0:00 This is "Undaunted Life" a man's podcast.
0:24 I'm your host Kyle Thompson, let's get into it.
0:26 Hey Mark Wayne, it's always good to see you, it's always good to have you on the show,
0:29 but as you and I have talked about offline, obviously we're kind of in a weird place
0:34 right now as a country and you and I have talked a little bit here and there since the
0:39 assassination of Charlie Kirk.
0:41 There's a lot of thoughts, there's been think pieces and podcasts and episodes of shows
0:45 at late night hosts.
0:46 Everyone's been taking their shots and making their opinions known, but I just want you to
0:50 give your message to my audience about really the impact that Charlie Kirk had, especially
0:54 for the Trump administration and your thoughts about the assassination, then we'll just move
0:58 forward from there.
0:59 Well, that's a lot of questions there, you've got to just throw it out there.
1:03 I just want to sneak them all in, just in case you forget one, you can just pick them
1:07 out here and there.
1:08 No jokes, just right in there, I mean you've got a black t-shirt on, I look better than
1:13 you do.
1:14 I mean, it just didn't feel like, well, we can take a vote, we'll take a poll to see
1:18 how that goes.
1:19 Yeah, so listen, first of all, for Charlie's impact on the election, it can't be over-stake
1:28 that he had.
1:29 I'm not saying understated, it can't be overstated to his impact he had.
1:33 He did something that the Republicans didn't think we could do.
1:37 He took the younger generation and changed their way of thinking, not by trying to manipulate
1:46 them, but trying to get them to think, not by having a fiery speech like AOC and fight
1:55 and burn them down because they're socialists and all this stuff, it's a fascist.
2:02 But he had, he did it with words that is hard for a lot of us to express and that's love.
2:10 And if you go, well, whatever, I mean, he's decisive, what was decisive about him, right?
2:14 I mean, he went upset at a tent and on the college campus gave a microphone to the opposition
2:21 and he had opened a bait with him and he would openly talk about his faith with Jesus Christ.
2:27 He would talk about his traditional marriage, encourage people to get married and have as
2:32 many kids as they could.
2:33 And then if you wanted to debate political stuff, he could go all the way back to founding
2:37 fathers, the federalist papers, he could debate the Constitution or the current law that was
2:41 just passed and he could recite it without notes on the smartest individuals I ever met
2:48 and he could articulate it in a way that wasn't coming across as condescending, wasn't coming
2:54 across as his opinion, he gave the facts behind it.
3:00 And that's why it was so hard to debate Charlie because when you were debating him, he knew
3:06 the issue and he could recite it and I don't know where he read because he was always communicating
3:11 with people.
3:12 I don't know where he had time to actually comprehend and read all this, but he must
3:15 know how to read, speed read through things and retain it better than any human being
3:20 I've ever met in my life because he could talk about any author and recite scriptures
3:26 and recite, you know, exactly word for word, the federalist papers or writings of any of
3:32 our founding fathers.
3:34 And so the way he did it was in a thoughtful way and his crowd just continued to grow.
3:42 And he wasn't running for office, he wasn't doing anything, he was just going to places
3:46 that elected officials had overlooked.
3:50 And when he came in after the devastating election results in 2020, he was the first
4:03 one wanting the president to run again and for re-election.
4:10 The president I had that conversation, actually Jim Jordan, I was the last person after he
4:14 talked to the president and the Oval Office before he left, and he said, "Why would I
4:18 run again?"
4:19 I've already won two elections, he wasn't going to run again.
4:23 But Charlie continued to talk to him and then the left would leave him alone and Charlie
4:27 said, "I can win the younger generation for you."
4:32 President Trump didn't think that was possible, he was like, "How can you do that?"
4:35 He says, "We can do it, I'm Tony, there's a whole hunger of younger people out there
4:41 that want the truth."
4:43 And all we had to do is just give them it, just give them the facts.
4:46 They fight with feelings and emotions, we can fight with facts.
4:50 And that was what he said, "They fight with feelings and emotions, we can fight with
4:53 facts."
4:55 And he did it.
4:56 I mean, he absolutely 100% did it.
