This is Undaunted Life, a Man's Podcast.
1:22
I'm your host Kyle Thompson.
1:24
Let's get into it.
1:25
Hi, guys.
1:26
As you know, we've been talking to several guys that have already been a part of the Dominion
1:29
Program, or are currently going through the Dominion Program, and so we have a representative
1:32
of Team Two, Dominion Team Two, so that's Mitch Arenda, so Mitch, thank you for coming
1:36
on the show, and just as a wave introduction, we need to know, where are you located?
1:40
What do you do for a living?
1:41
How old are you?
1:42
Let's just start with the basic stuff.
1:44
I located in Cincinnati, Ohio, commercial real estate development and redevelopment, and
1:50
I'm 30 years old.
1:52
Okay, so now from Ohio, and so people are automatically thinking like, "Oh, did you go
1:58
to the Ohio State, and why do they put a capital all capped, the in front of Ohio State?
2:04
Can you set the record straight for us?"
2:05
Arrogant, cocky, other words, I won't use.
2:10
I'm a Penn State guy, and we don't have to go down that route, Kyle, we've done it before,
2:14
but I am as anti-Ohio State as one can get.
2:18
I just so happen to live in the same States as many of these folks.
2:22
Well, we're either going to get people excited about you, or they're going to be really, really
2:26
mad at you.
2:27
So, when you compare Big Ten football or B.I.G. football, or whatever that stupid logo is,
2:32
where it's like a 10, but it's a G, so big football, and SEC football.
2:37
All right, so I'm from Big 12 Country, but the Big 12 technically doesn't exist anymore,
2:41
or whatever, sorry, shots fired.
2:44
But what do you think?
2:45
Yeah, I mean, if you were being honest, you know, gun to your head, better players, better
2:50
overall game play, better school, I mean, what are you going on?
2:54
Let's not get emotional about it, and let's stick with statistics and, like, facts in
3:00
history.
3:01
Okay, all right.
3:02
In most recent history, we had a national champion two years ago, right?
3:05
And then we had a national champion this year.
3:09
What kind of crisis?
3:10
What about, like, the previous 20 years?
3:12
I said, "What?"
3:13
I'm having trouble.
3:14
Are you asking about now, or are you asking about history?
3:18
Like, where are we at?
3:20
Hey, three years ago is still now, and, you know, basically, hey, and if football were
3:25
a woman, they remember everything for all time.
3:27
Okay, and so let's start counting up the champions for forever, so I don't know where
3:31
that would end up.
3:32
But we're not talking about football.
3:33
All I say is the last word.
3:35
The whiteout is better than Georgia's environment tell Jobe that, and I'll tell them that too.
3:42
The whiteout, oh, shots fired directly at Jobe.
3:45
He's not even trying to--
3:46
I had to do it.
3:47
He thinks SEC is end-all be-all, I just got to say.
3:51
There's more to the world.
3:52
Well, Mitch, I just got to tell you, he's been to a lot of SEC football games.
3:56
I've been to a couple of big 12 games.
3:58
I've never experienced a big 10 games, so I think the way that we fix this is the next
4:02
whiteout, or where there's, like, a big game that Penn State's going to lose, because anytime
4:06
they play someone at the top five, that's what happens.
4:08
But, like, when there's a big game like that, that happens, just invite Jobe and I up there
4:12
flies on your private jet or whatever you got, because everyone in Ohio apparently has
4:15
one of those.
4:16
And then just zip us on up there, and then we can experience it for ourselves, we say.
4:19
Note it.
4:20
All right, note it.
4:21
He's written it down, guys.
4:22
But we got to get to some business today, but obviously you and I have known each other
4:26
for a while now.
4:27
But I just want to, first of all, get an idea.
4:29
How did you find Undaunted Life?
4:31
Why in the world do you still consume Undaunted Life content?
4:33
Kind of how did all that start?
4:35
I started searching diligently for biblically rooted content for men a while ago.
4:45
This is probably, like, pre-COVID or COVID time, something like that.
4:50
And you came up, you popped up.
