Let's be honest, most men drift. We wake up, we scroll, we work, and then we just rinse and repeat. And we know we're softer than we should be. That's why I built the 31-day resilience reset. This is not a devotional. It is a field manual for men ready to stop drifting and start fighting back. So, for 31 days, you'll train your spirit, mind, and body with scripture, prayer, and daily challenges that forge real resilience. Go to www.undaunted.life/31. life/31day to download this resource for free. That's undaunted.life/31day. Start your reset today. This is Undaunted Life, a man's podcast. I'm your host, Kyle Thompson. Let's get into it. Go Martin. Here we are. >> Let's go face to face. Go Jags. I know. Go. You like the hat? >> It looks good. I mean, the the Thompson boys now, I mean, they they don't want to hear anything else going on in our household other than Jags. They can't name a player for the Jacksonville Jaguars, but don't you come with any of that Colts, Titans nonsense in that household. They'll fight you >> good. >> And you saw them, too, right? Hey, they're they're I mean, you see, I mean, they're both a little little cut up. They can knock out. Hey, >> you send me videos on Sundays of them cheering us on. Let's go. Hey, and I will tell you as well, they uh in our household, they, you know, they get we have like a star system in our household and like x amount of stars equals x amount of Legos, like that kind of thing. They get stars for push-ups and squats, baby. I mean, it's just kind of like and they see dad every morning on their way. Yeah. Well, I mean, that's that's part of the thing. Actually, we're going to get into a little bit of Okay. >> Shama, but uh it's kind of crazy cuz I was going through my phone looking for something else and I found that picture the first time >> that I guess that would have been the first saturated we were at. I don't know if that was two or three years ago and they were little little and they were giving Uncle Joby a hug and uh man and now but I mean they're they love going into the worship center like while they're uh the worship team is like rehearsing just to try to get after some stuff but uh those boys man >> welcome back brother welcome back. >> Yeah it's good to be here. Uh, so we're recording this. Y'all are hearing this uh as capacas for October, but we're here for saturated. So, we just got done with night one. Uh, Robbie Gudy. Um, which I mean, he sat in this seat for the after and I feel automatically more jacked than I did. I mean, the arm the arm's coming back. We don't have to tell everyone about the joke that your wife Well, actually, you know what? It's actually pretty good for content. You go. How about you tell the world what Gretchen did to me? >> We were facetiming, right? >> Yeah, we were facetiming. >> And uh, >> and what was I facetiming her to do? I was facetiming her to tell her how great the reaction was for because I was getting blown up about her being on the Daily Blade. >> Oh, so you All right, this makes sense. All right, so uh we're renting a house right now and in the house there's a standup arcade game like old school 1980s games. It's got like a hund It's got like Donkey Kong, Miss Pac-Man, all that stuff. And so usually while I'm cooking, like heating up rice, I'll play a game of Donkey Kong. So you text her to say, "Thanks for Daily Blade. It's going great." Whatever. and she said, "Faceetime me cuz she was going to shame me and just show me playing Donkey Kong. So, I don't care. Whatever. I play Donkey Kong. I think it's fun." And then, so we're chatting and then I'm asking you about your arm and you show your your good arm and she goes to you cuz you were show I was like, "Oh, bro, you got new ink. I haven't seen it yet." And she goes, "Oh, is that your injured arm?" [laughter] >> So rude. And the thing was is she wasn't like she's too nice to have planned that. But I was just like, "You got to be kidding." like this is the one that didn't have the downfall, right? [laughter] This is the one that I'm not having to build back. And she just looked right past the new tattoos, right past everything and went right for the insult. So, I don't know if that like y'all had been planning that or but I mean, she pulled it off. Work like a charm. >> She did. >> Yeah. That's okay. But, uh, she sent me another picture today. And so, she can basically do and say whatever she wants to me for the rest of my life because she sent me a picture of a crust of a peanut butter chocolate pie that she's making for yours truly. She actually yeah I think it was yesterday or no I didn't see her last night so it would have been this early this morning. She's like I don't know if I'm gonna have time for that. I'm like babe >> this has been like three or four years in the making. >> I feel like you said you were and your yes needs to be yes and no. And then so she started getting after it and the good news is I I hope she makes two. I hope she makes one for me too. >> Well I have no intentions of sharing. So >> you won't you will not share. I mean it is so good. Well, because people because I remember uh I Garrett Gross is in town. Like he's awesome. So, shout out to that guy. But he took me home uh the other night. Uh he dropped me off because the Kelsey and the boys had the had the van that we have and like I left my phone in his car and so like I had to knock on the window. I had to get Kelsey's phone. I had to call Landon. I had it was like this whole thing. And he's like, "All right, tomorrow morning I want a chocolate John. I want a glazed [laughter] donut." And so I literally hit up what is it? Uh Sonatis or what's Okay, that's like right by the house. And uh I bring it and then all the girls in the office were looking at both of us like what y'all eat that stuff like because they're like how in the world do you like fuel off of that? I was like because this isn't like a normal thing >> you can sometimes. Right. >> Right. Right. >> Because it's not falling like when I intend to get off the wagon. I intend to tumble and fall and roll for a mile. Like I'm not going to like come out the wagon, have a little bit then come back on. >> No. You had a donut the size of your head. >> Yeah, dude. And that was I had peanut butter feel filling or something like that which means protein. Yeah. Exactly. So it's like I'm I'm good to go. Um but I did want to talk to you because by by now I think most people in our audiences will have heard this and I know this stuff makes you uncomfortable to talk about but I'm going to like require you to kind of like brag on yourself and your team just a little bit but Outreach magazine uh they did you know this little thing that this infographic about kind of the fastest growing ministries and blah blah blah and right there at number one is Church of 1122. Lake Point, Josh Howton was number two. >> Church 1122 the number one fastest growing uh church in terms of volume quantity in the country. >> And it's one thing when people just say like, oh, you know, Church 1122, it's one, you know, one of the bigger churches in the country, or hey, it's one of the fastest growing churches in the country, but that's hard to quantify. But