Let's be honest, most men drift. We wake up, we scroll, we work, and then we just rinse and repeat. And we know we're softer than we should be. That's why I built the 31-day resilience reset. This is not a devotional, it is a field manual for men ready to stop drifting and start fighting back. So, for 31 days, you'll train your spirit, mind, and body with scripture, prayer, and daily challenges that forge real resilience. Go to www.undaunted.life/31days to download this resource for free. That's undaunted.life/31days. Start your reset today. This is Undaunted Life, a man's podcast. I'm your host, Kyle Thompson. Let's get into it. Young lions suffer want and hunger, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. That's Psalm 34:10. I know I did that the last time I did an AMA, but that's probably my favorite verse of all time. So, guys, we're so thankful to have you here today. Again, we are doing an AMA, but AMAs only open to guys that are donors, and we're so thankful for our donors. So, if you have not become a donor to Undaunted Life, undaunted.life/donate, undaunted.life/donate. And if you need a tax-deductible donation, there's a way in the show notes to follow a link to the New Horizons Foundation, where you can support the work that Joe and I are doing with the Daily Blade. If you've not left a five-star review or shared the show with somebody, please go ahead and do that. But, I did want to address one thing really quick back from episode 915. So, that was a Talking Table episode. And [clears throat] so, kind of a long story short, we were not monetized by YouTube for a very, very long time. And then all of a sudden we got monetized, then all of a sudden every single episode we've ever done couldn't be monetized because of the intro outro music being owned by someone that we didn't get permission from for this, that, the other thing, blah, blah, blah. And so, I worked with Brook Reeves over with Impending Doom about using his song "Christ Is King". Took a while to get that going, so we got with Void Awakening, and then we made that our new intro outro music, and then got squared away with Impending Doom, and we were going to use Christ as King to be the official intro outro music of The Forging Table, which is what I said at the beginning of episode 915. But, wouldn't you know it, we uploaded episodes to YouTube, and even though Christ as King is completely owned by Impending Doom, they struck it with a copyright strike. And I was talking with Brook, who's the lead singer of all this of Impending Doom, and he was like, "Look, dude, he has posted stuff onto his YouTube channel. Like, his Impending Doom YouTube channel, and they've given it a copyright strike. It's an Impending Doom song that they wrote for their channel, and then it gives them a strike. And then if you've ever tried to work with Google or anyone like that on the YouTube side, it's like impossible. You can never get with a human being, and of course you get an email through this way, and you can't get it the other way." So, obviously in that episode, it was Void Awakened intro outro, but I said it was Christ as King. So, moving forward, it's going to be Void Awakened, the song Conqueror, and so that's going to be the intro outro music. So, hopefully you guys are okay with that. But, let's go ahead and get into our questions. Again, if you want to submit a question, just shoot me a DM. And so, for [clears throat] the the Joby Martin stuff, for the for the Ask a Pastor stuff, that's got to be just for our monthly donors. But, guys, when y'all ask me questions via email, info@undaunted.life, info@undaunted.life, or if you DM me any interesting questions, I throw it in the AMA bank, and I might start having to peel off some questions from the Joby Martin Ask a Pastor bank, because that one's gotten so extensive, and guys are like, "You didn't ask my question that I sent you 2 days ago." It's like, "Well, do you know how many questions are in front of yours?" So, anyway, we just love getting questions from you guys, love to answer them. So, here's the first question here, and with all these, I forgot to write the person's name down, so it's just the way the cookie crumbled, but hopefully you remember the question you asked me. So, here we go, first question. How should a man deal with disrespect from a woman that we're in a relationship with? So, I thought this was a really, really good question, because I think every single man at basically every point of life has been in a relationship of some kind with a woman that was disrespectful. It may have been with your mother, may have been with a sister or an aunt or your grandmother or something like that as you were developing and growing up. And then perhaps with a girl that was your friend and then maybe a girlfriend and then with a fiance and then with a wife. I think a lot of men are used to being shown disrespect from their women. And so the thing is honestly you can't control other people. So that's the the least fun part of my answer is you can't control other people, you can only control yourself. And so specifically I'm assuming this man is married and I'm assuming he's talking about it in the context of a marriage and so I'm going to approach the question in that way and try to give some help to the guys but I mainly want to give help to the ladies but we'll do that in just a second. So for the man there's a lot of scriptures that apply directly to you. And there's a lot of scriptures that apply directly to her. So Colossians 3:19 this is for the husbands. Husbands love your wives and do not be harsh [clears throat] with them. Okay? That's one that I have to repeat over and over for myself just because of my personality. 1 Peter 3:7 Likewise husbands live with your wives in an understanding way showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel since they are heirs with you of the grace of life so that your prayers may not be hindered. 