This is Undaunted Life, a man's podcast.
1:21
I'm your host Kyle Thompson, let's get into it.
1:23
All right, guys, today on our podcast, we got a big subject we're going to be talking about,
1:26
but we're going to cover a few things before we get into that.
1:29
The very first thing that I need to do for anybody that listened to last week's episode,
1:33
we did a Q&A episode, and we did some USC fight predictions.
1:36
And guys, normally my fight predictions aren't terrible, right?
1:40
They're not completely awful.
1:41
You know, I'll get fights wrong from time to time.
1:43
That's a fight game.
1:44
You technically have a 50% chance of getting it right, but you can look really dumb on
1:47
a fight card.
1:48
But I did get the prediction for the Brian Ortega and Korean zombie fight correct.
1:55
I just got the fighter wrong.
1:57
So I said that that fight was going to be not competitive at all.
2:01
Because I thought that Brian Ortega tea city was going to get dominated by the Korean zombie.
2:05
I thought he was going to absolutely get destroyed and he didn't.
2:08
The exact opposite happened.
2:09
It was a clean sweep.
2:12
It was it was a 5045 fight, maybe even 5044.
2:15
He dropped Korean zombie in the first two rounds, Brian Ortega looked amazing.
2:19
He is known for his jujitsu tea city tees for triangle like he catches dudes and triangles
2:23
all the time, but the guy stood up basically the whole fight.
2:27
He shot some takedowns.
2:28
He completed some takedowns, but really he was just kind of like making Korean zombie think
2:33
about a few different things before he would react and go for the next thing.
2:37
It was a masterful performance.
2:39
I could not have been more wrong.
2:40
So if you are a Brian tea city or take a fan, I would like to apologize to you for me kind
2:45
of hating on your guy thinking he was going to get whooped.
2:48
Dana White already said he's going to get a title shot next against Alexander Bolkinovsky.
2:51
So congratulations to Brian TCD or take up.
2:55
The very next thing is one thing that I didn't do in the last Q and episode was go into my
2:58
World Series prediction.
2:59
Because at the time we had the Rays, they were up 3-0 on the Astros and then, you know, the
3:04
Astros came back to make it force a game seven and then you had the Braves up 3-1 on the
3:09
Dodgers.
3:10
And then Dodgers stormed back and won in game seven.
3:13
But here we are as of the recording of this podcast.
3:17
The Dodgers are up like six to one right now, Clayton Kershaw's on the mound.
3:21
It's a lead that potentially he can't even blow in the postseason.
3:24
But I will go ahead and give you my prediction for the World Series as it stood before the
3:28
game started.
3:29
I'm picking the Dodgers in seven games.
3:31
I think the Rays are fantastic.
3:33
I think their bullpen is absolutely fantastic, but I think the Dodgers are just an unbelievable
3:37
team.
3:38
And I just got to be honest with you, they have two of my favorite players in Major League
3:41
Baseball on their team.
3:43
And that is Corey Seager, their shortstop and Clayton Kershaw.
3:46
To be honest with you, I just kind of want the Dodgers to win this World Series because
3:49
it kind of counts and kind of doesn't, right?
3:52
Dodgers didn't have to win a single road game, right?
3:54
There weren't really a bunch of fans in the stands that they basically got comfortable
3:58
playing down there at Globe Life Stadium in Texas.
4:01
But at the end of the day, I want Clayton Kershaw to get his ring.
4:03
I'd love for him to win game one, come back, win game five, pitch and relief in game six
4:08
seven, win the World Series MVP and get that monkey off of his back.
4:11
But there's my World Series prediction, Dodgers and seven.
4:14
And here's the other thing.
4:15
If you listen to last week's episode, I told you that this week's episode was going to
4:18
be on the Amy, Amy Coney Barrett's nominations and confirmations.
4:24
Let's start that again.
4:25
Amy Coney Barrett, her confirmation hearings.
4:27
There we go.
4:28
I thought that there was going to be more news.
4:30
I mean, frankly guys, I thought there was going to be more news around this.
4:33
There was a little bit of hubbub last week with Maisie Herono basically saying it was
4:37
incredibly offensive that she would assume or imply that someone could choose their sexual
4:43
orientation, which is absolutely insane.
4:45
But there really wasn't anything that noteworthy, okay, which is making me think that Democrats
4:51
have have there, there's a couple of things in the offing either number one.
4:54
They understand that resistance is futile at this point.
4:57
They've already made their statements.
4:58
They've already got the stuff that they can do for their commercials.
5:02
So that's maybe one option.
5:03
And then the second option is they're planning something absolutely diabolical.
5:08
But I feel like the diabolical nature of the tactics that they are going to be using are
5:12
pretty much going to be directed at Donald Trump specifically, not necessarily somebody
5:16
that has an attachment to Donald Trump, like his Supreme Court nominee.
5:19
However, at this point, there's not a whole lot to report because the voting hasn't actually
5:24
happened yet.
