So last summer, now I can't discuss all the details of the case because it is currently

But what I can say is what has been reported everywhere, which is that my cousin CJ was

killed when a man driving a work truck plowed into him while he was parked on his police

motorcycle.

So he is survived by my, by my first cousin, his wife, Jennifer, and their two young children,

Emily and Connor.

Now we're coming up on the one year anniversary.

And for the immediate family, you only know what this is like if you've been through it.

And so I haven't lost the spouse.

I don't know exactly what it's been like, but it's been an overwhelming year for Jennifer

and the kids because you have this outpouring of support.

You have all this emotion again, go back to the episode 338 where I talk about how my,

my cousin, Jennifer gave the eulogy.

She eulogized her fallen husband and didn't even crack.

Like I just, even to this day, I'm like, I don't, I have no idea how she did that.

Just unbelievable strength.

But you know, she went back to work last year to try to, you know, get her mind off of it.

She's a kindergarten teacher and it's like, it was just such a rough, a rough thing for

them. And, and then for the extended family, you know, for me and for everybody else, it's

like you, you want to hop in and help as much as possible.

But at the same time, you know, you're, you're going through your own emotions in this situation

and you want to help, but you don't want to be overbearing.

And you know, from the moment this happened, I wanted to do something, you know, I've, you

know, I always make fun of people that are like, oh, let's do something.

It's like, that's where I was.

I was stuck. I was like, you don't know exactly what to do.

Like the day after he died or the day he died, I just went over to their house with my baseball

glove and, and took Connor outside and said, Hey, let's go play catch, just to do something

to get him out of the house to distract him from, from everything that was going on.

And I wanted to help them, but as we reach the one year point, it's like, you know, when

people are going through really, really hard stuff, you, it's like you're pouring water

on them while they're drowning. And that's what people that, you know, when they're just

like, Hey, let me know if there's anything I can do for you.

It's like you, you put a burden on that person to come up with something for you to do so

you can feel better. And so I was just stuck in this in between area of like wanting to

help and not wanting to be overbearing and all that kind of stuff.

So basically what happened is a couple of months I came up with an idea that will allow

same position as the Nelson family.