1 Corinthians 13 the love chapter 4 through 7. >> [clears throat] >> Love is patient and kind. Love does not envy or boast. It is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way. It is not irritable or resentful. It does not rejoice in wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things and endures all things. And then I won't read the entirety of this but Ephesians 5 guys 25 through 33 that's for you. And so men I got to be honest with you and I talked about this with Matt Chandler recently, with Joey Martin recently. Man it really sucks when a guy's in a bad marriage and he's really focused on what his wife isn't doing right or what she's not providing for him and all that and so he could forget about all the verses that are directed at him because he's like well she's not paying attention to the verses that are directed to her. It's like okay, fair and and I hate that for you, but you can't control her. God's got to deal with her heart. The Holy Spirit's got to work in her, right? You got to deal with your stuff. But I do want to address the ladies here. So for a lot of ladies and I've been at some really cool events recently where, you know, the men are being talked to but then the the pastor will talk directly to the women like, "Ladies, you have a huge role to play with this." So for my ladies out there, I know my five percenters are listening to this right now, so shout out to y'all. I know a lot of y'all are mothers to sons, right? You're aunts to nephews. You are a sister to a brother. You are a wife to a husband. You are all those things. I just want to give you a little bit of insight here cuz I don't assume that you know this. I think women know maybe not innately, but at least intellectually, they know that men are under a lot of pressure, right? But I don't think you fully understand and can fully recognize and appreciate the kinds of pressure and the amount of pressure that men are under. So I saw someone do this recently online. I wish I could remember his name so I could give him some credit, but he was just basically talking about the things that that men have to deal with and so I decided to take do my own take on that. But just for ladies, uh for the man in your life, especially if you're married, this is what your husband's likely thinking on a daily basis, if not an hourly basis. I mean, it takes me a while to fall asleep, right? Even with, you know, melatonin, magnesium, all the different things, it just takes me a while to fall asleep. And so I'll just sit there and I just run through these thoughts and I just have these thoughts and all of them are pressure. All of them are expectations and it's in all the most important areas of life. Spiritual, mental, physical, emotional, uh relational, financial, work-based, all those different things. And so for [clears throat] a guy, these are the types of things that he's going to be thinking through on a daily basis. Got to read my Bible. Got to memorize scripture. Got to talk to God. So ladies, I hope you didn't tune out during all of that. Because each one of those things that I said, each statement is a weight on your husband's back. Each one of them. One of the worst videos I've ever seen. I hope this woman's a great woman and just had a bad day, but there's this man on his back porch, right? He's sitting there with this, you know, this thing of wire, right? And so it used to be this big thing of wire, right? So just imagine over decades and decades and decades he's taking a little bit of that wire at a time, cutting it off and using it for a project, using it for a project. And he's sitting here staring at this bundle of wire. A lot of you guys have seen this and it's almost out. And his wife comes out with her camera and she's like, "What are you doing?" And he's like he's trying to tell her, "I'm just looking at this this wire here and and it's almost out. And I mean I've had this wire for for decades and it's just it's really really important and it's just it's crazy that it's almost gone." And she just goes, "Oh, I saw you wearing your Bills hat, so I thought you were just sad that that they that they lost. I thought you were out here crying or something." And then this man does what he's probably done his entire relationship. He goes, "You know what? Eff it. I'm just going to go do something else." He tried to be vulnerable with his wife cuz it wasn't about the the wire. I hopefully you guys can understand that. It wasn't about the wire. It was about what it meant. He was thinking about back on all the projects that he had done using that wire, right? Maybe he was thinking about the people that he had done those projects with. Maybe he was helping mend a fence with his father or grandfather. Maybe he was helping teach his son something and they were using this wire to help you know solidify one part of the project while they worked on another project. He's having potentially a midlife crisis moment where he's like, "Man, this is it. If I get a new bundle of wire, am I even going to live long enough to see that bundle of wire get all the way down to the end?" And all this horrible harpy, this terrible woman could think was to castigate her husband into film it and post it online because she thought he he was crying and pouting because his favorite football team lost. Which does imply that he has done that before, which is you know his problem. But for the women in our lives, for the women listening to this, you have a tremendous impact on your man's ability to be the man that you want him to be. To be the man that God is calling him to be. And I've heard people say before, I don't know who said it first, but it's like the woman in your life is either going to be your launchpad or your ceiling. That applies in ministry, it applies in business, it applies in just your sanctification journey, and it it applies to how your family's going to run. And so if you are constantly castigating your man for not hitting the mark, you got to do better. Well, what about this? And I've talked about it this way a lot of times because it normally comes to, you know, family and business, family and work, and how that interplay goes. And women will always find a way to complain. So let's say you're the guy who's uh So you've got a thriving business or you got a really good job, you're making a lot of money, but you got to work a lot of hours. What's the woman's complaint? Well, you're just not around enough. You work so many hours, you take so many work trips, you do so many extra things after work. Like when are you going to spend time with the family? When are you going to take me on another date? When are we going to go on a vacation? All those different things, right? So that's the complaint. But then if we flip it, let's say the guy's kind of struggling in his career. He's been passed over for a few promotions, right? He's not hitting his commission goals. If he he misses another quarterly, you know, commission goal, he's probably going to lose his job. But let's say he's he's home every night. He he takes the kids and picks them up from from school sometimes or a lot of times. He's at all the practices, he's he's really investing in his marriage and his kids' lives, and he knows, you know, everything about them and all those different things. What is the wife's complaint? Well, gosh, we just don't have enough money. How are we going to retire? Hey, thanks for taking us on vacation, but you think maybe we cannot do a road trip next time? You think we could fly somewhere? Hey, can we go somewhere nice nicer than Six Flags? Can we can we do something like that? There's always something to complain about. So your default mechanism might