5:00 No one worked harder than Charlie other than the president of the United States to get
5:06 President Trump back in office and he did it with so much energy.
5:13 So he made a huge impact on the election and midterm elections too, he was going to make
5:21 a big impact.
5:24 Now fast forward to where we're going with Charlie, he never wanted to have the legacy
5:31 that wasn't what he was about.
5:35 And I'm not making this comparison, so don't think I'm comparative to Jesus Christ, I'm
5:39 not.
5:40 Jesus Christ died for his sins, like his pastor said died for his sins, means Charlie sins
5:45 died for our sins so we could have a turn of life.
5:49 That's Jesus.
5:50 So I'm not comparing the two, but I want to make the comparison about legacy, the difference
6:01 between legacy and message.
6:04 Jesus Christ didn't leave a legacy, he left a message, he left a word, he left a following.
6:12 Jesus Christ when he was crucified rose again, it wasn't about his past life and for us to
6:22 necessarily worship him, it was the father above and the grace that he gave and the teachings
6:29 he left.
6:31 The example he gave us as being the only perfect human to ever walk this earth and it came
6:37 to be flesh to lead us, right?
6:44 So when you talk about Charlie, people say what legacy do you want him to have, Charlie
6:47 made it very clear, he wanted to make sure that he was a Christian first, that's who
6:51 he wanted to be, he wanted to be a Christian.
6:53 And then what he started was a movement to openly talk about your faith.
7:00 When the world at the time was trying to crush it by saying Christians were bigots and Christians
7:05 were hateful, Christians were closed-minded, Christians there was no place for them.
7:09 I mean it was traditional family values throughout the door and that was exactly what our founding
7:15 fathers by the way warned us about and that's exactly what Ronald Reagan warned us about.
7:20 That's a moral fabric of this country dies than this country dies and I think Charlie
7:26 understood that not from a political perspective but from a spiritual perspective and I mean
7:31 that sincerely because his desire was to love everybody.
7:41 I mean I mean that sincerely and there isn't anybody that was friends with Charlie that
7:47 can say they put more in a Charlie's life than Charlie put in your life.
7:51 Charlie led every time and he was 31 freaking years old, I mean how do you do that?
7:57 He gave us an example to be a husband, he gave us an example how to be a father, he gave
8:01 us an example how to be a leader in your organization, he gave us an example how to speak politics,
8:04 he gave us an example how to speak your faith, I mean he was just bold about it and so his
8:13 legacy is his message moving forward to continue that and people are receiving it in numbers
8:21 that you couldn't even imagine.
8:23 Last night Andrew, yesterday Andrew is producer who was a close friend and I had become friends
8:29 with Andrew lately, I was acquainted with Andrew because of Charlie since this assassination
8:37 Andrew and I are developing a friendship and he put out a thing yesterday on X that going
8:46 just give you some numbers, turning point USA had 9,000 chapters in college campuses and
8:52 1,100 chapters on high school campuses on September 10th, after Erica spoke for the
9:03 first time and addressed the world really that I mean immediately they had 15,000 requests
9:11 for turning point USA so it doubled almost.
9:15 By the next day it had doubled and the numbers continue to climb and going into the services
9:22 last Sunday which was a service like it was it's the first time I can actually said we
9:28 actually had a celebration of life I know that sound like the trend that everybody is
9:31 going to it's having a funeral they have a celebration of life but it feels like a funeral
9:36 when you go that Charlie's was a celebration of life it was the it was an awesome the one
9:42 of the most awesome emotional experiences that I've had and I mean that sincerely and but
9:50 going into that they were 62,000 requests last night Charlie put out and he said there was
9:59 over as over 100,000 but I want to say is like 112,000 or something I may be wrong but I
10:05 know it was over 100,000 requests now that came in since the services and he said effectively
10:09 now we have requested beyond every high school campus in the United States I wanted to point
10:15 this out.