4:52
I don't really remember how you popped up, but you popped up, and you are a fierce and
4:58
vicious redhead, and I love that about you, Kyle.
5:02
And you're not afraid to say it how it is, and that's truly what I was looking for, someone
5:05
who's not afraid to say it how it is, to save the truth and to stand firm on the truth.
5:09
And so I found that in Undaunted Life, and I've just been listening and following ever
5:13
since then.
5:14
Yeah.
5:15
And so it's so interesting and fun for me.
5:18
The people that reach out, it's everything from, like, 14, 15-year-old boys that, you
5:23
know, started listening to this, it's like they're one of their first podcasts to guys
5:26
in their 70s and 80s that are like, hey, I've never heard anyone talk this way, and so it's
5:30
weird kind of being in the middle of all those different generations.
5:33
And now in terms of the Dominion program, so you were one of the people that signed up
5:37
or put in an application whenever we announced it publicly, because Team One was private.
5:42
We were just kind of doing it almost like a beta.
5:44
Is this really going to work?
5:45
Are guys really going to be into this?
5:46
And it just went so spectacularly, we're like, okay, we got to roll this out.
5:50
But it was still kind of a smaller rollout, right?
5:53
So I talked about it on the show where you're immediately flooded with applications, but
5:57
there's not like a huge staff of people here that were handling the application.
6:01
So it was just me.
6:02
So here I am like, oh, my Google Docs, like, you know, looking at the different people
6:06
that put in their applications and reading them and trying to find time.
6:09
And if I remember correctly, I was, I was in Jacksonville when we did your interview because
6:15
I was supposed to be doing something else.
6:17
I was in town for something else that fell through and I'm like, what the heck am I going
6:19
to do?
6:20
I've got like two days to waste.
6:21
So I was like, okay, I'll do some more, some more interviews.
6:24
And so I sent a second email out to a small group of people, I was like, Hey, I've got
6:28
this many interview slots, I'm sitting in a hotel room, like, you know, strike while
6:32
the iron's hot.
6:33
And I think you were one of those when I was in Jacksonville.
6:35
But what was it about what we said about the Dominion program publicly through the podcast
6:39
on our email list where you're like, okay, that's something I at least need to apply
6:42
for and look into a little bit further.
6:46
I think one thing that really caught my attention.
6:49
So I, again, another season of life where I've been seeking for mentorship that's biblically
6:54
rooted, that can help me grow in areas of a father, a husband, a father and a business
6:59
and an entrepreneur.
7:00
So I'm looking for that right now.
7:02
And then you start coming out with the Dominion marketing and stuff like that, but you use
7:06
specific language like guys who are killers, guys who are elite, guys who are like ruthlessly
7:13
trying to grow.
7:15
And that's what really triggered in me in interest to at least explore it more and talk
7:21
to you and figure out what this is all about because I've just noticed in life when you're
7:26
surrounded by guys like that, and guys who are, again, it's another one of those in line
7:31
with tell you how it is things like I'm not, you're not trying to tell people what they
7:34
want to hear, you're trying to tell people what they need to hear.
7:37
And when you're surrounded by guys like that who have, who are, who are seeking that out
7:41
and guys like maybe who have been there done that, who are feeding into others, you can't
7:45
help but grow and grow near to the Lord, which is ultimately what I was looking for.
7:51
And I remember at the beginning when I started talking about like, hey, I'm looking for
7:54
killers.
7:55
Like some people are kind of uncomfortable with that language because obviously I'm not talking
7:57
about people that murder other humans, but it's that, that killer instinct, that killer
8:01
mindset to where guys want to be elite.
8:04
They don't just want to be a dad.
8:05
They want to be an elite level dad.
8:06
They don't want to be a husband.
8:07
They want to be elite level husband.
8:09
They don't want to be just a member of their church.
8:10
They like, they want to serve the local body of believers in an elite way.
8:14
And so when I use that language, like I'm looking for killers, killers understand what
8:17
I'm saying.
8:18
So if someone were to say that to me, I'd be like, oh yeah, that's, that's kind of my
8:21
mentality.