be to complain, to critique, to cut down, and four waves of feminism have taught you that that's okay. That you're able to do that. Maybe you had a terrible mother or a terrible grandmother who just absolutely talked down and cut down their husband constantly and so you picked up the bad habit of doing the exact same thing to your husband. And you wonder why he's so quiet all the time. You wonder why he boils over with anger sometimes. You wonder why he runs away to his man cave or to his hobbies all the time. It's because you've created an environment that is almost impossible to withstand. Because that entire list of pressure is going to be there regardless. It's going to be there. For for most men, especially the type A men, the men that are really pushing it, the men that are really wanting to develop to develop, that is still going to be there. You can either help alleviate some of that pressure, help take some of the weight off so that he can thrive, or you can double the pressure by being terrible. And so men, you already heard me talk to you. You got a lot of stuff that you got to do. I'm not letting you off the hook. I've got 900 plus episodes of this podcast and 300 plus of the daily blade and other ones to let you know that I'm never not ever letting the men off the hook, right? It begins and ends with us. Our next question here, is there importance to specifically having a son to keep the family name alive? Okay, so there's the really like kind of obvious way to answer this and then I'll kind of, you know, expand out from there. So obviously, if you don't have a son, you can't pass on your family name via your biological line cuz you don't have a son to pass on the name to, okay? Um I mean, in the off Maybe in the off chance that you real you know, raise a flaming liberal girl who forces the man she marries to take her last name. Assuming that that's not what's going to happen with most of the guys in my audience. Yes, if you don't have a son, your name does not get passed on. And I will just go ahead and tell you that names are important. Right? Like I'm very proud to be a Thompson. I know a lot about the the Thompson family line and you know, going back to you know, Celtic people and all those different things. There's something very very important about a name. But let's say I didn't have two sons. Let's say I had two daughters and biologically that's the only two biological kids that we were able to have. Well, the Thompson name dies with me. Cuz I only have a sister, right? Who took someone else's name. And so yes, the the the name dies. But for most men, cuz I know a lot of guys out there that only have daughters, right? They're girl dads. Legacy is way more important than a name. Right? And here's the reality. Legacy typically doesn't stretch multiple generations, right? And I can prove it to you because for most of you right now just sitting there, what is your great great-grandfather's name? Most of you know your grandfather's name. Most of you know your father's name. Some of you don't even know those, but can you name your great-grandfather's name? What about your great-great? I would assume most of you most of you would completely fall off by great-great-great-grandfather right? But what those men did is they set the next generation or two up in a way to where survival was possible. So for me, I'm descendant of, you know, Celtic people and Choctaw Indian people, right? So there's not a whole lot of wealth. There's not a whole lot of royalty. There's not really anything in my line, right? There's not a whole lot that's been passed down other than stories from a generation or two. So I don't have a whole lot of stories about my great grandfather Melvin or my and I don't even know the name of my great great grandfather on that side. But, all of those men have allowed the next generation or two to survive and in some cases thrive. So, for me, I'm first generation college student. Wouldn't be possible without my father, right? Wouldn't have been possible for him if his father, who unfortunately was killed when my dad was a teenager, it would be impossible for me to be doing what I'm doing if my dad wasn't set up in a particular way, right? This can be financially, this could be occupationally, this could be just health-wise, you're passing down your DNA. And so, you have generally healthy DNA that you're passing down so that the propagation of the species at the most basic level can happen. And so, for guys out there that are worried, oh, I I only have daughters or maybe I don't have any kids yet or maybe unfortunately you're unable to have kids for one way or another, you can still have a legacy with your kids. If you adopt children, you can create legacy with them. You are setting up that next generation in the best way that you know how. Those are the arrows you're shooting into the future. And think about it this way. Above all the other kinds of legacies you could have, you could have a legacy of fame, of fortune, of education, of renown, of influence, all these other different areas. You want your family to have a gospel legacy. If someone in your family's famous, famous author, famous athlete, famous politician, if someone in your family line is wealthy, if someone in your family line has done something incredible in the nonprofit space, all that's great. I'm cool with all that. What about a gospel legacy? And not every gospel legacy is going to be Billy Graham, right? He's kind of a singular thing, right? Not every gospel legacy is going to be Charles Spurgeon or the Apostle Paul or anything like that. But, are you faithfully living out the gospel in your daily life. Are you faithfully evangelizing the gospel of Jesus Christ to other people? Are you praying for the server in front of your family? Are you praying over your wife and over your children? Are you praying for them when they're not around? Is there a legacy of the gospel of Jesus Christ in your family? That should be your main focus. All right, next I almost said quick hitter. Next AMA, next question here. Why do you support an unrepentant and disqualified pastor named Mark Driscoll? Uh so I've been asked this a lot because I've mentioned Mark Driscoll on the show here. I referred to some of his work. I referred to some of the things that he said in his sermons. I still will listen to a handful of Mark Driscoll sermons or podcasts throughout the year. I follow him on social media, all the different things. So I guess in your parlance or whatever you can say that I support him. Now, in the question, that question is obviously very heavy-handed. It says that he is unrepentant and disqualified from ministry. Okay. First question I would ask this person if I was having a dialogue with them is how do you know Mark Driscoll is unrepentant? And also how do you