This is Undaunted Life, a man's podcast.
1:19
I'm your host Kyle Thompson.
1:21
Let's get into it.
1:23
Mark Wayne Mullen, you're back on the show, but I just wanted to throw something out there
1:26
right from the beginning.
1:27
Just ask you off air if you're ready to get in trouble, which is always what I ask people
1:31
that keep coming back on the show because it's like, "Are you a glutton for punishment?"
1:34
But the thing is, I'm doing something new with my beard.
1:37
I'm wanting to see how long I can get it before my wife completely goes crazy, but I think
1:43
if you join me in this, that she might just relent and be like, "Hey, if MWM does it,
1:49
then you can do it."
1:50
What do you think?
1:51
Hey, here's my issue, is my beard doesn't grow down.
1:55
It grows out.
1:56
When I used to do some stuff overseas and I'd come back, I looked unrecognizable and
2:03
I kid you not.
2:04
One time I came back and I'd been over the Middle East for a little bit.
2:06
I came home unannounced and my son, Andrew, literally pulled a shotgun out on me.
2:12
I'm not kidding.
2:14
When I was younger, my beard was red like yours.
2:16
It was a dark, deep red, which was so different because the hair color was quite different,
2:22
but it grows this way, so it doesn't grow this way.
2:25
Let me just help you with that.
2:27
This is what you do.
2:28
There's a whole process.
2:30
You make sure you shampoo it, get all lathered up in the shower.
2:33
When you get out of the shower, no, no, no, wait, wait, hang with me.
2:36
You get out of the shower, then you get some beard oil.
2:39
You do some drops, rub it in, warm it up, get it all in there.
2:42
That helps keep you from getting the beard itch.
2:44
Then, as you're doing your hair, which clearly looks like it takes you forever, this is the
2:49
key, beard butter.
2:52
You get you some beard butter.
2:54
You rub that in, and then you go down with it.
2:56
You get you a little brush, comb it down, fluff out the bottom.
2:59
It's a whole process, but it'll just...
3:01
Do you shave your legs?
3:03
I mean, the part's that, you know.
3:07
Maybe...
3:08
I don't know.
3:09
Do you shave your legs?
3:10
Do you shave your arms?
3:11
I don't shave my arms.
3:12
I do trim them because I don't know if you've ever done this, but I never tried to get some.
3:16
You lost me a long time ago when you said all the extra work.
3:20
I think that every day, I'm not a female, never would I transition because all the stuff
3:26
about the beard you said is way too much work for me.
3:30
No, no, no.
3:31
It's about the effect on the back.
3:32
That's like saying...
3:33
That's like saying working out's too complicated.
3:35
I shouldn't do it.
3:36
No, no, no.
3:37
It's about the effect on the back.
3:38
It's different than the beauty product.
3:39
Okay, but...
3:40
You've got makeup on that they too, don't you?
3:41
Oh, no.
3:42
No, no, no makeup.
3:43
No makeup.
3:44
No makeup.
3:45
Right.
3:46
You just describe all this stuff you do with your beard.
3:47
You're shaving your legs.
3:48
You definitely have makeup on.
3:49
You're going to come in and you're going to be dressing a skirt.
3:51
I already know it.
3:52
I've already come in a top hat and a tuxedo, so the skirt is the obvious next thing.
3:56
But like, yes, I do trim my arm here, but the reason is very, very practical.
3:59
It's all about practicality because I have really hairy arms, but I'm also a ginger.
4:03
So if I go outside for more than seven minutes, I start to burn.
4:07
And so if you've ever tried to put sunscreen on this, it's like trying to get peanut butter
4:10
out of shag carpet.
4:11
Like it's a problem.
4:12
Okay.
4:13
You justify whatever you want.
4:15
I will agree with you, man, but I'm just, I'm just, you know, too much work.
4:20
Well, here's your, your beautiful transition.