then when you see somebody actually quantify it with the math >> and then they do the numbers and the the books haven't been cooked by by you guys to try to make it seem that way, like that kind of thing. And I know y'all aren't in the numbers game. You've said that about a billion times. It probably bears repeating how y'all feel about numbers around here. Uh you're not in the crowd business. Obviously, you say that all the time from stage. >> Correct. >> But it's not insignificant uh what this church has been able to do. And it's just like Joby when I describe for people that are like, "What's it like down there?" >> And I know what people mean. Like I know if I, you know, if they were asking me that question about something I was doing, like I would probably have a pretty good answer. I can't really describe it. Like, you know what I mean? Like, it's kind of hard. It's like trying to describe color to blind people. It's like I can't exactly describe what's going on. I'm just like, just come and see. So, I mean, when when you saw that news, what was it like? Um, they didn't tell me where we ranked. Um, but they had reached out to do an interview, so I thought maybe I don't know. Um, yeah, Ed Stzer kind of oversees that stuff. He's a brilliant mind in church and myology and theology and all that kind of stuff. So, thanks Ed and the outreach people. Yeah. I mean, it's it's it's a cool thing, I guess, to be recognized for just trying to be obedient to what God has called you to be. The thing that I want to celebrate for every church that reached anybody last year is praise God for every one of those human beings that Jesus Christ died for, whether they came to Christ. I mean, we've had more people come to Christ this year than ever in the history of our church. We've baptized more people than ever in the history of our church. >> Not just in one day, when you look at a a calendar a year, you know what I mean? >> Yeah. We've baptized, I think it's uh 4,036 people so far. And uh when this comes out, it'll be the past, but this Sunday, we're going to baptize some more people, you know? And so, man, just I just praise God for every time. Um, I mean, listen, if somebody just shows up to if they show up to this church, here's what I know is going to happen. We're going to sing to Jesus. We're going to preach the word. So, let me tell you the the the plan to get all these people here. Since the second week of January, we have gone word by word and verse by verse through the Gospel of Matthew, >> which is what all of the church growth experts would have told you to do. Like, just run that playbook. >> Just Yeah, that's it, man. So, we're on week however many weeks of the year there are. That's what we've been doing. We've just been preaching through the Gospel of Matthew. That's it. >> When you plan these out, you know, a year, year and a half in advance, you kind of have an idea of what your schedule is. And I could feel your pain a little bit. You even said this from stage the other day. >> You can't remember when you were going through, but at that time in history, you thought this chunk of Matthew 14 was going to be enough to do a whole sermon on, and then you get there and you're like, "Wait, that's it? Like, that's what I got to preach on." >> Yeah. I I have competing thoughts sometimes. Like last week here, I did um the very end of 23, all of 24, and the first parable in 25. And I'm like, what was I thinking, dude? That's like a that's a sermon series, and I got to do it in one because we we're trying to do the whole book of Matthew this year because I knew where we were going this fall. We're launching into a two-year disciplehip journey called Neighbors to Nations based on the Great Commission. And as I'm thinking about the sermons for the year, I was like, "All right, I know I'm aiming at the great commission. and what's the how do I get our people ready for the great commission? And then I just thought, well, here's a dumb idea. Matthew's already done it. >> He wrote the whole book aiming at the great commission. >> Yeah. >> So, why don't we just teach you the whole Gospel of Matthew? Now, what's been so helpful for me, Kyle, and you'll know this too because you read your Bible a lot, right? And I've never read it in such big chunks. I typically >> like, you know, there are these little sections here, you know, like Peter denies Jesus, and you'll just read those like six verses >> and and especially my preacher mind. I'm like, "Oo, that verse reminds me of this verse." And I'll go there or I'll just get obsessed with one word, which is a wonderful way to read the Bible. >> But also another wonderful way to read the Bible is to read huge chunks at a time. And then what I begin to see is that sometimes three chapters of Matthew are actually just making one point. >> That's right. >> Or a lot of times that I've never seen before this year in my study for it is what Jesus does is he juxtaposes two opposing viewpoints. Like I never put together that the little children are coming to Jesus. They're they're coming faithfully. They're coming humbly. They are not asking for anything. And then the very next thing is a rich young ruler. And it's just this perfect picture of this is how not to come to Jesus. Like, hey, I've been keeping all the commandments and he goes away sad or you come as little children. So, that's been really really helpful for me. And the older I get as a as a preacher, man, the more and more and more I just trust that just trust the word. You don't have to have these like cute intros. And I mean, I preach with fire cuz I just feel like my bones are burning when I'm when I just got to like get it off me. >> But I can't help that part. But as I've grown in maturity as a preacher, and I still got a long way to go. I just trust the text more and more and more. Like the thing that's going to change a life is the Holy Spirit via the word of God, not my ramblings about what I think about it. Hey guys, real quick. I know a lot of you train for very specific things. So maybe you've got a mud race coming up, a mountain hunt, a 5K, or maybe you just want to keep up with your kids, or you just don't want to let the old man in. Because like you know people will comment like, "Hey, how how can y'all like me and you separately on our own platforms but also together? How's it possible for y'all to create that much content?" like what like >> they don't understand what it is to be a content creator first of all. >> So let's talk Daily Blade. I think what you do for the Daily Blade is 10 times harder than what I do for the Daily Blade. >> It's just different. But I mean, yeah, >> it is way harder, dude. I mean, you have themes and you chase a theme and it's brilliant and I love it and I'm I'm engaged with it and >> um part of because just the pace of my life right now. One I think is very But as you know, I'm just walking through Philippians. That's right. >> And I have no plan. I have no plan. I have no long I have no idea how long it's going to take me on Daily Blade. >> All I do is is I just pick up my Bible and I know I got about a 5m minute window to hit and I just start I pick up from where we left