know that he even needs to repent of anything to begin with? Okay? Now, I know a lot of people have watched the rise and fall or listened to the rise and fall of Mars Hill. They've read some blogs about Mark Driscoll. They've heard some stories. They've heard some interviews from other different people. And let's just say that you find all that stuff to be generally true. Are you sure it's true? Do we know for certain that some of the bullying tactics or some of the the business tactics, the manipulation of where his book might end up in the church? Do we know that to be true? Do we know any of that to be true? But let's just go ahead and assume that it is. Let's assume all of it's true, even the worst the worst stories are all of all that. Is he disqualified from ministry? Well, if all of it's true, I guess you could say he's disqualified from ministry. But again, we don't know if it's true or not. But then let's say it's all true. And let's say that he he disqualified from ministry. But here he is still working in ministry. He said he's unrepentant. Do we know if he's unrepentant? Now, I've got my my issues and my concerns with Mark Driscoll cuz my understanding is he doesn't have a an elder board. He has a board of pastors that are his buddies at his church, and so he can't even be kicked out of his own church and all those different things. But that's indicative of a lot of guys. Uh most of your favorite big name pastors don't have elders. Right? They don't have elders. They don't have people that can literally kick them out of their own church if they had an affair, if they were arrested for something, if they molested somebody. Like they they don't have that. They're basically insulated from that, and my understanding is Mark Driscoll is insulated from that at his new church there in Arizona. But I say all that to say this. The The way that I support, I guess you could say, Mark Driscoll is I like his thoughts on culture, which some people think is a farce. They think he's only pushing into kind of what right-wing capital-C conservative stuff uh to kind of, you know, um make his profile bigger and do all that. Maybe that's the case, but it's helpful to me. That's why I like getting so many different disparate voices in all kinds of different topics. So, on the pastoral side, like, yes, I will listen to old John MacArthur sermons and Voddie Bauckham, uh you know, may they both rest in peace, and Joby, and Howerton, and Chandler, all and and Driscoll. I'll I'll pull all these people together. On the political side, I'll listen to Mark Levin, and I'll listen to whatever Tucker Carlson's saying, and then I'll try to adjust whether or not it's true or not. I'll listen to Ben Shapiro. I'll listen to Glenn Beck. I'll listen to Matt Walsh. All the I'm I'm trying to gather these different opinions, right? Just to kind of see what my thinking is compared to what other people that I respect and generally like their opinions, what they're thinking, and then I try to surmise what is best to share with you so that I can help edify you. So, when I listen to a Mark Driscoll sermon, you're going to get some of that political, social, societal stuff, but you're getting a lot of Bible. And guys, here's the one thing. Even people that don't like, cuz I've talked to people individually that knew Mark Driscoll as a friend, not just a colleague, not just a coworker, whatever, but as a friend for years and years. And these are people that don't like Mark Driscoll, and even they will say, "The guy is a great Bible teacher." The guy is tremendous at expositing the scripture and his exegesis is on point. Okay? >> [snorts] >> So, in your parlance, that's why I support him. That's why I give him my attention is because I want to learn from him. Another guy I'll bring in, which I'm not comparing Driscoll and Ravi Zacharias in the the way of their particular style of sin, you know, but we have a lot of evidence to suggest that Ravi Zacharias, one of the greatest, you know, evangelists of the 20th and 21st century and one of the greatest apologists of that time, that he was a sexual deviant, that he was a sexual predator, that he potentially was involved in rapes and all kinds of different things. And I guess that's still being like figured out whether or not all that's true. But again, let's just assume that's true. Does it mean that everything that he ever taught at an RZIM event is bunk? That we can't trust it? Does it mean that everything he's ever written in a book is something that we can't take seriously? Now, we can tangent, right? So, if you hear Ravi Zacharias talking about sexual purity and all those different things, you might be like, "Eh, well, what he's saying might be true, but it's like the vessel's a little bit jacked up for that." And so, let's say Pastor Mark Driscoll's stuff is for real. If he starts talking about how to handle a staff, how to build up staff, how to not bully people and all that, you might be like, "Eh, well, I don't really know that I should take your advice." Like, I don't take workout and nutrition advice from fat people. I don't take financial advice from broke people that have never had money, right? Just in general. But you can't just castigate somebody entirely and say there's nothing that could possibly be learned from this person because they performed a particular kind of sin. And again, I would tell you, how do we know if he's unrepentant? How do we know specifically if he's disqualified? How do we know if all those other stories are true? Perhaps they are, maybe they're not, but that's my answer. All right, next question here. What are tangible ways you can see the Holy Spirit working in your life that you would be willing to discuss? So, interesting timing for this question is obviously for most of you that are watching this, I'm sitting here in this like Grock arm splint thing, whatever. Ruptured my bicep a few weeks ago. You're going to be hearing this recording, you know, several weeks later. And also what you can't see is I'm in two walking boots right now. Not a walking boot, two. I've a walking boot on each foot because before I was dealing with the ruptured bicep and everything else that's that's going on because of that, I was having a lot of problems with my big toes. Kind of pre-arthritic in both big big toes. Definitely from jiu-jitsu cuz you don't wear shoes in jiu-jitsu unless you're a weirdo. And so here I am, you know, just in my on my toes. I've got long, skinny feet, high arches, super long toes. And I'm a top position player and I'm, you know, I try to get the takedown. So I'm putting tons of pressure on my big toes. Like if I'm putting top pressure down and I'm passing, I'm pushing on my big toes, pushing on my big toes. So I was having problems like the the joints were getting kind of swollen. The