8:22
Like it's not killer be killed.
8:23
It's just having that killer mindset.
8:25
But I guess for you, it's always, I don't know if I've, I've asked you this, but you
8:29
know, we've evolved the program a little bit to include a couple of different tracks and
8:33
you went with the track that gets a lot of one on one access with me.
8:37
And so every month we're, we're doing one on one interactions.
8:41
And also you're, you're coming out to Oklahoma here soon to spend some time with me kind of
8:44
in my world.
8:45
You're getting tattooed by my tattoo artists.
8:47
And like, you know, just text messages throughout the month and like connecting on very specific
8:52
things to your life, to your business.
8:54
And so for you, like what made you make the jump?
8:57
Like what made you, because it is a significant investment of time and effort and capital.
9:02
Because the thing is, is if it's, if it's cheap or free on time or effort or capital,
9:08
then guys just treat it that way.
9:10
And that's why I'm just real public about it.
9:11
It's like, yeah, this, this program, um, you know, it's, the investment just kind of is
9:15
what it is, but you have guys that have plenty of capital, but they don't really have the,
9:19
the will or desire to put it in.
9:21
And it's only if you really put in the time, effort and capital to where you really get
9:24
the overall experience.
9:25
But what made you jump?
9:26
Yeah, I've always been at least of recent and recent years wired to either, if I'm going
9:33
to get something out of something, I'm going all in.
9:35
It's like a go, jump off the deep end kind of thing.
9:39
And if I'm not, if I'm not going all in, then, you know, I don't treat it.
9:45
Like I'm going all in.
9:46
And so for, for this, I eat two options, you know, one more expensive than the other, one
9:52
more one on one direct time with you than the other.
9:55
And I, I didn't, I, for me personally, it was either I'm going all in or I'm not going
10:00
to do it.
10:01
And, and I get a ton out of the, I get a ton out of the, you know, the package that isn't
10:06
the elite package or isn't the one out a lot of one on one time with you package.
10:09
I get a lot out of that for sure.
10:12
But what it went out, what I was seeking wasn't necessarily another smoger or anything and
10:16
not that that is, it's more than a smoger, but I was seeking direct one on one time with
10:23
someone who can pour into me and directly head on answer or at least provide insight
10:30
into the things that I'm dealing with in my own life, into the challenges, into the, the
10:35
risks that I want to take and the decisions that I feel like I need to make, I need that
10:40
head on one on one time.
10:42
And I find that that's really, that's really hard to find.
10:45
It's really hard to find someone you want to listen to who's rooted in scripture, who
10:49
I can look at their family life and be like, yeah, I, I would get behind that guy.
10:53
Like, I, I want to be, I want my family to look like his family one day more or less.
10:59
And then someone who is also trying to build something and create something and willing
11:03
to take risks and willing to make sacrifices and be in uncomfortable positions to just
11:10
follow where God's calling them to go.
11:12
And so I'm in that right now, I'm trying to take risks and, and go where God's calling
11:17
me to go.
11:19
But I hear in there, I'll get advice and some wisdom, but I haven't had direct one on one
11:25
very intentional deep time.
11:27
And that's what I thought I was going to get out of the lead.
11:30
And that's what I've gotten out of the lead.
11:32
And I, I appreciate you going into the detail because, uh, what I've learned over time,
11:37
especially because I have a public profile, like I'm not, you know, I guess there are
11:41
people all over the world that listen to the show and it's, it's really, really grown over
11:44
the years and we've seen tremendous blessings come out of it.
11:47
People want, um, they want proximity to me.
11:51
And that was the thing that we couldn't figure out for years, for years, people and advisors
11:56
and just friends of mine would be like, man, like we got to get you in front of more people.
11:59
Like we, we need your philosophies like actually being lived out in individual lives and not
12:04
just people listening to the show, which is tremendously valuable, but like, you know,
12:07
how do we do that?
12:08
And that goes back to why we designed the Dominion program the way that we did to where
12:12
it's like, okay, equipment to push back darkness.
12:17
You know, cultivating spiritual, mental and physical resilience.