off the last time I was up and I'm like, "Okay, there's day one and there's day two." And dude, sometimes it's five verses. Sometimes it might be a whole chapter. But it is your original question. Doesn't it take the pressure off? Yes, >> man. >> Yes. >> It's so great. The other thing it forces me to do is talk about things that I would not volunteer to preach on. [sighs] >> Okay. Say more about that, >> bro. How about the divorce passages in Matthew? >> Yeah. Build out a sermon series out of those. >> That's rough. >> Yeah. >> You know, it'd be really easy to be like to just like have an idea. All right. Here's some things I I definitely want to preach on and then go find Bible verses to support what you're saying. >> Y >> when you teach through books of the Bible, it's cuz it's actual events with real life people and it just covers everything. You know, like some people are like, "Do you preach the felt needs?" Yeah, cuz I preach the Bible. >> Yeah. >> And so like Matthew was writing to a particular audience on a particular purpose and people are people. And so it will cover all the felt needs. I'm just not starting with a felt need. I'm just starting with the text or honest quite honestly man I just preached Matthew like I said Matthew 24 and so I knew the day I said we're preaching through the Gospel of Matthew bro we got to do the abomination of desolation some people get all geeked out about that talk about end times they got charts and >> they got it all figured out they can tell you that the locust are the Apache helicopters and you know whatever. Okay. So here, dude. So for weeks, man, I thought um I need to be able to steal man every orthodox position on the end times. So I feel like I could do that now. I think I could I could explain the position of the premillennial, the post mill, the a mill, the you know, everybody >> pre-trib post all the things. Yeah. I learned a bunch of new language like partial predtoist and all of this stuff and that hyper predtoists are heretics so it can't be one of those and >> yeah does that make sense? So it forced me into some study that if I was just kind of preaching for my own life >> I don't think I would be like you know what we're going to talk about end times. >> Yeah. Well it's a different muscle. And so it's like, well, I was just thinking about this the other day because I was explaining like how I run people through workouts and I'm like, if someone's really like gym strong >> and like, man, they'll be fine doing the calisthenics and the jump stuff and the push-ups and all that. >> If I make them wall sit or hold a plank, it's different. >> It's different. >> It it gets into brain a little bit more. There's no momentum that you can use to like, you know, squat down. All right. Momentum to get yourself back up. And so the same thing like you you kind of mentioned this because this was not a plan for any of y'all out there that thought we like planned how the Daily Blade was going to go. The idea started with hey Joby I can't find any content for that's like five six minutes a day to get me going like for men. >> Yeah. And five percenters shout out. And so it's like so how do we do this? And so we both just started doing our own thing and you kind of sunk you know into this you know mold [clears throat] for hey we're just going to go you know verse by verse through some some different books. And that's just where you're at now and you can change and do something different. I did one on like five things I've learned in leader as a leader. I'll do that stuff again occasionally, but right now, yeah, I'm just going verse and I kind of like sunk into this mold of like, okay, theme and then even further like, okay, what if we're telling stories? Like, what if we're doing like, okay, we're going to wrap this whole thing up in in one like story or hey, what's something like whenever, you know, the Odyssey film came out, uh, it was like, okay, >> let's go to the thing that's thousands of years old. Let's go to that thing. The thing that, why are we still talking about this? I'm reading a biography about Alexander the Great right now. Why in the world are we still talking about that dude? It's like there are things that are connected in his in his life that have like burst through every zeitgeist and you know hegemonic setup or whatever thing you want to say to just be this through point that goes through history where you can't understand it unless you understand this person. >> And so I just get obsessed with you. I heard you and Chandler even said this at church leader summit which was before uh before saturated. by the time Sunday rolls around or for him Saturday or for you Thursday, like whenever you're about you, you you just have to get this out. You have to get these words out. I feel the same way when I was doing the Hell's Hydra stuff, when I was doing the Leash on the dragon. It's like I just have to get this out of my head. Um, and I [clears throat] I wasn't intending to transition to talk about this, but >> that's been no more apparent for me than when I recently did a two-hour episode on the Lindsey Clancy case. And I mean, for weeks, Joby, I was steeped in the trial, in the crime, in the reaction, in the misinformation. Even with people in my own life, I described on the podcast, I'm getting this arm tattooed, and I hear another tattoo artist on the other side of the room describing the case of somebody. Everything they said was inaccurate. Everything they said other than the people's names, right? No mention of Cora, Dawson, nor Ken. And >> Joby, I mean, we'll get into some other anniversaries. We've had several kind of macob anniversaries that are kind of happening around this time period and you know cuz last year I'm getting off a plane to come to day one of saturated and Charlie Kirk was murdered in front of the entire world and I want to talk about that but it's like the mask got taken off of so many different people in society all at once and then every day another one of the jurors comes out and now like you know the the guy who was outed as the lone juror that said no she's guilty and we're we're not playing this game. He said on day one of deliberations, day one, hour one, like eight of the uh nine women in there were basically saying this case is going to be so important for women across the country and across the world and we have to do the right thing. >> Which means they shouldn't have been on the jury to begin with, right? That's you have to look at the evidence and then assign guilt or innocence. Yeah, for sure. >> But as a pastor, you're not, you know, unfamiliar with darkness. You're not ill equipped when it comes to pushing it back, right? I try to do what I do to help guys like you do what you do and so that we can all push back darkness, right? >> This is a darkness that I don't even quite recognize cuz it's one thing to call it feminism. It's one thing to call it demonic. It's one thing to call it whatever. I just I struggle to find a cute, nice, neat, neatly packaged category for what we're seeing societywide as it pertains to a woman who set out to strangle her three children, planned it out, and did it. And so I I mean you