bones weren't ossifying correctly. I don't even know what that means, but someone else told me that, so there I just passed that on to you. I was down to being able to wear like two or three pairs of my shoes. Couldn't wear most of my boots and all those different things. Had some custom boots getting made for me as as a present. And you know, had to basically say, "Hey, stop doing it. My feet are my feet are going crazy." So I got PRP injections from Antigen here in Edmond, Oklahoma in both of my big toes. Well, you can't really move the joint for like a week afterwards because you know, you got to have that inflammation dig in there. So I'm sitting here, I'm down a limb, and now I've got these I may as well have cinder blocks on both of my feet. Okay? This is suboptimal >> [snorts and clears throat] >> for a guy that's very physically active. I love to do jiu-jitsu. I love the fighting of it. I love pushing the limits and redlining. I love spiking my heart rate. I love lifting weights. I love feeling and looking strong. I love being able to perform physically in all these different ways. That's all gone right now. I mean, best case scenario, I'm, you know, just over 2 weeks post surgery at this point. Was with my physical therapist this morning. He's like, at the 6-week mark, I may get out of this, you know, arm contraption. Right? But he said, honestly, it's going to be 6 months before I am cleared to lift and to fight, you know, do jiu-jitsu in the way that I was doing before. But that's just getting cleared to do the activity. So, once I'm cleared to do the activity, then there's the road to build back. Cuz I'm going to have all this atrophy in this arm. There's going to be atrophy in and around like my shoulder. Like again, it was my bicep that got hurt, but my tricep, my forearms, my hands, my shoulders, and my pec, and my lats, and my delts, and all that, they've all atrophied. So, I got to get that back. I got to even things out, right? And so, after 6 months of recovery from the injury, how many months is it going to be after that before I'm back to where I was? Because I was at a place where, you know, rolling-wise, you know, a couple stripes on my my brown belt, you know, uh the road, you know, the the path is seeming clear to to getting the black belt at some point in the near future. That's all gone. Okay, I got to get my game back. Okay, is this arm going to come back fully healed? I don't know. Some guys have had the surgery and they're back and fully healed. Other guys are like, yeah, I'm about 90-95%. Well, how's that going to affect my game? Right? My grips have always been great. I do a lot of ghee. Right? Is that going to be part of my game anymore? Uh with with my toes, are they going to get better? Are they going to get worse? Cuz that's going to lead to being able to be less explosive. Okay, I remember when I had reconstructed thumb surgery, you know, about 8 or 9 years ago, cuz I tore every ligament in my left thumb, the process of getting my deadlift and squat and bench numbers back to where they were, I mean, that was about a 6-month process. So, here I am. I'm looking at potentially a year. A year before maybe I'm back to where I was. Right? With all my my power lifts overhead, bench, squat, and deadlift before I'm back to roughly where I was to try to get better from where I was to where I can get that, you know, five, six, seven rounds of five to six minutes of grappling and not be completely dead before I can hit the air dyne with both arms and to be able to hit spike the heart rate that that what I'm used to, to being able to even get on a ruck, to be able to go on a ruck and all those different things. I'm a long ways away from that. So there's the physical maladies that come with that to where it's like, okay, I'm I'm not getting the the endorphins released in the body. I'm not getting all the the happy highs that you get after a hard workout and all that. So I I do that long set up to say this. God's got a purpose in there somewhere. Okay? I've talked to many guys that have been hurt. A lot of guys with this same injury and they're like I got to spend more time with my wife, got to spend more time with my kids, got to spend more time in the word because I wasn't able to go to practice for a couple hours. Like I'm doing my best to lift right now, but it's a lot of wall sits, it's a lot of air squats. Like I'm very limited even in the core work that I can do. I can only lift with one arm, but I'm kind of scared of hurting this arm cuz like, you know, if this arm goes kapow, like now we got a wiping problem. Right? So this this is not an unserious issue that we're dealing with right now. But the Holy Spirit is trying to tell me something. I'm not saying that God caused my arm injury, but this arm injury didn't surprise him. It was like, "Oh my gosh, I I thought Kyle was good to go. Shoot, his tendon ruptured." What a weird occurrence. No, he knew this was going to happen. And somehow, some way, God's going to use this and turn this to the good uh and will be used for his purpose. And so I'm waiting in uh anxious anticipation for what that looks like. Cuz I've had a lot of moments where I've been slowed down. Two vocal cord surgeries, thought my entire career was over. Obviously, you you have some some growing to do in those moments. And you know what's funny is uh luckily I've I've got a lot of great relationships with a lot of great men in my life and they've you know I've had dozens and dozens of guys reach out and they including you guys in the comments and I'm very very thankful for the comments, DMs, and emails uh for my recovery. And a lot of guys have been checking in on me, but a lot of guys too have been reminding me remember what you say about resilience all the time? That strength is fine, but strength wanes over time and that's not about being strong, it's about being resilient. It's like yep, sometimes we have to be reminded. Right? And I even sent a video out of me walking around with my like it's where it's a selfie video where I'm showing my arm and then I point it down to my feet and so I've got this arm contraption and I've got boots on both my feet and I sent it to a bunch of dudes and I'm like, if I ever get to a point where I feel like I'm too big for my britches, I want you to just send me this video and just remind me of where I was and what my mindset was at that time. So again guys, it's always good to have those foxhole guys, guys that can hold you accountable and guys that can you know pick up your mat and carry you to the feet of Jesus. But uh yeah, I'm just in one of those moments where I'm just trying to discern what the Holy Spirit has for me. Hey guys, real quick. You've probably heard the phrase ignorance is bliss, right? Well, some of you are ignorant about where the beef that