12:20
Now what does that look like when I'm doing that one on one with somebody?
12:22
What does that look like when I'm doing that one on small group of killers, right?
12:26
What does that look like because that's how a program like this becomes, you know, and
12:30
I don't want to be hyperbolic, but more of a movement as opposed to just a program because
12:34
it's like, okay, if we have individual guys and their individual businesses, individual
12:38
church congregations, individual homes, neighborhoods, whatever, pushing back darkness, equipping
12:44
themselves to push back darkness, equipping others, cultivating spiritual, mental and
12:48
physical resilience, like that's that's how you turn the ship, right?
12:51
That's how you change society.
12:53
That's how you change culture.
12:54
That's how you do those different things and obviously we partner with some very specific
12:57
ministries and churches and things like that for the stuff that we, we don't specifically
13:02
do.
13:03
We kind of help get get that out there.
13:04
But for you, I'm curious as because, you know, you're an eyes time during this initial part
13:09
of the program is going to be winding to a close before too long would have been some
13:13
of the things that you've seen that have been a benefit to you, a benefit to your family.
13:16
Because I mean, you had your first kid during during this process.
13:20
So I kind of got to see and you know, you look like you've been getting sleep, which is
13:23
shocking at this, at this point, because I think what, what are they two, two months
13:27
old or something like that, three months old.
13:28
And so like what would have been some of those aha moments with either me or the groove to
13:32
where you're just like, okay, these are the, these are the nuggets that I've taken that
13:35
have helped me as I'm trying to operate.
13:37
Yeah, there's been a lot of those.
13:40
And yet, I got to say the reason I'm looked like I'm getting sleep is I am because my
13:44
wife's a beast and she does majority of the work.
13:47
So shout out to Mrs. Rinda.
13:48
Yeah.
13:49
But a lot of those and a lot of those in our one on one times and a lot of those in the
13:53
group times with the guys going through the content that you've provided for us.
13:59
I'd say I can give like, like for me in building the business that we're trying to build, that
14:06
was a huge focus for me in, in seeking out and entering dominion and, and seeking what
14:12
I was looking for it was to provide some clarity and wisdom in this path that I was on in business.
14:19
And so in this over the course of the last five months, five months or so, I think decision
14:27
making and discernment, I can go deeper into this, but I'll, I'll stay a little higher level,
14:32
I guess decision making in discernment.
14:35
One of the meetings we had was specifically on that opportunities arise.
14:39
How do we, how do we assess the opportunity, pray, guess, go kind of thing?
14:45
What's the, what's the process and how we make a decision to go or to not go or turn
14:50
right or turn left?
14:53
That was a huge aha moment for me.
14:57
I think, especially when you used, I don't know if it was, was it Frank Thomas?
15:00
You used it.
15:01
You used an analogy from, I think baseball tonight on a movie network or something where, or
15:07
it, I don't know who it was.
15:08
I know.
15:09
It was, it was Pete Rose.
15:11
Pete Rose.
15:12
So they, they, they did a segment.
15:13
Let me, let me go ahead and tell the audience who, if they don't know what I'm talking about.
15:17
Once I got a, somebody to, all right, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
15:21
All right.
15:22
We had a little setting miss app here.
15:23
Got to fix.
15:24
Okay.
15:25
So, this is one of those moments where they need to give the cameraman a raise.
15:29
And so we have Pete Rose on set at, you know, wherever they're at, for, uh, MLB network.
15:36
And on set with them, I believe is Frank Thomas and Alex Rodriguez.
15:39
And they just start chit chatting about hitting.
15:42
And so on the set, they've got like, you know, played a batter's box and things like that.
15:46
And the cameraman just keeps rolling, right?
15:47
And I don't know if they showed this later or something like that, but they just kept
15:50
the production thing rolling.
15:52
And so Pete's talking to them.
15:53
And here you have Frank Thomas and Alex Rodriguez, you know, Alex Rodriguez, how do you not juice
15:57
would have been a surefire Hall of Famer, Frank Thomas, surefire was a surefire Hall
16:01
Famer, I think first ballot.