haven't talked about it from the stage. It doesn't necessarily fit into Well, >> we talked last weekend. >> Okay. So, uh by the time you guys hear this, you'll be able to you'll be able to hear that. And so, you know, talk to the guys about the reason Yeah. So, we've talked about this before. My job is not to preach the the newspaper, right? But when Jesus is talking in Matthew chapter 24, he says um one of the signs of the ends of time, he puts these two things together. He says that lawlessness will increase and the love of people will grow cold. And it's crazy how you put those two things together. It's easier for me uh theologically to kind of understand the the evil that a person could do, especially somebody that says that she heard voices and all of that kind of stuff, you know? I mean, there are individual evil people. I think the real confusing thing, the outrageous thing is the response. You know what I mean? Oh, sure. And part of what I said because of the way that verse had those two things together, lawlessness and a lack of love. So the opposite of lawlessness would be justice and obviously the opposite of a lack of love would be love. Well, as Christians, because I love the way you ended your episode. I mean, you hammered it for a long time on your episode, but then at the end, you had this hope for the power of the gospel, even for the person that has done the most heinous thing you could possibly do to strangle your children. All right? Because [clears throat] what I'm afraid of with something like that, especially, and again, I've said this before, you've repeated it a million times, the the role of a prophet, which is kind of the role that you play as a podcaster, and the role of a pastor are different roles. A prophet drops truth bombs to people he may or may not know and just lets them deal with the consequences of it. A pastor should definitely have a prophetic edge but also a priestly edge. And you are you are shephering a flock of sheep and you have to start where they are and then lead them to still waters green pastors. Okay. So our church for sure by the grace of God leans right. Not crazy right just normal right. They just you read through cuz there is an amoral symmetry right now between the two primary political options we have. >> They're both going to lead us to hell. One's just going to lead us way slower than the others. That's just, you know, seems obvious to me, not to everybody. All right. >> So, the number of people that would see the Lindsy Clansancy case and then just support her kind of blindly, you know, this is that you're you're just like I just think Jesus said it. It's a it's a rise of lawlessness. like there's like where's the justice for the kids? But then the other thing that I've seen and honestly if I just wanted cheers and applause in our congregation, if I just hammered that, bro, everybody would clap. Couple moms would be mad maybe. But what I've got to also do as a pastor is contend for the gospel and say to listen man, if you're out there and you're hurting and you're sad and you hear voices and you want to hurt yourself or hurt somebody else, can you please let somebody know this is a safe place. We're not going to beat you up. We're going to help you. Can you imagine if cuz what what you don't want to do now the real d a danger of this case is is anybody with a mental health issue can kind of get demonized as like oh they're just using that as an excuse like hold on one second man demons are real this is this is a real thing and if your church isn't going to be like a safe place where some people with some intrusive thoughts that they that you know that any normal Bible believing person would be like that ain't good cuz just imagine Imagine if she had a godly band of sisters around her and she was like in a small group Bible study and she had and she could actually bring some of these things to the light. Maybe she should could have gotten some help and these three little kids would still be alive. So in my role, I've got to try to thread the needle. So as Christians, can't we walk in true gun at the same time? >> Can't you call for justice? >> Yeah. >> A woman murdered her kids. >> Can we just put it on the bottom shelf? That's bad. Justice needs to prevail. And can't we also say to the broader community and if you have intrusive, negative, evil, demonic thoughts, we are here to help push back darkness in your own life. And so, so what I'm just a little bit cautious of is it's real easy kind of in the manosphere podcast space to just bash and not and not also offer the hope of the gospel if that makes sense. Well, I mean, >> yeah. So, I talked about it last week. >> Well, Joby, I I mean, at different points throughout the preparation for that episode and the writing of that episode, I'm just sitting at my workstation in tears. >> Yeah. >> Thinking about what happened, thinking >> you called me to pray over you. I was in the woods writing a sermon, so I didn't have my phone. But >> Yeah. Well, and you know, when I called you, it's because I had spent 10 minutes pacing back and forth in my studio, staring at my record button. Yeah. No, [clears throat] knowing what was coming if I hit it. Well, you read the transcript of the 911 call. >> Yeah. And I mean, I got a lot of people that reached out afterwards that are like, "Man, I was driving. I had to pull over because I just couldn't I had to pause it. I had to pick it up back up later." >> Like, so imagine sitting with that >> like on top of your sternum for weeks [clears throat] at a time. >> And again, my my job I feel like God put me on this planet to equip men to push back darkness. You don't push it back by ignoring it. And you don't push it back by just pointing at it either. And as I was writing out my my final thing, like, hey, if you stood with me for two hours, here we are at the end. Let's like put a bow on this thing, like just typing out the words praying that the gospel penetrates the heart of Lindsay Clancy. My flesh was like, "Nope." >> Yeah. I was I was pleasantly surprised by that. the last five minutes. >> But as I was typing it, I knew it was true, but it was like I didn't want it to be because of the heinous nature of the crime. >> But that's a really good I mean that's what disciplehip is, man. Your feelings make a terrible God. They make an okay gauge. >> Yeah. >> And what you're doing is you just align you just said true things according to the scriptures. And then hopefully over time our feelings will catch up with what is true, >> right? you know, as opposed to like having feelings and then trying to find verses to support what we feel. >> But in terms of the walk and chew gum thing, no, I don't think Christians apparently are capable of doing that because at the end cuz this was the dichotomy I laid out and it's brutal. Like, and I didn't do it for brutal sake. I did it because it was in there and it needed to come out of my face hole. But it's like we should pray that the gospel penetrates the heart of Lindsay Clancy. We should also at the same time pray that she's executed for her crime. And at the same time, if she refuses the gospel of Jesus Christ, if there are gradations to