you buy at the grocery store comes from and what it took to get to you. So that single package of grocery store ground beef can contain meat from over 100 different cows, sometimes from multiple countries. And if one of those cows was sick or mishandled in some way, it's mixed right into your dinner. So most people don't realize that some ground beef at the store isn't just beef either. It's scraps and trimmings chemically treated with ammonia to kill bacteria and then blended in to bulk up the weight of what you're buying. It's legal, it's cheap, and it's on the plates of Americans all over the country, usually without the customer ever knowing. So even if you buy what you think is a nice roast or steak, it's been passed from feedlot to processor to packaging plant, handled by people who will never eat it, and raised by farmers who will never see the end product. And in that journey, the cattle were likely fattened on hormone-packed feed, pumped full of antibiotics just to survive cramped feedlot conditions, and processed alongside meat from hundreds of other animals. By the time it hits your grill, you don't know whose cow it was, what it was fed, or what's actually in it. I don't want you or your family eating low-quality, jacked-up beef. That's why I want you to use the official beef delivery partner of Undaunted Life, Primal Beef. So, Primal Beef is a cattle operation owned and operated by Shawn Glass. He's a retired Navy SEAL that partnered with Jocko Willink to launch Primal Beef. So, what makes Primal Beef different from other beef delivery companies? It's a combo of the following. All-American black Angus cattle, and the beef comes from one farm, and that's in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. The beef is all-natural, no hormones ever, no mRNA ever. And after slaughter, the entire carcass is dry-aged, then hand-cut by artisan butchers, and then flash-frozen to ensure that it maintains tenderness, marbling, and flavor. And here's another cool thing. For every box sold, Primal Beef donates meat directly to a member of America's special operations forces through the C4 Foundation. So, you can take pride in knowing that your purchase will help put literal food on the table for America's finest warriors. If you're still on the fence, it's probably because you've been eating too much soy, drying your emo tears with your bangs, and you've forgotten what real food tastes like. Primal Beef can help with that. Try Primal Beef out today by going to primalbeef.com. That's primalbeef.com. Use the promo code Kyle to get 25 bucks off your first order. Again, that's primalbeef.com, promo code Kyle to get $25 off your first order. All right, next question here. What is the best man-friendly event or program you have seen a church host or run? So, guys, I've seen a lot of stuff like this cuz uh typically, if I'm brought in to speak somewhere, it's at a men's event. And so, I've seen men's, you know, breakfasts done early on a Saturday morning. I've seen men's conferences where it's like a Friday night and a Saturday morning. I've seen, you know, men's men's conferences that are even bigger than that, you know, the one that uh 11:22 did, where there's multiple speakers. There's a lot of guys doing other things in the lobby. Like, there's all kinds of stuff. I've seen a lot of great events. And typically, what all these events boil down to, I had a I had a discussion recently where there was an elder of a church that's got a meeting together with me, him, and the pastor of the church. And so, they're talking about men's ministry, what they're doing, and all these different things. And I just kind of asked them, uh what is your number one thing? Like, if if you do an event, like, what's the number one thing that you want men to do? He's like, we want to get men into men's groups. He's like, that's that's our number one goal with our men's ministry at our church. Conversation kind of keeps going, keeps going. And then, he very astutely asked me, "Hey, what is the number one thing that you think churches are doing wrong as it pertains to their men's ministry?" And I was like, well, this is going to be fun. I'm about to torpedo this meeting. I go, "Trying to get men into men's groups." And you could tell he was like trying to smile through the pain because he just told me a few minutes before that that that was their number one goal. And then, he's like, "Why is that?" I say, "Because what most churches do, if they do any men's ministry thing at all, is they throw a big event. They feed guys meat. They I bring in a guy like me to yell at the guys and get them all fired up and motivated. And then, before they leave, they take down their name, number, and email. And then, they tell them, 'Hey, our men's groups meet on this day at this time. Come on in, we'll give you a number, and we'll send you to a table.'" And then, the tables don't fill up. And the churches are shocked. Well, well, we had this great event. Guys were, you know, guys were confessing sin, and guys were even crying, and they, you know, the speaker got them so fired up and all that. Why aren't they coming to this group where they're just forced to sit eyeball to eyeball with other men and give their thoughts and pour out their feelings and hearts? It's like, well, think about the types of guys that are drawn to that environment. And so this actually happened recently. I was speaking at a church in the Kansas City area here recently. And it just hit me all at once and I wish it had hit me a long time before this. But I said, "You know what?" Cuz he was like, "We just got to get guys in men's groups. We got to get men in men's groups." And I'm like, "Well, why? I mean, you you know how men connect? They got to connect shoulder to shoulder first. They got to do something." And so this is what I'm telling churches from now on. This is your free advice, right? So if you're on you're a on church staff, you're a pastor, I know we got a lot of pastors listening to this. We got a lot of elders and and deacons and and whatever listening to this. If you have men's groups at your church, which I think you should have, those men have to do something before they can join a group. Before they could even qualify for a men's group, they have to do X, Y, and Z. And it should be some form of helping the widows and orphans, helping some single moms, maybe it's some lawn work, maybe it's trimming up some trees, maybe it's clearing out some land, moving some trash, maybe it's doing some some you know, Mr. Fix-It stuff at the house, you know, fixing the front door, you know, fixing that running faucet, doing all those different things, like, you know, helping kind of get if it's a single mom, maybe getting her a reprieve, getting her some some different things and and they got to do that. And