couldn't do this.
25:59 So why is it now that Obama coined a phrase that says,
26:03 I call on Congress to act if not I got a pin in the phone?
26:06 We'll go back to Chevron difference.
26:08 What happened was in early 2000, Chevron sued the EPA
26:12 and asked the court, who has final say?
26:14 If Congress passed legislation and the rulemaking
26:17 because the rules are wrote by the agencies
26:19 that the legislation referred to,
26:23 if it doesn't line up the Congress's intent,
26:25 who has final say?
26:27 And it made it all the way into the Supreme Court.
26:29 In 2005, the Supreme Court basically ruled and said
26:33 that Congress delegated that authority to the agency,
26:36 therefore making them the experts.
26:38 So the experts have final say, that happened in 2005.
26:42 When Obama came into office,
26:44 he took complete control of that.
26:47 And instead of them just making rulemaking
26:49 for legislation going forward,
26:51 he took a very strong approach to it
26:55 and said, I can reach all the way back to 1974
26:59 to the Clean Water Act, or 1972, I think,
27:02 to the Clean Air Act.
27:04 I might be wrong on those numbers, maybe '73.
27:06 I'm really pulling that out.
27:07 But it was early '70s where they come out and they said,
27:11 let's redefine the word, "navical bodies of water."
27:13 Navical bodies of water was really,
27:15 what is our Coast Guard Patrol?
27:18 That's an abical bodies water.
27:20 We're gonna consider that water so that you ask.
27:22 We have no control over that.
27:24 Obama came in and redefined that
27:26 by calling it literally in a minute streams,
27:29 anything that flows into a body of water that's navical,
27:33 now has jurisdiction underneath the Clean Water Act.
27:36 And he did that to executive orders.
27:37 That made all types of problems for the oil and gas industry
27:41 and the farming industry, the Clean Air Act,
27:43 with emissions coming out through our power plants.
27:47 He started going after it
27:49 and started going back towards executive orders,
27:51 going back towards and eliminating coal fire power plants.
27:54 He did that not through legislation
27:55 through executive orders.
27:57 And so if we're gonna make real changes to this,
28:00 which causes, by the way, when you make changes that quick,
28:03 our founding fathers wanted government to be dysfunctional
28:06 because they wanted to move very, very, very slow.
28:09 We get frustrated, but when we're dysfunctional
28:12 and we move slow as a government,
28:13 that's exactly what our founding fathers wanted to do.
28:16 So we didn't have volatility inside the country
28:19 where you didn't have ups and downs
28:21 because you'd have one really party come in
28:23 and make sudden changes to it all of a sudden.
28:25 But that's exactly what we have with executive orders
28:27 because you can have one president
28:29 that can come in office on January 20th,
28:31 undo all executive orders that were put in place
28:33 and put the whole country into a tailspin,
28:35 which is what happened in January 20th to 2021, right?
28:40 So we have to go back and have the court re-look at that.
28:44 And we have a court now that is different
28:46 than it was in 2005.
28:47 We have a court now that's making some very landmark decisions
28:50 and undoing landmark decisions.
28:51 They're making very bold decisions and saying,
28:53 "Wait, the court got it wrong."
28:55 And I've been talking to industries all across the United States
28:58 saying someone's gonna have to re-challenge this lawsuit,
29:01 not initially bring up the chevron deference,
29:03 but somebody's gonna have to sue,
29:05 even if it's the medical industry suing HHS or CMS,
29:10 saying we need to re-look at this
29:12 because this is outside of Congress and intent
29:14 to get that re-look at and reverse
29:16 and then we can quit the volatility
29:17 that happens with executive orders.
29:19 And that's a huge role because going back to what you said,
29:22 what Congress has rolled in would be
29:24 is they could show the court what their intent is.
29:27 Congress could make capacity legislation
29:29 that mirrors a lawsuit that is being sued
29:32 and it's being asked,
29:33 just says, "Yes, Congress agrees with this.
29:36 "Outside the president.
29:38 "We need to take the authority back away from the president,
29:40 "put it back into the legislative branch,
29:42 "not the executive branch, the legislative branch."
29:45 And so both chambers could pass it,
29:47 even though it doesn't get signed on law,
29:48 it says a signal to the Supreme Court
29:52 when they're making a ruling saying Congress agrees
29:54 with what the lawsuit is asking.