hell, I hope she's in the darkest, most unpleasant part of it. >> Well, vengeance is God's. >> Sure. >> So, this crime will be paid for eternally and ultimately, either at the cross of Christ or at the great white throne, judgment of Christ. And gosh, you got to remind I I got to find out who said this first because I I've used it so much and I would love to give them credit, but it's like the people that the Apostle Paul when he was Saul of Tarsus, the people that he murdered because they were Christians were the leaders of his welcome committee into heaven. >> That'll blow your mind for the rest of your life. I just got chills saying it. I knew what I was going to say and I still got chills. But like >> it's like we can't separate those things off. Like our our buddy Garrett, like he goes out and he catches pedophiles. like he's he has decoys chat with these guys online and then he finds them. And I mean this is a really really tough dude, a really serious guy, but so tender towards the gospel. He's the ultimate dichotomy of a human being, right? In terms of incredibly capable of violence, but he leaves the sword sheath until until that moment comes. >> The other day Reagan says to me, she's like, "Dad, who's the guy with a cross tattoo on his face?" And I was like, "Oh, that's my buddy Garrett." And she was like, "Dad, he walked up to me. He's the meanest looking guy I've ever seen in my life. He was scary. And he walks right up to me. >> He puts a big smile on his face and he says, "Hey, Reagan. I've been looking forward to meeting you." >> That's right. >> He goes, "Dad, he's so sweet, >> dude. He's a walking contradiction. >> So sweet." >> But why why is he so sweet? >> Cuz he loves Jesus. >> That's right. Because the gospel of Jesus Christ got in there, [clears throat] man. >> Like he could literally kill you. >> Yeah. >> He's got another pro fight coming. You should Where is it? >> It's in Missouri. I'm not uh I'm not able to go. >> I can't either. >> Yeah. So he's uh it's his last fight. He's almost had 50 fights. >> I know. Yeah. This will be 50 I think. >> Like guys, >> do you understand what has to happen inside the brain of a human being for 50 separate occasions? He gets in a cage half naked with a referee. The only reason he's there is to make sure one guy doesn't kill the other guy before the coaches can get there. That's his whole job, right? It's not about, you know, managing eye pokes and crotch shots. That's the only reason he's actually in there >> like where you have to go in your brain to kind of like get to that space. >> But this was just what he was put on this earth to do. >> And now he's leveraging that very unique talent to go catch pedophiles to the glory of God. That's right. >> And I'm telling you, man, I disciple him pretty directly. And uh he lays it before the Lord, man. I mean, multiple times. He's like, "Hey, man. Am I doing a good thing or a bad thing? Can you help me walk this through because I'm getting a lot of hate?" I'm like, "I don't know if you know this, but there's a lot of hate on the internet, so quit reading that stuff." >> Yeah. >> And Yeah. Yeah. I mean, and and because part of what he does that there's a lot of critics, but he works in conjunction with local law enforcement. >> That's right. >> And honestly, >> if you don't, you're just making content. >> Correct. Yeah. >> And sometimes though, he has to push the local law enforcement to actually do their job. >> That's one of the most infuriating things cuz because I follow Gar and look at his stuff and you know, Scrappy MMA, that's another guy that does this kind of thing. Um, I see I see a lot of those videos on my algorithm. I literally saw this video of this guy that he literally like caught the pedophile. He had all the transcripts and everything, but he didn't, you know, associate with the, you know, local law enforcement or sheriff's office beforehand. So, when the the sheriff's deputy or the police officer showed up, >> like he the the pedophile is like walking away and the guy's like, "Look, there he is. Look at these transcripts." He was trying to meet like a 13-year-old boy for sex or something like that. >> And the cop literally sat there and lectured this guy about not going through the right channels of, you know, attaining this information. And that was Chris Hansen's thing back way early in the day with to catch a predator. They would always let the pers go, but they thought publicly shaming them by putting the videos out on CSNBC or wherever that was was going to be enough. And the public outcry was like, "Wait, you let these guys go so that they could do this to somebody else?" And this is kind of like early stage internet. Like it wasn't like it is today where they're getting to your kids through Roblox and Xbox Live and Snapchat and all that kind of stuff. Uver Bible app. They had to close a loophole on there because they had pedophiles that were sending screenshots through the Uver Bible app. These guys will not be denied. Like and so just having filters on your phone isn't enough parents uh when it comes to your kids and what these pedophiles are able to do. But the long story short is is the the hoops that these guys have to jump through just to get evil men that are trying to have sex with children behind bars is astonishing. >> Well, it's demonic, dude. If you go all the way back to like Moolik, there was always a couple things as sexual immorality and the abuse of kids. >> Yeah. >> Child sacrifice. >> Same demons and just new days. >> Well, and you you look through times of history, and that's one of the reasons why I'm just like geeking out on this uh Alexander the Great book is I mean, it's thick. I mean, it's a it's a history book, but I'm having the the author on the show. Um, it'll be out, I don't know, it'll be out before or after this talk, but um, you know, it's 500 pages of the narrative of Alexander the Great's life. And one of the the things that I love to talk to people about is you're you may think you're the point, but always consider the fact that you're not the point. You got Billy Graham right up there. Don't you think his dad thought he was the point? Yeah. >> But apparently he wasn't the point. Billy was. >> Yeah. >> I bet Philip II, a Macedon, thought he was the point. But you go ask some random slappy uh like out, you know, in the world, hey, who's Philip II? They got nothing. But you say, have you ever heard of Alexander the Great? Well, of course I've heard of Alexander the Great. One thought he was the point, one actually was the point. And you when you see the same demons, new days, like that kind of uh environment. It helps you place things that happen in the news cycle into a little bit more perspective. Like this is not something new. >> Yeah. >> So around a year ago, from the exact recording of this, Charlie Kirk was murdered in front of the entire world. I was actually sitting right here recording podcast. >> Yeah, I was on an airplane with the family and as soon as I get off I got a a text from my buddy Sam with the video and that's not something you can unsee and you know the wound was not something that looks survivable. Um obviously and then you