then maybe there's a discipleship class at your church, right? That helps men be discipled, but also it helps them understand how to be a discipler, so that they can disciple other men, so they can disciple their children, so they can lead their wives well. And only after they have jumped through some of those hoops, are they qualified to join a men's group? Cuz we again, we we try to do the free and easy thing and men just aren't attracted to free and easy. Like again, you know, we're in kind of dominion style. Y'all have heard a lot from our dominion guys and we've been doing a lot of interviews and stuff like that. And boy, don't we get the complaints? Why is this program cost money? It should be free. Why are you taking advantage of God and the gospel in order to make money for your company, to feed your family? Now, I mean, these people obviously they trade their time and talent for money, but I'm just supposed to trade my time and talent for nothing. For positive vibes and thumbs up emojis online right? Well, it's the same thing I've repeated over and over. Men don't change their lives because of free things. You didn't download a free app and that changed everything. You didn't have someone give you a book for free and it changed everything. You didn't go to a a conference over the weekend for free, a men's event for free and it just changed everything. Sometimes it happens super anecdotally, but in the mean in the main, that's not how it works. It's when you invest significantly, time, effort, and capital in something that you actually start to change. So, why in a men's ministry context do we just assume that men can do nothing, can [clears throat] invest nothing? There's no pound of flesh, there's no investment of elbow grease, there's no sweat on their brow. And yeah, just come on in. Go to table number eight. Yeah, there's bunch of dudes around that table that you've never done anything with. You don't know them individually or personally. Uh so, you certainly don't trust them, but yeah, just go over there. Pour your theological and emotional heart out. Shoo. Go Yeah, right over there. Table eight, right there. Again, it's broken. I've talked about man-friendly churches a lot. I'm still going to stand up with that, that churches should be man-friendly. The the lead pastor should be manly, the elders should be manly, there should be manly stuff available for the men to do, especially the volunteer opportunities should have men in mind. The songs should be sung in a key that man men should hit, there should be congregational singing. Gosh, turn the amps down a little bit, turn the house lights on just a little bit so the men can actually hear other men singing and all that. It's not just a bunch of female voices or our voices that are in such a high pitch that only the women understand how to get there. Yeah, all the things, right? But they need to invest their time and effort in potentially their capital in something before they get in a men's group. Probably the best advice I could give right now. All right, next question here. How would you personally disciple someone in your church who experiences SSA, which is same-sex attraction? Okay, so the thing about this is the church has gotten a bad rap for uh you know, their treatment of gay people and all that. All I will say is every church that I've ever attended, I've never once seen somebody that was same-sex attracted cuz there were those people in that church, I've never seen a single one of those people be mistreated. I'm not saying it's never happened in any church ever. Obviously, it has. I've never personally experienced it, okay? So, Faith Bible Church right now, this is a very politically conservative, theologically conservative, Bible-based church. And if somebody came in and expressed their same-sex attraction, the response from Pastor Mark and Pastor Jay and the rest of the elders and the other people inside the church would not be, "Get out, homo." That that wouldn't be it. Get Get your nasty OUT OF HERE. YOU'RE ABOMINABLE abominable lifestyle. Get out. Nope. We would love on that person. We would show them the truth in love. Again, think about Jesus with the woman that was uh you know, the woman at the well. And he tells her to go get her husband. She had had what, five or six husbands before that time and she was shacking up with some dude at the time that wasn't her husband. Did Jesus ignore her sin? No, he put his thumb on it. Forces thumb right into that wound. And his thumb was covered in salt. I bet that wasn't very comfortable for her. Some of you are like, "Oh, that sounds kind of mean. That's kind of judgy." Yeah. Yeah, it was. But he couldn't get to her soul, he couldn't get to her heart unless he addressed her depravity. He had to address her sin. And her particular chosen sin was sexual. It It sexual immorality. And so, in this context, if it were me and somehow some way either I found out about it or they confided this in me, that would be a discussion to where it's like, you know, maybe there's an evangelistic discussion right now. Cuz if they don't know Christ, what is any discipleship going to do? So we need to share Christ with them and before we do anything else, we have to make sure that they're saved, right? They have to give their lives to Jesus. Then once we've done that, we can talk about how Jesus can't just be your savior, he has to also be your lord. Which means you take the Bible and you put your preferences and your thoughts and your beliefs underneath it, right? You don't sit on top of it and say, "Here's all the things that I believe and that I think everyone should do." You are subservient to it. And so if you are legitimately same-sex attracted, I know that there are people that have prayed for that to go away, that have had people that have prayed for those desires to go away and it has. But way more people, speaking in, you know, just greater percentages here, way more people that were same-sex attracted have been same-sex attracted their entire life, they become followers of Christ, they still have the same same-sex attraction. It's still there. They are male who has only ever been attracted physically and sexually to males and they are still attracted physically and sexually to males. But now for the sake of Christ, they have to put that sinful desire to the side so that they can die to themselves and live to Christ. Same thing if you have a chemical addiction, you're drawn to the bottle or the pills or something like that. Yes, you have a desire cuz again, we culture would tell us, "Well, hey, that's their desire. God made them that way, so they should be able to act out in that way." You know, some people have a tremendous desire for acting out, for for consuming tremendous amounts of things that are harmful to their bodies. We