16:02
And then you've got, you know, obviously Pete Rose, who's now passed, but not a very
16:07
good guy, you know, cheat, you know, bet on baseball, bet on teams, you know, games that
16:11
he was playing in and all kinds of things, right?
16:14
But probably the best pure hitter of all time, right?
16:16
Just sweet swing, pure hitter, you know, great guy in terms of baseball.
16:20
And so they're just leaning in to Pete Rose talking.
16:23
They're just like basically drooling and salivating.
16:25
Two of the best hitters ever are just drooling and salivating.
16:28
And they're like, your swing is what gets you to the show, right?
16:32
Because when you're drafted guys, again, you go to rookie ball and then low A and then
16:37
high A, then double A, then triple A, then the majors, and then even if you get to the
16:40
majors, you could be sent right back down and never come up.
16:43
So these guys that are just 10 plus year guys in the major leagues, like their, their special
16:47
lead athletes, right?
16:49
But in so he's like, when I would slump, I wouldn't change a thing on my swing and our
16:54
batting coach would never want to change my swing.
16:57
And that's what we see today in modern baseball.
16:59
If something's going wrong with your swing, they start changing it.
17:02
They start jacking with your mechanics, right?
17:04
There's a young stud on the St. Louis Cardinals, which is my team.
17:07
He comes up.
17:08
All the way to the majors with his swing, things don't go well the first month or so.
17:11
They start changing the mechanics of this dude's swing.
17:13
Pete Rose, I would never in a million years do that.
17:16
You know what I would do?
17:17
I would just move where I stood in the box.
17:20
So if I was getting beat by the slider a lot or whatever, I was chasing the curveball,
17:24
I would move up in the box, right?
17:26
So I could get on the, on the pitch, you know, better, you know, if I was getting beat by
17:29
the fastball or whatever, I'd move back in the box.
17:32
My swing stayed the same and Frank Thomas and Alex Rodriguez were just like, their minds
17:36
were blown.
17:37
And of course, it's your swing that got you there.
17:40
And so that was the story that I told you in one of our one on one call is just to bring
17:43
the audience up speed.
17:44
And that was huge for me because I was going through a mini season of business where there's
17:48
big decision looming.
17:49
And I didn't know.
17:50
Do I do it?
17:51
Do we move forward?
17:52
Do we not move forward?
17:53
I had told you about a call it a spiritual strategy I had used in the past to make decisions
17:59
and that I, a lot of freedom in that I just, I felt like that was how God had had wired
18:05
me to operate.
18:06
And I deviated from that and felt off and not, I didn't feel peace.
18:13
And you said, and I have it highlighted here.
18:15
I have it started and underlined your swing is what got you here.
18:19
But you also said, you know, the move move up or move back in the box analogy.
18:25
So maybe this could, this could look a lot of different ways.
18:27
Maybe it's you got to spend more time and with, with the Lord, maybe you got to sit quiet
18:31
and just listen to him more than you have been lately.
18:34
And you still apply the same strategy, but in order to get the clarity in order to feel
18:38
the, you know, feel the conviction that you're, that you need to move forward, you might
18:43
just have to tilt one way or the other, but don't change the whole, you know, the whole
18:48
strategy and the whole, the whole swing.
18:51
So that was a huge one.
18:52
And then I'll say one more that I, it's, because it's, it's not the advice you'd get
18:57
from the world today, but you gave it to me.
18:59
And I think there's a ton of truth in it as we were talking about leadership and culture
19:03
building, just a couple, this was recent.
19:07
And that's where in a season right now where we're trying to build culture, and I want
19:10
to do it in a way that glorifies God and that reflects, reflects Christ.
19:14
And, and you said building a culture and all the time people spend on it is a complete
19:20
waste of time.
19:21
And there's other things, unless it's toxic, you said unless it's toxic, complete waste
19:25
of time.
19:26
And what I got out of that was operational excellence and also individually focusing
19:31
on certain people on your team is immensely more important than this like cloud of culture
19:37
that you're trying to bring over your, your business or your team.