and I were just >> blasted by by people for for 24 hours cuz they're just like we need y'all to talk about need y'all to talk about it. We set up a an extra recording to talk about it. And then you look back over the last year, Joby, you've had all the conspiracy theories. You've had all the Oh, if you look at an aerial photo of the this university, you can draw these lines and it turns into a pentagram, which by the way, I can take any aerial photo of anything and hook a bush to a tree to a gate, to a parking lot pole, to anything and and draw you a pentagram, by the way. >> But you have all that stuff. You have the people that the moment the Charlie Kirk uh statue, this big statue outside of the TPUSA facility, the moment that it was erected that same night it was vandalized, somebody put red paint on the throat and put like, you know, all this stuff. And yeah, it's one thing to say, oh, I mean, you know, new new demons or same demons, different day. It's it's kind of easy to put it in that, but the overtness of evil, I don't think it's just because we all have an internet connection and everybody's taking photo and video at all times, so we just see it more often. I think it's deeper. And you know, I don't want to make some sort of esqueological prediction or anything like that, but the it seems like Satan's being less overt than he's ever been in terms of revealing who's actually evil and believes in this stuff and who's trying to push it back. >> I think there's a lot of folks that are a little bit just subject to their algorithm. uh on the anniversary of of Charlie Kirk's death, um somebody from our church posted because about a week before that, maybe two weeks before that, uh Charlie was in Florida, um with a great organ, the organization that gave me the uh William Wilberforce award this year. um he was the headliner at their event and uh he stood on stage and he talked about the church of 1122 and how we actively participated uh in getting amendment four struck down. That was the abortion amendment to change the constitution of Florida to make uh abortion legal for any reason or no reason up to the point of birth. You didn't minors did not have to get parental consent and a doctor didn't have to perform it. It and it was written in a really really confusing way and uh the enemy is the author of confusion. So, I hammered that thing like a nail. I mean, I preached it not cuz I'm trying to be political, but the government is trying to be theological and define what life is. And so, anyway, the the governor's office deemed 11:22 as one of the reasons that they got voted down because I would meet uh on Zoom calls with hundreds of pastors weeks leading up to the vote to just share with them how I had preached against it from the text. And so anyway, so [clears throat] somebody just shared Charlie bragging on 1122. The first comment to that was he was a racist. And I just thought I know the algorithm that you're fed by. >> Yeah. >> Like you're chopping cuz cuz what began to happen take somebody like Stephen A. Smith, not the most conservative guy ever right? Um and he decided Stephen A. Smith decides to just sit down and watch all the tape and he confesses I thought he was a racist too based on the short little out of context clips I had seen and I'm here to say he's not. Have you you obviously haven't watched it all. >> Yeah. >> So our algorithms it's obvious he he's a martyr for the faith. I mean he says my number one job is to lead people to Jesus. My number two job is to create the kind of culture where I can accomplish number one. >> Yeah. That's just who he is. And so I do think, dude, there's something. I mean, dude, AI and the whole uh I mean, I'm I'm watching these reels today and this guy's like, just watch this on Gemini. I'm going to do this live because they're going to try to chop it up when I'm done. And he just simply asked the question, is Judaism fake? No. The first answer is no. Is Hinduism fake? No. Is >> Islam >> is it fake? No, it is not fake. Is Christianity fake? And it says, well, it depends on how you look at it. >> Yep. >> And so if you It's all about, you've talked about this a lot, dude. The AI, man, the problem with it is the inputs. >> And so it does not take a rocket science to figure out that a lot of these AI generators, all the inputs have been from a secular worldview that is antirist. >> Yeah. I've seen different apologists say this where it's like, you know, you wouldn't look at an airplane and be like, "Oh man, a tornado must have gone through a junkyard and created that airplane." Yeah. It's even different than that because this would be an airplane being created by a jello factory, right? Like that's what AI is basically giving you because it's >> 99% left-wing uh progressive correct communistic atheistic individuals that are doing the inputs to teach the algorithm how to scrape the internet and for what kind of information. >> Correct. And >> or the Coke thing, you can make a Coke bottle and it's like whatever, Muhammad is king, but it won't let you say Christ is king. >> That's right. And >> you can even say Hitler is king >> or the devil is king. >> Well, and even the less pernitious way of doing is sure, thank God when you get your Grammy, when you get your Emmy, something like that, you thank God. >> You go say in the name of Jesus, it's like, hey, man, like let's chill out. I mean, you and I have talked about this country music theology thing a lot. like, you know, you sing your songs to the man upstairs and hey, your your altar is at some deer stand in the woods or something like that. >> But when you start singing about the name of Jesus, you're you're drawing a line in the sand that this isn't just something I put on the shelf with tractors and trucks and cheap beer. >> Like this is a man that I've I've dedicated my my life to. This man actually exists and actually said things. >> Shout out to Drew Parker who dling the gospel in the country music, too. Guess what I get to do next week? >> Let's go. What? Uh Drew is singing at the opy again, the Grand Opry. And they asked me to speak and introduce him. >> You're actually going to speak? >> Yeah. Not like a 55minute sermon, but like a >> like 20 >> a long intro. It'll probably be 10 minutes or something, but I just like how we I mean, and dude, >> I mean, I'm just going to preach the gospel and just say, you want to see the evidence of gospel the gospel change in a man's life? This guy was on tour with Luke Holmes. >> Yep. >> He has multiple number one, >> five or six number ones. Yeah. bro. And he walked out of his like country music the dream that he had walked out of his contract gets out of it by the grace of God so that he can just sing not just kind of the country music theology hat tip to the man upstairs. But I mean this is just straight country and it's if you like 90s country Yeah. >> it's 90s country gospel music bro. >> So good. I love that guy. Hey guys, real quick. I just wanted to remind you that we have an official Undaunted Life store. You can go to shop.undaunted.life or check it out in the show notes. Guys, we're always going to have hats and shirts and a bunch of other awesome stuff. Go