5:25
I feel like as we get closer, there's going to be a few kind of finagling things that
5:29
the Democrats are going to do to try to slow this down, maybe get it to where it happens
5:32
after the election.
5:33
I've seen several timelines, but a lot of the timelines show that we could see a vote
5:37
as early as Thursday of this week.
5:38
I don't think that's going to happen.
5:39
I've seen as late as October the 29th or as late as never technically, but I still want
5:44
to kind of reserve judgment because I feel like there's, there's more coming, right?
5:48
There wasn't as much for me to bite into that I thought would come from the hearings.
5:52
Amy Coney Barrett, ACB came off looking incredible during those hearings.
5:57
The Democrats came off looking like buffoons.
5:59
And so we're going to go ahead and reserve judgment.
6:01
And part of the thing guys is there's going to be an interesting schedule for this podcast
6:04
coming up here soon.
6:05
Next week, next Thursday, I plan to release episodes about whether, you know, reasons
6:10
to vote for Joe Biden, reasons to vote for Donald Trump.
6:12
I'm still kind of formulating my thoughts around that.
6:14
The Amy Coney Barrett stuff is going to be coming when it comes.
6:17
And so I'll probably release another special episode.
6:20
This one's being released a little bit early because some of the stuff that I'm talking
6:22
about is time sensitive.
6:24
So you're going to get a lot of podcasts over the next two, three weeks, but they're not
6:27
going to maybe come in the same normal order.
6:30
And I could even spent this week talking about cancel culture kind of rearing its ugly head.
6:34
You know, I woke up the other day and basically Chris Pratt is twinning on trending on Twitter
6:38
and it's because he didn't want to go to a Joe Biden rally and all the people kind of
6:42
woke up and realize that Chris Pratt's a Christian and a Trump supporter or at least a Republican.
6:47
And so they tried to, you know, cancel him one person actually said that Chris Pratt radiates
6:51
homophobic white Christian supremacist energy, which if you got to have an energy, man, you
6:57
would want that many qualifiers in front of it, my goodness, but you know, he was potentially
7:01
canceled 50 cent, you know, he's trying to keep his pennies, you know, see what I did
7:05
there because he was saying screw this Trump or sorry, this Biden tax plan that's going
7:10
to cause me to pay 62% in taxes.
7:13
If I live in New York or California, he's like, no, I'm out on that.
7:16
So there's a lot of cancer culture going on right now, but, but the thing that we're
7:18
going to talk about, let's go ahead and transition into what we're going to talk about today.
7:21
The thing that really does deserve our attention and that's big tech.
7:26
Big tech did an egregious thing last week.
7:30
And what I'm not going to do is go into a big long explanation of the news story because
7:34
it's somewhat convoluted, but the reaction to it is the real story.
7:39
And that's the thing that's really concerning.
7:40
So if you have been living under a rock for the past several days, I'm obviously talking
7:44
about the stuff that has come up with Hunter, Hunter Biden's laptop, how that attaches to
7:49
Joe Biden and Ukraine and Burisma and potentially China and all these things.
7:54
So the very, very brief synopsis is that Hunter Biden took his laptop into a laptop,
7:59
Mac shop in Delaware with water damage.
8:02
He left it there whenever the owner of the shop tried to make contact with him to get
8:07
it back to him.
8:08
He never responded.
8:09
And so the shop owner actually went on there and made a copy of the hard drive.
8:13
He found some stuff on the hard drive that he found to be very, very concerning.
8:17
He tried to get the laptop and its contents to different people.
8:20
He tried to get it to the FBI.
8:21
The FBI basically said, ah, we don't really care.
8:23
He eventually gets it to Rudy Giuliani's lawyer.
8:26
Rudy Giuliani at some point gets it to the New York Post and the New York Post, which
8:29
is one of the largest newspapers on, on the planet, a gigantic distribution that's been
8:34
around for, you know, 200 years or whatever, um, they actually posted the story about what
8:38
they found with the emails that were on that computer.
8:41
There were a lot of emails with Hunter Biden and a Ukrainian oil and gas company named
8:45
Burisma.
8:46
You probably heard of that because he was being paid like $50,000 a month to be on the
8:50
board, even though he doesn't, you know, he's not from the area, he doesn't know anything
8:53
about oil and gas.
8:54
Um, and a lot of people just suspected of it so that they could take advantage of his
8:57
last name and potentially get access to Joe Biden.
9:00
Well, there's a lot of emails on, on this, uh, on this laptop that kind of point that
9:05
direction that there were deals that were being done specifically so that Hunter Biden could
9:09
use Joe Biden's influence or even, uh, introduce Joe Biden to some people within Burisma, which
9:15
at the time Joe Biden was working for the Obama administration and he was in charge of
9:19
the Ukrainian, um, the foreign policy as well as China.
9:23
And so it would be a gross, grossly, uh, horrifically bad and corrupt thing for Joe Biden, uh, to
9:30
be meddling.