4:23
Speaking of justifying things that don't make sense.
4:25
No, I know different transition.
4:27
I'm transitioning into my question.
4:29
So speaking of justifying things that don't make sense, the Biden administration seems
4:34
to be justifying their waning support for Israel.
4:38
Okay.
4:39
So there's been a lot of things that have happened over the last several weeks.
4:41
Obviously, a lot's been made of the number of civilians that have been killed during
4:44
this conflict, even though people don't really take into, take into consideration, the number
4:50
of civilians that die in any war, as even the ones that America is responsible for being
4:56
in, but also that they wouldn't even be in this war if Hamas hadn't done what they did
5:01
back in October of last year.
5:03
But I will say for people that support Israel, of which I am a huge supporter of which you
5:07
are a huge supporter, I am very, very concerned about the signals that the Biden administration
5:12
is sending concerning their support for Israel because the president does essentially have
5:17
unilateral control to a degree on foreign policy, not on, on funding.
5:21
That is a congressional thing, obviously, but I'm very concerned about the things the
5:25
Biden administration is saying concerning Israel.
5:28
I'd like to get your take on it.
5:30
Yeah, I, it's political for them, you know, for them, let's back this up, I, I, I, I was
5:37
raised Pentecost the whole, it's my whole life, I'm not saying I'm a, I'm a good guy,
5:42
and I'm this, you know, great Christian.
5:44
I try to be, I mess up every day, I mess up daily hour, hourly, probably, okay.
5:51
So don't, don't think I'm like this great Christian guy, I just try to be a good Christian.
5:57
But I also believe truth in the Bible and I believe the Bible from Genesis to, to revelations
6:04
and there is, there is no, there is no gray area.
6:07
I don't take scriptures out, I believe it as it says it.
6:09
And it says that a nation that stands with Israel is a blessed nation.
6:14
I want to be a blessed nation.
6:15
Okay.
6:16
I'm not going to play games with this.
6:19
Not only than an ally and a good friend of ours, most of them are also dual citizenships.
6:24
A lot of the population is Americans.
6:27
At the same time, I, I want to be a blessed nation.
6:30
So that's why we want to stand with them.
6:32
For the President of the United States to waver a little bit, scares the living daylights
6:36
out of me.
6:37
But he's also doing it for no other reason than for political purposes.
6:41
Go back to what we saw in Michigan over the weekend, literally in Michigan, United States.
6:47
It sounded like we were looking, we were listening to, to a protest in Iran chanting death to
6:56
America.
6:57
And everything didn't do is burn our flag.
7:00
However, that voting block is a voting block of the squad.
7:06
And they are needing that voting block.
7:08
And they also need Michigan.
7:10
Michigan is at play for the Senate and is also a toss up state.
7:14
It's a purple state.
7:15
It's not a hard blue state.
7:17
And so what you have here is you have a President that's pandering to a hard Democrat, hard
7:22
left Democrat vote block.
7:27
And it's putting our reputation and our allies at risk when they see us wavering with the
7:36
United States internationally.
7:38
They see it the United States wavering with Israel.
7:42
That is a huge red flag to countries like Jordan, countries like UAE, countries like
7:48
Saudi Arabia who's on the fence to begin with, countries like Egypt.
7:54
And then on top of that, they see us wavering with our commitment to Ukraine, even though
7:57
we signed a Budapest memorandum, gave them our word that we'd be there with them.
8:02
They saw the way we walked away from Afghanistan and left American citizens, SIV, special immigration
8:09
visas, which these individuals that worked with us, they worked in the intel community,
8:13
their lives at threat, we left them behind.
8:16
All those are signals of saying America isn't what it used to be.
8:22
And we need to start realigning, which plays right into the hand of China, right into the
8:26
hands of Russia, because there are little two countries that can backfill for us.
8:30
So what it means politically is it's a very dangerous move.
8:34
What it means economically is exactly what the word says is that a nation that stands
8:41
with Israel as a blessed nation.