there, support us, wear the mission. Again, it's shop.undaunted.life. Check out the link in the show notes. Shop.undaunted.life. Well, because you know, I feel like Christians and conservatives, that's why there are bad Christian movies and bad Christian songs out there. It's because because it's Christian, you're like, "Ooh, that guy's on our team. he's cool. Like, and so even if it sucks, it's like it we got to like it. We got to take our kids to go see this movie. >> And so when you get something that doesn't offend your senses, that doesn't offend your tastes. >> Um, and it's it's legitimate. And then you hear their story. I mean, when Granger Smith was on my show, this guy was bigger than big, like you know, uh, all kinds of number ones and he was writing and performing them and doing the whole thing. his son dies uh at in the family pool and he tried to keep it going for a while and then with a pistol in his mouth heard a voice from the Lord and said like basically I'm not through with you yet takes the pistol out of his mouth gives his life to Christ for real this time not just the >> hat tip >> and quits his music career so that he could go to seminary and like be like a local pastor of a congregation of like couple hundred and I don't even know that he's officially a pastor but he's like in the elder capacity helping disciple people And I've literally heard heard stories, Joby, about what he'll do on the road. This is Granger Smith, right? This is that guy. He was that Nashville guy, you know, guys struggling actually, like really struggling. Comes up to him after a talk or something like that. He goes, "Hey, hey, take my number. I'm going to follow up with you tomorrow. We're we're going to start working on this." And he's discipling people that he just randomly meets. Wow. >> Just giving his number out because his point is not to try to insulate himself from his ability to disciple others. Yeah. And there are a lot of people that are in a position to disciple and to assist that they they just don't take it because they feel like I don't know some sort of outside special treatment that they should get. >> Yeah. There's something happening in Nashville right now. [gasps] >> Oh, and we're going to help >> in the country music scene. Yeah. >> Yeah. Well, and I mean go smack them with say tell them country music theology is bad and Jesus is good. So act accordingly. Uh we're running out of time here. I just wanted to, this is really unfair to throw this at you as kind of like a last for a or last question, but I would be remiss if I didn't point out that I mean you guys are listening to this in October, but last month we had the 25-y year anniversary of 9/11 terrorist attack perpetrated by fundamentalist Muslims that killed 3,000 Americans. And had they had their way, it would have been tens of thousands of Americans on a single day. And that would have just been the first foray in their attack on the West. you even in the last few months um have dug into some more materials on Islam because you knew it was a false religion. You knew Muhammad, you know, uh married a six-year-old and consummated the marriage, raped her when she was 9 years old. You knew all those things. You know the verses about, hey, if you hear any other gospel like after this, even if it came from us or came from angels or something like that, don't do it. So, yeah, a Middle Eastern guy in a cave, he yeah, he qualifies like, "Oh, I heard from an angel." It's like, yeah, probably not. Um, but I'm just curious for you again, your interest in Islam and all the stuff you're studying and reading, Raymond Ibraim being some of that is coinciding with this interest that you have in esquetology, end times, even if if it's just for definitional work, you want to be able to describe things accurately, even if you're not going to firmly place a flag in one or two camps. >> Do you see a convergence of that even in your own interests like meaning something? Or am I drawing a line there that's a little bit too broad? >> Uh, no. It seems to me to be a one toone correlation. I mean Jesus says I mean the first thing that happens so in in Matthew chapter 24 the disciples basically say hey what's the end of the world going to be like? I mean the destruction of the temple when are you going to come? They say when are you going to come? Which obviously means come back because he's sitting right there right? >> And how's this whole thing going to end? And the first thing that he says he gives them a warning. >> He says do not be led astray. >> Verse four. And then in two different times, he's like, "There are going to be false Christs that come." Now, you got to think about this. He doesn't he doesn't say people are going to come and say they're Jesus. They're going to be false Christs. [clears throat] >> Here's what this means. They're going to offer you life apart from Jesus. Now, on the very surface level, this is every commercial that you ever see. This thing is going to satisfy you if you just buy this beer, if you just drive this car, if you just wear these clothes, you'll be satisfied. On the deeper level, there are going to be these people. And here's what's always common. And you tell me if Muhammad falls into this one. I have a special revelation from God. [clears throat] >> And I Well, we like Jesus as long as we get to define him. Not the Jesus of the Bible. >> Yeah. The prophet. >> We're going to redefine who Jesus is. And then we're also going to redefine what salvation is. Jesus warns over and over and over that's what's going to happen. And lawlessness is going to rise up. Just look at all the Muslim countries, bro. I mean, just look. >> Yeah. >> I mean, and and then it always, we said this before, it always plays itself out in two ways. At least two ways. Uh sexual immorality and the abuse of children. And so, just look at the life of Muhammad. What did he do? I mean, bro, in what they consider their sacred text, Muhammad is like, "Get get the wives you want, and if you want to put one aside for a little while, then you want her back. You get her. If you want to discard another one, you can discard another one. And he marries a six-year-old and sleeps with her when she's nine. Bro, this is this is demonic. And the crazy thing in our world, it's taking over. And they have a plan for our country. I think what is sick and sad is Christians don't Christians, you've said this 10,000 time, dude. Listen, man. If godly people don't want to run this country, then where that leadership vacuum is, the godless will step in. >> Yep. And now I also think this is kind of an end times prophecy because it talks about we will be disillusioned. Well, how dissolution is this? The far-left LGBTQ folks and the radical Muslims are on the same team. Help me un if that is not a spiritual disillusionment. >> I mean that is that is the craziest thing I've ever heard. And then what some a lot of I don't I I don't think anybody that listens to your show does this, but the number of wine moms sitting around just filling their heads with what Paul what Paul warned about. Be careful that the women don't get led astray by silly myths and stuff >> is what is happening by