19:41
And so I've already figured, figured out figuring out a lot of ways to apply that, but that's
19:45
another huge thing.
19:46
And a lot, I know a lot of these are business related, but that's just the season I'm in
19:50
right now.
19:51
A lot of it is, and there's fatherhood stuff in there too, because obviously I just said
19:54
a kid.
19:55
Hey guys, real quick, as you've heard me describe before, I am incredibly conservative about
19:59
the supplements that I take.
20:01
I spent years being terrified of putting different products in my body because I didn't know
20:05
what they were made with or if it was going to be kind of fly by night companies using
20:09
all kinds of crazy ingredients.
20:11
So I've always wanted to partner with an American company that only uses the highest
20:16
quality ingredients.
20:17
And that's why I want to remind you that we are partnered with Jocko Fuel.
20:21
Jocko Fuel is Jocko willing supplement company that is based here in the United States.
20:25
So what are some of my favorite products that they make?
20:27
So they make whey protein powder and guys, they just released a cookies and cream flavor
20:31
not that long ago.
20:32
And it is ridiculously good.
20:33
Make sure you use it with milk.
20:34
It makes it even better.
20:35
They also make clean energy drinks.
20:37
I finally decided what my favorite was and that's pink lemonade.
20:40
That is my favorite of all their flavors, but they also have the best tasting greens powder
20:44
on the market.
20:45
I prefer the peach flavor myself.
20:46
They also make pre-workout and ready to drink protein.
20:49
So I actually mix the ready to drink protein in my boy's milk and they love it.
20:53
They're constantly like dad, dad, banana milk, banana milk.
20:56
So we got to hook that up in the Thompson household.
20:58
But I also use their krill oil, fish oil, creatine, vitamin D, and their sleep aids.
21:03
And guys, they've got new stuff coming out all the time and a bunch of stuff.
21:06
I didn't even have time to mention.
21:07
Guys, if you take your health and wellness seriously, then you simply can't afford to
21:11
put cheap and inconsistent supplements inside of your body.
21:15
Try origin out today by going to www.jockofuel.com.
21:19
That's jockofuel.com.
21:21
Use the promo code undaunted to get 10% off your order.
21:24
Yeah, I mean, I remember that on our last call because people just, you know, business owners,
21:33
they chase culture, but culture is really vague.
21:36
And you spend all this time and money and then you have people that you have a lot of
21:41
people in your organization.
21:42
Again, if you follow the Pareto principle or distribution, it's like you, your top 20%
21:45
of employees are going to do the 80% of the work that needs to keep the thing rolling or
21:50
right or keep the revenue coming in.
21:51
And so you're spending all this time and effort and on culture building for people that would
21:56
literally go to the office across, you know, the parking lot and go work for them, your
22:02
direct competitor for a dollar or more per hour, right?
22:05
Like, and so, yes, focus on your, your key employees, make sure that their needs and
22:10
their desires are met, not just from a financial, you know, standpoint, but also the type of
22:15
job that they're doing.
22:16
It's not just being on the right bus.
22:17
It's being on the right seat on the right bus, like all that kind of stuff.
22:20
And then one, one thing you were talking about earlier is it goes back to our pillars.
22:24
So that's the core of the Dominion program are the six pillars of a Dominion man, the
22:28
six pillars of a Dominion man.
22:30
And one of those pillars is direction over vision, direction over vision.
22:34
So vision's fine.
22:35
Vision's good.
22:36
But you have people that will get a vision and it'll like shoot them off in a completely
22:41
different direction.
22:43
And it's not, it's not good for them overall.
22:45
And it's also not what God would have for them, but they get this vision and it feels
22:49
good and it's an exciting thing.
22:51
And it's just like, but are you in the core door of the direction that God has for your
22:55
life?
22:56
Yes or no?
22:57
And so yeah, I will say, Mitchell, a lot of our conversations, they, they've been very,
23:00
you know, simulating for me because they really talk more in a business context.