29:57 - Well, even beyond that, Mark Wayne,
29:58 just we saw this within a week of Joe Biden taking office,
30:03 most of Trump's executive orders just disappeared
30:05 into the ether and the same would happen
30:07 if Joe Biden is not elected to a second term.
30:09 And like, I hate that precedent of like,
30:11 "Hey, let's just do this with the pin."
30:13 And so one thing that I wanted to get to
30:15 before we got you out of here,
30:16 because there was something interesting
30:17 that happened last week.
30:17 It was all we could talk about for three or four days.
30:20 And it was that Tulsi Gabbard basically gave the finger
30:23 to the Democratic Party and said, "Peace, I'm out."
30:25 And that's an interesting thing,
30:26 because you obviously know, Tulsi, your friends with her,
30:29 you work together with her when she was in Congress.
30:31 Y'all actually, I think, wrote a bill together.
30:33 I think it had to do with Title IX.
30:34 I might be getting the details fuzzy.
30:36 But y'all did a bipartisan bill to get some things done.
30:39 Now, this is what I will say before you answer
30:41 and give me your thoughts on this.
30:42 I've said before and I've said on this show,
30:44 whenever she was doing the,
30:45 I'm the anti-establishment Democrat thing,
30:47 I didn't think it was that impressive,
30:49 because like Republicans were like,
30:50 "Oh my gosh, hanging on every word she would say."
30:52 And it's like, "Guys, she's just saying things
30:54 that are reasonable, but she's definitely a Democrat.
30:57 Like she's not good on gun policy.
30:59 She's not good on abortion.
31:00 She's not good on immigration.
31:02 She's not good on these things."
31:03 But she does say some things that are completely
31:05 counter to the nonsense woke narrative
31:07 that we get from most of the Democrats
31:08 that are currently in Congress.
31:10 And so kind of a whirlwind,
31:11 it seems like she's taken off the chains
31:13 of some of the things she's been able to say
31:15 when on Joe Rogan last week,
31:16 when on Tucker Carlson,
31:17 she's been making the rounds.
31:18 What are your thoughts on her leaving
31:20 the Democratic Party in the way that she did?
31:22 Do you think she'll eventually run again
31:24 for office as a libertarian or a Republican?
31:26 Or is she gonna make up her own party?
31:27 What do you think is gonna be the future for her?
31:29 - Well, Talsy isn't just a friend.
31:31 She'd call me her brother and I call her my sister.
31:34 We're very close.
31:35 We're very close to the family.
31:37 Her husband Abraham is a very good friend of mine.
31:41 And my daughter wants to go live in Hawaii with,
31:45 with Hawaii or with Talsy and,
31:47 and be her nanny when she has kids.
31:49 I mean, that's how her father's an outstanding person,
31:52 her sister was a U.S. marshal.
31:54 And so it was her brother-in-law, great people.
31:56 We have broke bread many, many, many, many times together.
31:59 We've done trips together.
32:00 So in fact, she's gonna be here a week from tomorrow
32:05 and we'll be doing events with a stain
32:07 right here in the house with us.
32:09 That's how, so when I say sister,
32:10 she is very close.
32:11 We're gonna be doing an event on 26 and Tulsa
32:16 and the 25th and Oklahoma City will be at lunch
32:21 and dinner, Oklahoma City will be at lunch
32:23 and then Tulsa will be at dinner.
32:26 And so I've known this was coming for a while.
32:29 To be quite frank,
32:30 we knew she was gonna leave the party probably a year
32:34 plus ago, I would say really,
32:37 I'd say really close to after she lost
32:40 the presidential bid for to be a Democrat nominee.
32:45 And I believe she's gonna become an independent
32:51 if I were to guess.
32:52 Now we haven't had those exact words,
32:54 so I'm not saying, I'm not trying to give you a week
32:57 and say this is what she said.
32:59 If I were to guess, I have never pushed her on this subject
33:03 because there is some political differences between us.
33:05 My thing is, is that I'm okay
33:07 with having political differences with you
33:09 as long as you love that flag as much as I do this behind you.
33:12 No one can argue the fact her dedication to this country.
33:15 We can argue political points.