don't celebrate that, we tell them to stop it. You know, some people have a tremendous desire to take advantage of people, to lie to people. We don't say that that's tolerable. We tell them to stop it. There are a lot of people that have a a pull towards violence. They solve everything with their fists. We don't say that's acceptable. We say stop it. Right? But when someone's same-sex attracted, it's like, oh, it's just the way they were made. God wouldn't have made them that way otherwise, right? No, it's just their particular style and flavor of depravity. And so, if somebody were in my orbit and I were counseling and discipling them, it'd be evangelistic to begin, and then it would be, "Jesus can't just be your savior. He also has to be your lord. And if you still have these attractions, you can't act on them. There's no sin in temptation. There's only sin in giving [clears throat] in to the temptation." All right, next question here. We got a couple left. What is the best way to deal with a liberal politician or campaign worker coming to your door? First of all, if there weren't that many weirdos on the internet, I would give out my address right now, and I would say, "Please send a liberal politician or campaign worker to my door." But, you know, that may never be that may never happen for me. I'm in the deep red part of a deep red state, so I'm not sure that'll ever happen to me. But, here's what you do. You engage them in a conversation. Engage them in a conversation. Because if they are a liberal politician or a liberal campaign worker, we can probably rest assured that they are not saved. That they don't know Christ. Right? We can also rest assured that they probably are not used to arguing their positions cuz typically people that are wired for that, they're not good at arguing the point. They're good at castigating the other side as devils, as bigots, as horrible people, as white supremacists, as Zionists, or whatever the the latest insult is that they're they're told to say to everybody. But, there's an evangelistic opportunity there. That that may go your way, it may not. Your job may be just to plant the seed. You can ask if you can pray for them. Pray for the candidate that they're representing or praying for that person individually. You can challenge their positions. And here's the thing, what's what's the thing that I've told you over and over? There's one question that you can ask that can tell you whether or not you're dealing with fertile soil. You ask them, "Hey, if you were wrong about that, would you want me to tell you?" "If you were wrong about that, would you want me to tell you?" Cuz how they respond to that question tells you everything about the investment of time that you should put in this person. Cuz if you if they make a point, you say, "If you were wrong about that, would you want me to tell you?" And they say, "Well, I'm not wrong about that. That's ridiculous. I couldn't possibly be wrong." That's not fertile soil. Right? That's We're in a pearls before swine situation. Ask if you can pray for them and send them on their way. Uh, don't warn the neighbors. You know, just basically say, "Hey, this you know, you just assume that person's going by." But if they respond, "Well, well, gosh, I never really thought about it that way. I never really thought that I could be wrong on this particular issue. But yeah, I guess, uh, assuming that there was a blind spot, I would want someone to tell me." That's fertile soil right there. That's somebody that is movable. That's somebody whose heart is not completely made of stone at that point. So, the the best advice I can give you is to engage that person. All right, last question here. What are your thoughts about the Islamic Antichrist theory? So, there are a lot of different people that have talked about this. Uh, even my pastor, Mark, when he was on talking about his latest book, The Persian Storm, he talked about this. So, for those of you that aren't really aware of this, there's a whole lot more here, but I'll try to just summarize it quickly. Uh, there's a lot of people that understand the Antichrist. People have tried to guess who the Antichrist is, what country will he be from, what will he look like, all these different things. Is it even going to be a male? Is it even going to be a person? All these different things are bandied about. But the Islamic Antichrist theory basically looks at the descriptions of the Antichrist as we see in the New Testament, right? Or as we see in the in the entirety of the Bible, and it looks at how Muslims look at the Mahdi. The uh the so uh the 12th Imam essentially. I'm just going from memory here. The 12th Imam or the the Mahdi, which is going to come back to a basically win the world for Islam. When you look at the descriptions of both, they're almost exactly the same. Okay? That's why even in the last 6 to 12 months I've given more emphasis and more attention to Islam cuz yes, we need to deal with the woke stuff. We need to deal with the progressive stuff. We need to deal with stuff the Democratic Party is doing. All the evil that's going on there. Yes, yes, yes. And I will continue to talk about it. But Islam is the great dragon. Islam is. Okay? When we get towards Armageddon in the last battles, it's basically going to be Christ versus Islam. It's going to be Christ versus the Antichrist. It's going to be the truth of God versus the lies of the devil. That's what we're looking at. And so, I tend to agree with all the people that are espousing the Islamic Antichrist theory that the Antichrist will basically be a boon and a positive thing to Muslims. Could even be a self-identified Muslim and that they could bring on some of the things that we see described in terms of eschatology, end times, and all that type of stuff. So, it's an interesting thing, but it's just like with anything else, it's not knowable. Again, people won't read the Book of Matthew, but they'll read the Gospel of Thomas, which is a forgery, right? They won't spend any time digging into the Book of Daniel, but they'll be like wondering about you know, some ancient sect of Christians that thought about things this way. They get into Gnosticism. They get into things. Again, we can't possibly know how old the earth earth is, whether it's 6,000 years old or 10 bajillion years old or all those things. We love to get wrapped around the axle about stuff that is not knowable, and then we forget about the gospel. So, I'm not saying it's not important. I'm not saying that we shouldn't look at the Islamic Antichrist theory and to read books about it and listen to podcasts about it, but don't make it your number one thing. Your number one thing should be the gospel Jesus Christ. You should share that with everybody that you can. All right, guys, that'll do it for today.