8:43
So it could have complete reverse effect, which the irony of that, right?
8:48
30% inflation and energy alone, and the economists now are starting to say that we could easily
8:57
expect possibly another 8% real inflation, not hard inflation, which was what the numbers
9:03
they can play with, but actual scene inflation.
9:06
So even though they say 19%, you're actually could be filling more like 24 to 27% inflation.
9:13
And that worries me.
9:15
That certainly worries me and the signals that are being sent, obviously anybody that
9:19
even you don't even have to be an astute political observer to be like, they're signaling this
9:23
to get a few thousand people that are Hamas sympathizers in Michigan to vote the way that
9:29
they want.
9:30
And it's like you're literally risking our relationship with the only democracy in the
9:34
Middle East because you want to win Michigan.
9:37
Like it's kind of diabolical and keep in mind to Hamas and they don't say Hamas, right?
9:43
They say Palestine, you know, Palestinians are dying, Palestinians are dying.
9:48
They never say Hamas.
9:50
Keep in mind though, there's two areas where the Palestinians live.
9:54
One is called Gaza.
9:55
One is the West Bank.
9:57
So if you take Israel and you it's not really the shape of this, but I'm just going to use
10:01
this as an example, you take Israel and you say it's the shape of Florida, but much more
10:05
narrow.
10:06
The distance between Gaza and the West Bank is literally measured in miles and I'm talking
10:13
about a hundred miles.
10:14
I'm talking about like, I'm throwing this number out, this is not accurate.
10:18
So just people that are back finding don't come hit me on this one.
10:22
Let's say it's 30 miles.
10:26
People in the West Bank chose, they elected to be ruled by the Palestinian government.
10:33
The people in Gaza chose to live underneath Hamas rule and put a terrorist organization.
10:40
They could have, they could have voted if they had the vote to either vote for the Palestinian
10:45
rule or Hamas.
10:46
They chose to live underneath Hamas rule.
10:49
So those people that live in Gaza, it's not like a ghetto where they were pushed and forced
10:54
to live there.
10:55
They're not, it's not like they couldn't leave at any time they wanted to.
10:58
They chose to live underneath Hamas.
11:01
It's a terrorist organization and for the President of the United States to start calling
11:05
on Israel to lay down their arms for a ceasefire.
11:08
Why wouldn't we be calling on Hamas to lay down their arms?
11:12
If they want the fighting to quilt, if these individuals that are protesting against Israel
11:17
and against the United States, if they really care for the lives of the individuals that
11:21
live in Gaza, then they would be calling on Hamas to lay down their arms.
11:28
Because if Hamas lay down their arms, the fighting would stop.
11:31
If Israel lays down their arms, the fighting will not stop because it's a terrorist organization
11:37
that uses human shields.
11:40
These parents of these kids allowed Hamas to build bunkers underneath their school.
11:48
They allowed Hamas to shoot rockets into Israel around their school where their kids went
11:54
to school.
11:56
These are the same parents that voted in Hamas.
11:59
The people of Hamas that live in Gaza turned a blind eye or supported them as they were
12:06
building tunnels underneath their hospitals.
12:09
They knew exactly what they were doing.
12:11
There's no way they could hide what they were doing.
12:13
They knew exactly what they're doing.
12:15
So don't go to me and start chanting genocide and how the United States is supporting genocide
12:21
from Israel, protecting itself and totally forgetting about Hamas is the one that started
12:27
it.
12:28
Hamas is a terrorist organization that Hamas should be should be the one that stopped the
12:31
fight.
12:32
Not Israel.
12:33
Well, and here's here's a nice thing for people that think genocide is currently happening
12:36
in in to Palestinians in Gaza.
12:40
Which side has nukes Hamas doesn't have nukes Israel does.