33:16 We can argue what we make decisions,
33:19 but we all make decisions based on two things,
33:21 where we raise and our experiences grown up.
33:26 And those things don't change.
33:30 And so we raise different and our experiences grown up,
33:33 our life experiences grown up has been different.
33:36 So we do have differences,
33:37 but she loves a country for sure.
33:40 So we, I don't really talk really heavy politics with her,
33:43 just on the top lines,
33:44 and then some issues we agree and we just kind of move into it.
33:47 And so I would think she'd become an independent.
33:51 And I don't know if she'll run for office again or not.
33:54 She does such a phenomenal job.
33:56 I don't know if you saw when she filled in
33:57 for Tucker Carlson.
33:58 She just, she kicked it out of the park.
34:01 - Yeah, she's got a knack for it for sure.
34:03 And so I can see where she could probably get a big deal
34:07 on Fox or, I don't know, it was Newsmax.
34:12 I don't know who'll pick her up,
34:13 but I wouldn't be surprised if somebody did pick her up
34:14 and paid her pretty good money
34:16 and probably maybe keep her out of politics.
34:18 But I know she has a desire to serve
34:20 and she wants to serve.
34:22 That's her heart.
34:22 She has a desire to serve in whatever capacity that could be.
34:26 And if she made a decision to go do a talk show,
34:29 it wouldn't necessarily mean it for the funding,
34:31 for the money of it.
34:32 She doesn't chase that.
34:33 She's very unique, very different when it comes up.
34:36 It would be where she is in the best position
34:38 to affect policy to which she believes in the most.
34:42 And so she ran for office because that's what she decided to do.
34:46 She decided to go towards the speaking route.
34:49 That is because she thinks she'd be more effective that way.
34:52 And by the way, what she's doing right now
34:53 has been dang effective.
34:55 No one, I've never heard anybody
34:57 break down the current Democrat party,
34:59 the way that she did and dissect it in a manner
35:02 that made sense without actually coming
35:04 like she had a vendetta against him.
35:06 She didn't come across angry on her.
35:08 She just said, this is the facts.
35:11 Follow it.
35:12 And I was very impressed and proud.
35:14 - Well, Mark, when she did it 90 seconds in a video
35:17 that had millions of views after its first day,
35:18 but this was an interesting thing
35:20 about her leaving the Democratic party.
35:21 And I'm not the one that thought of this,
35:23 someone else said it and I'd love to give him credit,
35:24 but I can't remember.
35:25 But typically when people lead the Republican party,
35:28 they have one name on their lips and it's Trump.
35:31 Oh, I can't do anything because of Trump.
35:33 And Trump did this and Trump said this
35:34 and he's orange and he's bad.
35:36 So they always say Trump.
35:37 She managed to do a 90 second little soliloquy
35:40 on why she's leaving the Democratic party.
35:41 And she named no names because she didn't need to.
35:44 She didn't need to say Joe Biden or Bernie Sanders
35:47 or Kamala Harris or Hillary Clinton.
35:48 All she had to say was this is what this part
35:51 of the party rather has devolved to.
35:55 Here's what they actually believe and guess what?
35:57 All the people that were mad at her,
35:58 no one was able to disagree with or quibble
36:01 with what she said.
36:02 They were just mad that she said it out loud.
36:04 But we're not gonna keep going on Tulsi.
36:06 We can probably talk about her later on.
36:08 We're actually running up against time.
36:10 But this is your last plea, Mark Wayne.
36:12 This is your last plea to the people of Oklahoma
36:15 that are potentially, maybe they're on the fence.
36:17 Maybe they don't know what they're gonna do
36:18 on November the 8th.
36:19 And so this is your last time where you can tell them,

36:30 Guys, I don't lose, I'm allergic to it.

36:35 And so my fight for this country is still that.
36:37 I get, I had the best, I had the best of both worlds.
36:41 And what I mean by that is, is I get to do this.
36:45 This isn't something I have to do.
36:47 I get to do this.
36:48 It's not my livelihood.
36:50 And then behind that, I got a strong family with my wife
36:53 and my kids that aren't just okay with me being in the fight.
36:57 They're in the fight with me.
36:58 And I'm gonna tell you, if I got those priorities right,