10:16 A couple weeks before Charlie's assassination that's what he said his request was he wanted
10:20 to be on every camp high school campus in America and there's roughly 23,000 so now not
10:26 not only does he have all 23,000 now but now he's on other high school campuses around
10:32 the world and that impact is is unmeasurable and it's going to be you and I may not even
10:40 see the total impact of it but when we're too old to actually flux our muscles in about
10:44 20 years we're going to see the big we're going to see a real impact on it because this
10:50 generation X this generation Z and the generation Y and a generation has come before they were
11:01 lied to me by the left by the radical left and they bought into it and it didn't change
11:12 the outcome or the trajectory because people can only live and hate so long before you get
11:17 before it erodes and and that hate requires you know gasoline to constantly being thrown
11:24 on it and it's just you get tired of it and Charlie's message was so different that people
11:30 the college campuses started forming towards him but then for the whole world to see the
11:35 assassination of him when just minutes before he was talking about the gospel he was going
11:43 love and respect to people and in the middle of a question VNS about you know transgender
11:53 violence I'm paraphrasing that but that's but that's what the question was he gets assassinated
12:02 and it woke that generation up faster than anyone could imagine I want to I mean because
12:09 these aren't these aren't corporations this point up turning point USA chapters these
12:14 are yeah high schools and college campuses that are reaching out and asking for turning
12:20 point USA for a turning point USA chapter now the question is is what do you and I do with
12:26 that because we're not college or not high school what is what is the generation that
12:33 what role do we play in that right would you yeah would you agree yeah I think you're you're
12:40 spot on with that because I've I've wondered the loud like okay a hundred thousand new
12:46 campuses of high schools and colleges and all those different things well there's one
12:51 thing to get knowledge to people but the other part is wisdom knowledge can be gained by
12:55 anybody but wisdom and discernment is something different and so that's that's why I think
13:00 we have this very interesting moment because Mark Wayne I've said this a lot and I'm gonna
13:04 keep saying it even in future interviews one of the first thoughts I had after Charlie was
13:09 assassinated I felt like a Rubicon was crossed in a degree especially because we saw people
13:14 so many people come out and celebrate the murder of someone now again yes he was a father
13:22 and a husband and all those things but they're awful evil people that are fathers and husbands
13:28 but at the same time he was such a good man he he wanted his enemies to be on his side
13:36 of things but these demons that are coming out and celebrating that he's dead and celebrating
13:42 the tears of his widow I just I feel like something's been broken like the George Floyd
13:47 riots in the summer and all that it's it's like we've made it through like I don't think
13:50 the country's on the brink of you know disaster necessarily but it feels like the gloves are
13:55 off in this war against good and evil what do you think I don't I'll go I'll I'll push
14:02 against that a little bit I don't think so God said the word says that he'll expose the
14:07 man's heart right yeah and we're seeing it we're what you intended to be silent what you
14:15 intended to be covered up what you intended to be and in the darkness of night it says
14:22 that the Lord will expose it for all to see what's happened is because these individuals
14:27 now are celebrating the life of a of a good Christian moral man that wasn't seeking hatred
14:40 or or playing with fire those that are come out and celebrate it's exposed to them and
14:46 it's turned the ones that were following them away from them faster than they could then
14:50 Charlie than you than anyone could have ever done it's exposed who they are and people
14:56 are choosing sides but most are not choosing to stay with that side they don't want to
15:01 be associated with that they don't want their name to be associated their heart can't take
15:06 it the Lord built us and built us to be good now we're evil doers because we're sinful
15:12 but God built us and handed us to be good just like he intended us to walk forward not
15:16 backwards he intended us to love him but he couldn't enforce us to love him he tended
15:21 us to have a brain to build a make our own decision but he opened our eyes and gave us
15:25 wisdom to build a seed truth if we chose to see the truth because he was the way he's
15:29 the truth in the way right and the Lord is the one who gives us peace and joy and spirit
15:34 of love and happiness and rest the devil comes and still kill and destroy there's a complete
15:41 line that has been drawled because of this and people that had the seed of the Lord planted
15:46 in them because they've heard the gospel before they were raised that way but they chose to