12:43
So if they wanted to obliterate the entire population of Palestine and if they wanted
12:49
to obliterate all the citizenry, the combatants and noncombatants, they could do it in an
12:53
afternoon.
12:54
And they're not doing that.
12:55
They're actually risking lives and losing their own military members that are casualties
13:00
or actually killed in this conflict because they're trying not to kill innocents.
13:05
This is a complete it's bizarre world.
13:07
It's backwards world.
13:08
They don't have to use nukes to even do that because people say, well, no, we're into
13:13
Israel.
13:14
True.
13:15
But they could carpet bomb the entire Gaza area and level it.
13:21
They have they have the strongest Air Force in the region that's without question Israel
13:27
has the strongest Air Force in the region.
13:29
Why?
13:30
Because a lot of their pilots were trained inside the United States and they fly our planes.
13:33
They could level the place in one afternoon if they wanted to.
13:38
So I'm the same thing.
13:40
Don't talk about genocide to me.
13:41
We're trying to cut the head, the snake off that attacked them on October 7th that did
13:46
horrific acts that cooked babies, literally cooked them alive in ovens.
13:53
They raped and mangled babies.
13:56
They raped and mangled women and children of all ages.
14:02
I say children because it happened to young boys too.
14:05
It is mind blowing the mindset that they had and people ignore this.
14:11
They absolutely ignore it.
14:13
And here the Biden administration won't even call these individuals that were chanting
14:17
this weekend, death to America won't even call them domestic terrorists.
14:23
Yet the same administration will say the biggest threat to the United States is the
14:27
MAGA movement and say that's a huge threat to the democracy and they literally label
14:33
some groups as domestic terrorists that are proudly carrying the flag.
14:39
Well Mark Wayne, if we were a serious country, if somebody were here chanting death to America
14:44
in any language, much less Arabic, it'd be like, well, you are forfeiting your citizenship.
14:49
So we will give you a one way plane ticket anywhere on the planet.
14:52
So pick your favorite Middle Eastern country to go to and we'll send you there.
14:57
Yeah, which is interesting because most of these individuals that are over here chanting
15:00
death to America, they left the country they're at.
15:04
Exactly.
15:05
And that's something that I never understood.
15:06
And chose to come to the United States.
15:09
We didn't force them to come to the United States.
15:11
We didn't make them come here.
15:13
They chose to come to the United States and now they're saying death to America, the same
15:17
country that gave you an opportunity.
15:19
Now go back to the country you came from and chant death to your country or go after or
15:25
speak out politically against the regime that's running it and see how long you live.
15:31
Yeah, let's send you back to Syria with your queers for Palestine signs and stuff like
15:37
that and your purple hair and your your nose rings and all that and let's just see how long
15:41
it takes before they throw you off a building just for quote unquote being who God made you
15:45
to be.
15:46
Now we're running a little bit short on time today.
15:48
So I do want to get into something that's tangentially related to the Israel thing.
15:52
But Mark Wayne, there seems to be a dichotomy with everybody, Republican, independent and
15:57
Democrat.
15:59
There's this dichotomy between the support for Israel and support for Ukraine.
16:04
Everyone seems to have their own nuanced view about whether or not we should do this or
16:07
that.
16:08
A lot of the people who would maybe call themselves a MAGA Republican are 100% in support of Israel
16:13
but 0% in support of Ukraine.
16:15
And then there are other conservatives that are kind of split down the middle to where
16:18
it's like, yes, we need to support Israel no matter what they want to do.
16:21
But also we need to at least give Ukraine the defensive ability to keep Russia from overtaking
16:26
their entire country.
16:27
I got to say, Mark Wayne, like I've got my own opinions on it, but it's very confusing.
16:31
But as a representative of not only me and my state of Oklahoma, but also the United
16:34
States writ large, how should we view support for both Israel and Ukraine?
16:40
Well, it's political when you start looking at it, politically speaking that you can't
16:44
have want some people say, well, you should have Israel vote by itself, Ukraine's vote
16:49
by itself, Indo-Pacific, Taiwan by itself, and in the border by itself.