23:03
And I like talking to business owners about their businesses and the, in the areas, like
23:07
I'm not going to look at your spreadsheets and be like, well, your EBITDA is not really
23:09
looking too healthy.
23:10
So how about we burp up and do all that?
23:12
But I have people at my disposal that could really, really help there.
23:15
But for you personally, like as a man, as a husband, as a new father, let's talk about
23:21
some of those things in terms of what value you've gotten out of a program like this,
23:27
not only from our one on one interactions, but also the group component.
23:30
Yeah, a huge one.
23:32
And it was just our last month of the pillar standards over goals.
23:40
That was a huge because because so the, you know, the pillars are caught a little more
23:46
high level and then we go deeper on our calls, you, you walk us through that.
23:51
And then it's on us to go even deeper, be up like even deeper than what we talk about
23:56
on our, on our calls.
23:58
And so I sat with that one for a while and the way I processed that pillar was really
24:03
like long term, over short term, a lot of us live in this short term, perpetually short
24:11
term world, whereas that's not biblical, really, it's not biblical at all, we're eternally
24:19
focused in scripture.
24:21
And so I dug further and deeper into that because that's what the pillars do.
24:27
They kind of force you to dig deeper and came, came across God's, one of God's first original
24:33
commands of man, which is to be fruitful, multiply replenish, so do and have dominion.
24:40
And this resonated, because my mind is set on standards over goals.
24:44
Like as I'm reading scripture and I'm digging into things, I'm thinking standards over goals,
24:49
especially in, in as a new father.
24:54
And what I want my, my kids life to look like over the next 18 years until he leaves that
24:59
leaves the house.
25:02
But in business, just the same how we want our business to look over the years, you get
25:07
so focused on like what needs to be like, like, how can I get my business that in reality
25:17
might take 10 years?
25:18
How can I experience that in a year?
25:21
And we get so consumed with the timeline.
25:23
So long story short, I'm sitting with that scripture and, and there's a having at the
25:29
end, this is kind of what I mean.
25:30
We get so concerned with the having.
25:31
When can I have dominion?
25:33
When can I have the thing that I'm, the thing that I'm chasing?
25:36
And, and that's like elementary level.
25:39
And then you get to like the college degree where you're like, well, I got to do a lot
25:42
of stuff in order to have.
25:43
So I'm going to start doing a lot of stuff in order to have, but then you get to like,
25:47
I feel like the, the ultimate level where you're like, no, it starts with the being.
25:52
And this is where I line it with standards and the standards we talked about and what
25:56
standards really are, and it's a, it's so much more about being, being, being, who God's
26:02
called you to be right now, because you can be, you don't have to have to have, to have
26:07
the thing that God's promised in order to be who God's called you to be.
26:10
So be who God's calls you to be right now.
26:12
What does that look like?
26:14
Be that that will flow into the doing and the doing will flow into the having.
26:19
So I was like, that's just super recent.
26:20
That was just, you know, within the last couple of weeks, which has helped me really slow
26:25
down and be more, you know, peaceful in my, in my moving and, and in business and as a
26:36
father, and it helps you be more present for sure.
26:39
And you're not always chasing a timeline, you're not putting a timeline, anything like
26:43
God put the timeline on things.
26:44
You don't put the timeline goal setting is not biblical.
26:47
We talked about this.
26:48
It's not biblical.
26:49
I don't see it in the Bible.
26:50
So that's a big one for me.
26:51
Yeah.
26:52
Again, standards over goals.
26:53
They're one of the pillars like that's the one that really trips people up because we've
26:57
been bred, especially if we went to college, everything's about goal setting and you know,
27:00
read how to win friends and influence people and then set some goals and then read 12
27:04
week year and set some goals, but people don't suck because they suck at goal setting.
27:08
People suck because they suck.
27:09
And so if it wasn't like if we could just get 5% better at goal setting, we wouldn't
27:13
suck so bad.
27:14
No, it's because people don't live with any type of a standard.
27:17
And so I don't want to really give away too much more of that.
27:19
But as we wrap up here, Mitch, I really appreciate you, you're taking the time to give us all
27:22
this input, but obviously there are guys that are putting it there are a lot of guys that
27:26
have put in applications already.