15:50 go a different way or they had a friend that took on a church one day or they went to church
15:56 camp because they wanted to go away for the summer and they just went to go hang out but
15:59 the seed was planted the roots are starting to take hold and I mean that sincerely so there
16:04 has to be a division now the division of war the division are you going to be with good
16:09 or evil right which one are you going to go with and the people have woke up by it now
16:15 to go back to the question of what role do you and I play with this we have two roles
16:19 one we shepherd it it's not on us to lead it though and people look at me go what it's
16:26 not on us to lead it Charlie was leading at 18 years old there's a lot more tarlies out
16:32 there than what we know but word has shepherd it it's like Paul writing to the churches encouraging
16:40 them to root out the evil encourage them not to allow the manipulators and the Pharisees
16:47 to come in that's trying to draw in a division between the two to keep true and keep honest
16:56 and keep pure to the way the Lord Charlie's message is from us one to to make sure that
17:02 we're shepherding it and keeping in the right direction give the individuals going to lead
17:06 it in these chapters counsel wise counsel but give them the give them the the courage to
17:13 continue to speak and move forward and give them the financial support too and there's
17:17 ways that we can do that we can help financially and I'm not I'm not raising the money for turn
17:22 point USA they're raising plenty of money but people ask what what do you do well turn
17:26 point USA is financially helping the sponsors or sponsor these chapters but more than anything
17:32 sponsor the chapter in your backyard I mean give them the finances given the resource
17:37 you're not talking about a million dollars you're talking about you know probably a couple hundred
17:45 dollars a month that they could run the whole chapter on I'm not kidding so not everybody
17:50 not one person has to do that but we need it we need to we need to encourage these individuals
17:55 we need to be like youth pastors and youth leaders in these turning point USA chapters
18:02 and I mean this sincerely youth groups need to churches need to be stepping up and sponsoring
18:11 these to some degree with it to some degree to some degree right because that's our role
18:19 if we're going to help Eric and make it bigger and better 10 times bigger and better than ever
18:24 and we all want to cheer then we got to put our our feet down and walk and you go where do you
18:34 get started get started I don't know I mean I don't know like how do you start this podcast

20:29 undaunted to get 10% off your order when I think we've got a lot of opportunities here and again
20:36 the dust has yet to settle from from this but I mean the images that we saw from the event from
20:43 the memorial over the weekend Erica forgiving her husband's assassin like being a picture of the
20:51 gospel I mean I just like I don't know how you can watch that and not just weep and you know just
20:56 the music go ahead I'm just saying I was losing most of the whole time she was saying that I'm
21:01 sitting there you know I'm sitting right behind uh tall sea and the whole cabinet and and um
21:10 all of us saw where she was going with that and I honest I was thinking surely not
21:18 I mean I was getting emotional like I was getting goosebumps I was like surely not
21:23 and when she just forced it at I mean she forced it at that wasn't natural but there's nothing
21:30 natural about that she forced it out you heard the you heard the entire
21:36 you heard a gasp all at once by a hundred a thousand people and uh yeah it was that's what
21:51 that is the most moving except it was I can't even describe it I don't even know you hear about
22:01 people like that but I've never witnessed it before and the whole world witnessed it that's grace
22:12 I don't even like one I mean I've Mark Wayne I've seen videos of people add a sentencing hearing
22:19 for somebody that killed one of their family members going and forgiving them I heard about
22:23 after Dylan Roof went in and shot up a black church specifically a racist killing to kill black
22:28 people within 24 hours surviving congregants of that church one by one went before Dylan Roof
22:35 you know through a screen or whatever and forgave him for killing their family members but you know
22:41 I said this about the memorial uh it was the biggest gathering where a gospel message was put out in
22:48 the history of humanity you know well over a hundred million uh people were viewing the stream
22:53 according to the tpusa the clips that have been made and sent out millions of times even just since
22:58 sunday uh but for you I'm just curious being in that room because obviously it's significant
23:04 you know it had super bowl inauguration level security um it was treated with a tremendous
23:09 amount of security but also reverence but you do have basically the entire cabinet there you
23:14 have Donald Trump there like you have uh the the vice president there you have secretary of state
23:19 you have all these these people there what was the mood like because it's one thing you know like