the millions of people. The millions of people whether it's in Lindsey Clancy or what happened at 911. I mean, all these conspiracy theories, you know, I mean, it's just people are just getting caught up in the craziest things and taking their eye off of what this book says we are to be about. And that's why I spend so much time added a fifth head to the hydra. You know, you have fundamentalist Islam, you have socialism, communism, LGBTQ activism, you have globalism, and then you have feminism. >> Feminine. Yeah. When you add those five things together, and I only elucidated the first four in that episode, I just did a partial list of what I could find and and figure out that were the contradictions in these groups being together. The two most stark are the LGBTQ plus progressives and the fundamentalist Muslims, right? >> And it's they stand for the exact opposite thing. Here's the thing. You know what it reminds me of? This is I'm a big illustration guy. All you got on a Jags hat. I'm a Jags fan. We were at the game last week where the Jags beat the Browns to death. [laughter] >> To death. I've never seen anything like it. Especially with the Jag. It was awesome man. >> Their first drive, we pick it off, we drive down, we score. Three and out, we get the ball back, we score. We get the ball back, we go down, we kick a field goal. We pick the ball off again, we score. I mean, at one point it's like 30 to nothing or 30 to three or something like that. I didn't see one Browns fan there who decided, do you know what? That other team's better. I'm switching sides. >> Yeah. So what begins to happen? Okay, so take the Clancy case. It's almost like something like this happens and everybody's like, "So my team all thinks this. This is my jersey. Therefore, this is what I think about gun control, about postpartum repression. Charlie Kirk is bad. Uh, Sharia law is good." Well, hold on. I thought you were for women's rights. Yeah, I am. You're like, bro, you just have the leftist jersey on. >> Yeah. Yeah. And you're just supporting your players, which is fine in football. Go down with your team. >> Yeah. >> But in your life, you got to have some sense. This is why you better study yourself approved with the word of God. So what we want to be on is team Jesus. >> And even for the right, bro, we also can't just say, >> I was about to go there. I'm glad you are. >> Well, we're conservatives. Therefore, everything Trump does is good. And every, you know what I mean? Like, no, no, no, no. We We serve King Jesus. We are in his kingdom. When it comes to voting, you should read your Bible and not just do what it says because what will happen was people will just find what they want. No, no, no, no. There is a there is an asymmetric divide right now and there is a party that is pro death and there's a party that is more for life. Not to the extent I wish it was. >> Sure. >> You know, I think we've dropped the ball like crazy. All kinds of things like that. And so the jersey that we need to have on is team Jesus. Obviously, it's easy to see the atheistic view, the the progressive view as being like just devoid of any moral conscience whatsoever. But guys, Christless conservatism >> is better. >> It still sucks. >> It it's like having the 6-in version of the turd sandwich and not the foot long like that. That's essentially where we are. I like word pictures, too. But, uh, so that's always the thing is like yes, it's fine to support your candidates. It's good to wear that team jersey and all, but you can't put some sort of a qualifier before the word Christian. It can't be, you know, white Christian, black Christian, Republican Christian, you know, conservative Christian. >> Yeah. Conservative Christian, therefore, you're probably conservative. >> And if your viewpoints do not comport with what the texts say Christianity is, right? Not church tradition, not something or someone in a pointy hat and weird shoes says. If it doesn't comport with what the word says, you just can't support it. You can't go that direction. And we have to have the cognitive dissonance cuz you know, one thing I'm seeing now, and we got to cut this off, but one thing I'm seeing now is pastors >> that didn't have a thing to say when Joe Biden and Kla Harris were in office. >> Uhhuh. >> Now are loving themselves, punching the right. They punch MAGA, they punch Trump, they do all these different things. And I'm like, you know what? I'm with you. However, I kind of think you're full of crap. I think you're full of hot air right now because you had nothing to say during the most pro-abortion administration in the history of the United States of America and had Kla Harris won, it would have been even worse than that. And so Howton put it as best as I've heard, a vote is not a valentine. Right? So the fact that I voted for Donald Trump to be the new president and was excited that he won does not mean I've been super pumped with everything that his administration has done since then. Can't we have that little bit of dissonance live in a little bit of dissonance, please? >> It's also not a sacrament, >> right? that the man has to be perfectly holy. Right. Right. It's just a vote. That's what it is. >> Yeah. Is what it is. But you got to get out of here. We got night two of saturated coming up. So, we're getting ready for all that. Anything you want to leave with anybody? >> Glad you're here, man. It's so good to see your family. >> It's going to be great. The boys are so excited to see it every single time. >> Made me happy when I see it. >> What did James ask you? What was his first question whenever he asked you? >> Uh, what did he ask me? I don't know. >> Well, remember I told you he drew in his little he has a he has a hunting book cuz he he's so excited to hunt. We think we might >> How do you make turkey nuggets? I said step one, shoot a turkey. >> That's right. So, he is very interested in like trying to figure out how to do that and I It's not a mistake, but I set up the tripod in the living room and I put my 308 on there. >> Yeah. You sent video. >> Yeah. And I just, hey, let's run the bolt. Hey, let's take it off safety. Hey, let's let's get our cheek weld on there. I put a watermelon out on the edge of the property and I said, "Find the watermelon cuz it's all green. Okay, find the red part and all that and then let's pull the trigger. Let's stay looking down the scope. Let's not look and see where it went." All James can talk about is getting a deer this year. That's all that boy can talk about and he's down for all of it. He wants to skin it, right? >> He wants to help dad make the jerky that he eats every single day of his life because that is the number one snack in our household is some form of dead animal jerky. Amen. >> And so they're ready to go. If it doesn't happen in Oklahoma, I think it might have to happen at the retreat center. Maybe we can invite Nathan Atville. What do you think? >> You you have an open invite. >> Uh all of us, the whole team, me and Nathan, me and my buddy. >> He just comes whenever he wants. >> Yeah, that's true. He just kind of pops up with his cameras and then doesn't post the video. Uh but Joby, appreciate you, man.