27:28
There are guys that are kind of on the fence about putting on an application again, guys
27:31
on Donna dot life slash dominion and Donna dot life slash dominions in the show notes
27:34
or you can just go to our websites right there on the top right.
27:37
There are dudes that are on the fence about applying because they don't know what that
27:40
means.
27:41
Like, what does that require me?
27:42
Well, probably nothing, you know, like you you're going to get contacted by our team.
27:45
We have a team now that's kind of handling that.
27:47
And then, you know, if you're a good fit for the program, yeah, you'll end up doing an
27:50
interview with me and we'll we'll make sure it's a good fit.
27:53
But there are people that are maybe a good fit for the program and they want to be in
27:56
it.
27:57
But there's something that's like they're just straddling the fence for whatever reason.
28:00
Maybe they're worried about the time commitment.
28:02
Maybe they're worried about that investment.
28:04
And again, we require significant investment of time, talent, effort, resources, all the
28:10
things to be a part of this program.
28:13
What would be your message to those people in the fence?
28:16
I can say what I did, I asked God first and foremost and how God answered that was through,
28:22
I think it's Proverbs 4, 7, get wisdom, though it costs to you all you have.
28:27
Get wisdom, value wisdom over money, value wisdom over all the things and if in the one
28:32
who provides the wisdom deserve to be paid, rightfully so.
28:36
So that that was a lot of other instances happened resulted me make that decision.
28:42
But I would say that ask God see what he has to say and then like are you actually ruthlessly
28:50
trying to grow like are you the way you would call it a killer or like do you really badly
28:56
want to be like I don't know if I'm a killer but I would love to be considered one, not
29:01
the way that you know the world defines that.
29:04
But I would love to be considered one and I would love that to I would love my marriage
29:09
to look like that, my parenting to look like that, my business to look like that, my walk
29:13
with God to look like that and I have told you from the very beginning throw me in the
29:18
deep end because that's what I need, uncomfortable things, hard things to be told hard things
29:25
that maybe I don't want to hear and if you're like willing to receive all of that then do
29:31
it you know if God if you feel like there's not a hard no from God on that and you're
29:37
willing to get thrown into the deep end with a desire to grow in whatever area of life
29:42
it is, do it, just do it, I don't know, you know, yeah, Mitch I love that because I remember
29:51
you tell me that from the beginning on our first call like hey throw me in the deep end
29:54
because some some programs like this, it's some some dude with with an outsized ego with
30:01
not a whole lot of wisdom just screaming at people do this and do it faster and if it
30:06
doesn't work do it harder next time or blah blah and it's like okay like maybe some people
30:11
need some of that but a lot of a lot of my calls with people that are one-on-one it's
30:15
a lot of questions because I may have an idea of exactly what you need to do but I want
30:20
to ask questions that maybe get you there to where you're like okay I think I figured
30:24
out what I need to do as opposed to me just being like yeah just do this this and this
30:27
and it'll all be better right because again we want to churn out killers we want to churn
30:32
out people that are making unbelievable improvements in all those very very important areas right
30:37
some of it's going to be business based on season some of it's going to be their kids
30:40
based on season or their wife but again you know when the lawyer asked Jesus you know
30:45
what's most important law I said love Lord your God with all your heart's whole mind
30:48
and strength and second is like it love your neighbor as yourself so if God's not in that
30:52
primary seat we're going to have issues now when you talk about our neighbor who's your
30:56
primary neighbor Mrs. Rinda right so if that's not in the right order things are not going
31:00
to go well who's your secondary neighbor now you have a secondary neighbor and that's
31:04
your kiddo right and hopefully a whole lot more coming through that's got to be in the
31:08
right ordering behind mom behind God or things are going to be out of place then we start
31:12
getting into business since we start getting into you know brother business owners you
31:16
know like all those types of people that kind of help you know make this scaffolding for
31:19
your life and so all that's very very important but Mitch I know you got things to do and
31:23
places to be so I just really appreciate you coming on talking to our audience today man