23:25 when George Floyd died a bunch of politicians had to pretend they cared about a derelict criminal
23:29 who was a predator in his local community they had to just pretend but these were people that for
23:33 the most part knew Charlie and if they didn't know him personally they knew the impact of what he
23:38 was doing in the movement he was having with the youth so what did it what did it honestly feel
23:43 like what did it what were the conversations like amongst all those folks including you
23:47 you know we all set together and it was the entire the entire cabinet was there i mean the entire
23:53 cabinet was there uh the only thing it wasn't there was a joint chase of staff and the and the
23:59 the difference between a joint session and this is that the democrats wasn't there and not all the
24:04 members were there and you didn't see that the you know our we didn't see our supreme court justice
24:08 there in the in the cabinet or in the in the joint chase of staff but the mood
24:15 would his pastor took the stage to open it up he set the tone yeah now people were talking
24:27 people were communicating people are laughing but there's a spirit of love through the whole
24:34 place and then one by one you saw the cabinet members get up and talk about our savior lord
24:43 jesus christ and i sit there and i watched it and i thought how different this would have been
24:51 a year ago because there wasn't a single person in that last cabinet that would have spoke bold
24:59 about their faith i'm not saying they're not christians that's not my judgment that's that's
25:04 that's on the lord doesn't judge that i'm not i'm not making those judgment because people
25:07 say i'm not a christian either because i tell their people i'm more reciprocated in the world
25:11 problem one mistake away being exposed to the guy that i i guess i truly am but to hear the entire
25:17 cabinet that spoke not everybody spoke from the cabinet but i'm saying that everyone that spoke
25:24 from the president to the vice president to even don jr speaking about the scriptures
25:30 and then having marco rubio preach a message
25:37 and having peace hegs to preach a message having tulsi gabra preach a message
25:44 about the love and respect of jesus christ and the grace that he gives us
25:53 i just think god that his timing is perfect because he says this timing is perfect
26:01 we get impatient and we don't see it we don't see what's happening around us
26:05 but think of the difference in that service if it would have been at this same thing would
26:09 happen a year ago think of the difference in the way washing dc is looked at today think of the
26:14 people that's running this country from a year ago to where we are today think of that
26:20 because you've got to see it on full display people one after another talking about
26:27 talking about
26:32 i don't know i don't know about jesus i mean that's a simple way to say talking about jesus
26:39 talking about the love of jesus talking about the grace of jesus talking about the salvation
26:42 of jesus christ talking i mean how many times does people tell you how many times did you hear
26:46 people say you need to get right with the lord if you don't know him get right with the
26:50 lord when the pastor gave the altar call i mean literally gave the altar calls but i'm calling
26:54 i'm old pentecostal guy when he gave the when he gave the when he gave the altar call and said
26:59 if you don't know the lord jesus christ your personal savior can you stand your feet right
27:03 now i don't know how many people stood up i don't know there was thousands that stood up across that
27:10 place how many more around the world do we not know it and that's the move that was this place i mean
27:20 during during praise and worship when they were playing praise and worship songs
27:24 people raising their hands i mean people were raising their hands down at the cabinet members
27:29 were raising their hands i mean the people in the vip section was raised up in the up in the stands
27:34 people were just praising the lord i mean it was the it was i i i you can't even describe it
27:41 and this was that this was this was all honoring the memory of a guy who was 31 years old
27:48 i'm going to impact that i just i'll just leave it leave you with this
27:51 and then we can go wherever you want to talk about but my mom sent me a text message and my
27:56 mom's probably texted me five times since the invention of text and so she sent me a text message
28:01 that i had to scroll up and by the way for anybody that knows me that has my stuff on number
28:06 if you send me a text that i got to scroll up on i'm not reading it i'm just telling you i'm not
28:10 reading it in fact if it takes my if it takes up the the entire screen i'm not reading it if you
28:16 needed text something i may pick up the phone and call me right um that's when the text message
28:20 she said say call me but my mom sent me this big o long text message that has to scroll up twice
28:26 on and she said to me paraphrasing it she said mark lane i know you're hurting because he was your
28:33 friend and i'm seeing on tv and i can see it and i've dealt with a lot and she said i know you dealt