16:55
Okay, there's not enough votes to get any of that by itself because there's a group
17:00
people that will not support Democrats border security.
17:03
There's a group of people that will not support Ukraine, mainly Republicans.
17:07
There's a group of people that will not support Israel, mainly Democrats.
17:11
In fact, Democrats, Republicans, I don't know anybody that's voting against that.
17:16
And then Indo-Pacific is like, but it's all important because it's all about our national
17:22
security posture and international security posture as well.
17:28
There's this movement among Republicans at this point that's actually pushing itself
17:34
to become an isolationist country.
17:36
Why are we involved in foreign affairs?
17:37
Why are we doing this?
17:38
Why are we doing that?
17:39
Because somebody has to.
17:40
And if the United States isn't there, then the gap is only going to be filled either
17:45
by a communist country in China or a dictator country, communist country, in Russia, led
17:53
by President Xi or led by Putin.
17:56
When you control the world and you're the world, please, you also control the economy.
18:02
If you control the economy, do you think the dollar will still be the number one currency
18:07
in the world that will set the standard, or do you think maybe the yen or the ruble might
18:12
take its place?
18:13
Well, if you're the dominant country, your currency is going to probably be it.
18:19
And then they slowly allow us to be an isolation country.
18:22
They push us into a weaker and weaker state.
18:27
They have no intentions of invading us until their point gets to so weak that we can't
18:31
make it by ourselves.
18:33
But they can push us and make it so irrelevant.
18:35
And every time we waver on support of a country that is an ally with us, because it is our
18:42
role, we are there to assist.
18:44
That's why people are allies with us.
18:46
They're not all allies with us just because we're good people.
18:48
Some people just don't like redheads, but they like you because, well, because they
18:53
do business with you.
18:54
And I'm certain that's just the way that works.
18:55
Some people don't like us because we're Americans and we think we're better than everybody else.
19:00
But they want to do business with us because economically it's important for them to do
19:05
business with us.
19:06
So it all has a give and take.
19:08
At the end of the day, we have to be there or someone else is going to fill that vacuum.
19:12
And if we waver on our allies, like if we waver on Israel, it sends back signals.
19:17
If we waver on Ukraine, when we asked them to give up their nuclear weapons in 1994 and
19:23
said, if you do so, we will be there in the event that you get invaded by Russia specifically.
19:30
And we signed the Budapest memorandum tell them that and we waver on that, then that means
19:34
the word of the United States isn't any good.
19:38
And what has always been the most powerful thing about the United States is everybody
19:44
could trust what we said.
19:46
If we said something, we were going to do it.
19:50
Other countries wasn't able to fulfill that promise.
19:52
We have historically have always been able to fulfill that promise.
19:56
And now we're wavering on a word.
19:58
And that is a huge red flag around the world, which is why you see him president, she be
20:03
so aggressive with his one belt and one road initiative because he sees where America's
20:07
going, and he's preparing himself to fill that void because of China wants to be the
20:11
world power.
20:12
Yeah, it's certainly a red flag.
20:13
We got 30 seconds left.
20:14
So I just want your prediction before the election in November.
20:18
Do you think that Joe Biden will address the nation and specifically ask for Israel to
20:23
stand down?
20:25
Whoa.
20:29
The direction that he's going now, I haven't really gave a lot of thought that.
20:32
So you pull me off the left field here, but Kyle, the direction that he's going now,
20:37
I would see it.
20:38
If you would have asked me this six weeks ago, like, no way you could do that.
20:43
But he's already signaling that right now.
20:45
So I mean, I think there's a, I think there's a real possibility that could happen politically.
20:55
It's way he's, he's mitigating it.
20:57
He thinks that that's a stronger voting block for him.
21:00
So maybe so.
21:03
All right, we'll just have to see.