28:41 with a lot of death in your life because i have um a lot and i and death doesn't bother me like
28:47 you would think it just it just doesn't uh my mom my wife says i'm cold hearted or something i don't
28:55 know i'm just it just typically doesn't bother me it's just like yeah this sucks but i still
29:00 have the memory of you um less embrace your loved ones and move on um that's a callous way to say it
29:07 i'm sorry but it's way i am but she said i'm i just want to point something out
29:11 to you why it was the senseless killing you got to realize this his spirit knew he had a short time
29:20 his spirit knew he had a short time he was built for 31 years
29:29 and she said just like somebody else is built for 33 years and i thought okay at that point things
29:38 changed my mindset was like okay all right and if you believe in the sovereignty of god you believe
29:44 that our days are numbered like they are exactly numbered and there's no surprise uh from god's
29:49 perspective so uh we'll we'll wrap up just talking about this because i think we've a lot of people
29:55 memorializing the different things then there's the practical side of the investigation um
30:01 yeah you're good let me make sure it's still recording all right it looks like it's still
30:09 recording all right so one thing that i think is important to discuss as well is obviously the
30:18 hang on let me make sure it says recording but yeah it's still recording let me make that note
30:26 all right this will be the last one so Mark Wayne with the memorials and with all the other
30:37 different things there's still the reality of the investigation because here we are years later
30:43 and we can look back we don't really know a whole lot about the Las Vegas shooter that shot up a
30:47 Jason Aldean concert we don't know a whole lot about the shooter that tried to kill president
30:53 trump on the campaign trail and with the shooter now like obviously he's still alive uh you know
30:59 hopefully he he stays alive so he can face justice and then be killed uh for his crimes but the
31:06 investigation seems uh like it should be widened because there are so many people online that seem
31:12 to have september the 10th in utah circled on their calendars and they seem to this this underbody
31:18 of people uh this undercurrent of people i guess seem to have an idea that something was going to
31:22 go down that day so the idea that this one kid decided this one young man decided that he was
31:27 going to do this and no one else had any uh idea was going to happen didn't help him with it seems
31:33 a little bit foolhardy and i i don't want to play into the conspiracy games of a lot of things because
31:37 a lot of people are talking conspiracies about where the shot came from and but i mean there are
31:41 some things that stink about the situation but that a real good investigation could clear up so
31:46 what are your thoughts on where the investigation stands now and where it'll go yeah so people love
31:51 to chase theories i mean there's theories as soon as it came out i had a theory um but the fact is
31:58 on a case like this when our ic community was monitoring what was going on um we knew we had
32:08 threats the ic world was working with his detail uh the more people that know
32:16 the more people have a tendency to tell somebody else and i'm not saying this is the case here but
32:25 it appears to be this is that the most dangerous people you deal with are the lone wolves the ones
32:32 that just have it in their head we we don't think for any reason i was starting to cash about this
32:38 just the other day um cash to tell he said we we 100 believe his
32:44 live-in person uh did have a clue had no idea well if his live-in person didn't know
32:52 then uh and i'm not trying to be politically correct i just don't know what the correct term
32:59 is okay so that's why i'm saying person his gay transferee boyfriend there you go they're
33:03 your politically correct phrase but they're saying that they don't know they don't know they don't
33:08 believe he that he she knew and uh and so all these people about saying he had to help help
33:16 i don't know i i i the lone wolf ones are the ones that always just surprise you because there's two
33:23 people know typically six people know and a six people know typically 12 and a 12 people know
33:28 24 now is pretty quick and the number doubles really quick because someone always tells someone
33:33 else because it's a you know trusted friend and uh and someone finds out and you hear chatter some
33:42 place online someplace someone tips someone off so in this case it appears now the investigation
33:50 will go thorough it would be very thorough and if anybody's there it'll be exposed i promise you
33:53 there's a lot of motivated people when you got the president of the united states addressing the world
33:58 from the oval office the night of the assassination i promise you everybody woke up and said we're
34:04 going to get to the bottom of this um guaranteed we're going to get the bottom of it so we will
34:10 get to the bottom of it but it appears that this person is that that the hardest ones in the world
34:16 to prevent in the lone wolf all right well uh we're definitely in a different country than we were