9:31
Uh, he was meddling with prosecutors supposedly in all these times, but guys, again, this
9:35
isn't going to be a big recap of the actual story because wherever you get your news, you
9:40
you've kind of gotten your spin on the story because the news isn't actually the point.
9:43
It's the cover up.
9:44
It's the cover up that's worse than the crime because what happened was is the New York
9:49
Post put this out on Twitter and this is gigantic news, the stuff that they found, the emails
9:54
that they found.
9:55
It's absolutely gigantic news.
9:57
It's so gigantic that the Joe Biden campaign won't even answer questions about it.
10:01
When Joe Biden is almost accidentally asked about it while he's on the campaign trail,
10:05
he just walks away.
10:07
His surrogates that go on the news, they're not answering direct questions.
10:10
They're not saying, yeah, that laptops fake, uh, you know, all those emails are, are fake.
10:14
You know, none of these things actually happened.
10:16
They're actually not even saying any of those things, okay?
10:20
The media has even jumped in to say this is some sort of a Russian disinformation plan
10:24
or something like that, but even the director of national intelligence, John Radcliffe came
10:27
out here recently.
10:28
He actually said this quote, let me be clear.
10:30
The intelligence community doesn't believe that that, you know, the Russians are behind
10:34
this because there is no intelligence that supports that.
10:37
And we shared no intelligence with chairman shift.
10:39
That's Adam Schiff of California and other members of Congress that Hunter Biden's laptop
10:43
as part of some Russian disinformation campaign, it's simply not true.
10:47
And so that's the thing is, is everyone's kind of doing their own spin of it.
10:50
But the craziest thing is the reaction to this, okay?
10:54
Because big tech and I'm mainly talking about Google, Facebook and Twitter, you know, Google
10:57
owns YouTube, Facebook owns Instagram.
10:59
So the main ones, they absolutely throttled this story.
11:03
They didn't want you to see this story and the reasons for it are fairly obvious.
11:09
But Facebook was kind of the first people to come out.
11:12
There is a guy named Andy Stone that works for Facebook.
11:14
He is a career democratic party operative.
11:17
He worked for Barbara Boxer and some other people.
11:19
He actually tweeted again, he works for Facebook, but he tweeted, while I will intentionally
11:23
not link to the New York Post article, I want to be clear that this story is eligible to
11:27
be fact checked by Facebook's third party fact checking partners.
11:31
In the meantime, we are reducing its distribution on our platform now at no point does he post
11:39
why they are reducing the distribution or that the fact check, the supposedly third party
11:46
fact check came back to say that there was a lot of things that were wrong with the story.
11:52
At no point do they claim that the New York Post was lying.
11:55
At no point did they claim that the New York Post was misreporting things at no point.
12:00
But they openly say that they are going to be throttling, reducing the distribution of
12:05
that story on the platform.
12:07
And then you've got Twitter's actual reaction to this, and this was all over the place.
12:12
Hopefully you saw it, but you were not allowed to share the article on Twitter.
12:18
So a lot of people did screenshots of this, but if you pulled out Twitter and you went
12:21
to New York Post and you went to that article and then you hit the Twitter button right
12:24
to share it on Twitter, it wouldn't allow you to tweet it out.
12:27
It would give you an error message.
12:30
And a lot of times if you tried to share it around with any of your other friends or
12:33
share it on other social media sites, it wouldn't let you do that.
12:36
Twitter actually locked the New York Post's Twitter page.
12:39
It still is actually locked because they're demanding that Twitter take down these tweets.
12:44
But they're not saying it's because the tweets are incorrect or that they're spouting lies
12:49
or fake news.
12:51
That's not it.
12:52
They blocked Kayleigh McAlaney.
12:53
That's the Trump's press secretary.
12:57
They blocked her Twitter because she was talking about the story and trying to share the story.
13:01
Now Twitter was claiming that the story that the New York Post put out violated their
13:05
hacked materials policy, okay, which states this quote commentary on our discussion about
13:10
hacked materials such as articles that cover them, but do not include or link to the materials
13:14
themselves.
13:15
Unquote.
13:16
So Twitter is claiming that this was hacked material, but it wasn't hacked material.
13:21
It was openly on a laptop that was handed to a guy at a Mac shop.
13:26
This was a hacked.
13:28
But the funny thing about this and a lot of people have pointed this out, what about
13:31
WikiLeaks? I mean, Twitter has basically made WikiLeaks famous and spreading the things
13:39
that WikiLeaks, even the things that WikiLeaks lies about.
13:42
They put that out there.
13:43
That is clearly hacked material, but it doesn't somehow violate the hacked materials policy.
13:49
It's kind of weird.
13:51
And they went a little further.
13:52
They have other policies that say this.
13:53
It prohibits the use of our service to distribute distribute content obtained without authorization
13:59
because it said that they don't want to incentivize hacking by allowing Twitter to be used as
14:03
a distribution for possibly illegally obtained materials.
14:07
But that opens up a can of worms because you remember what two weeks ago when Trump's tax
14:11
returns were put out there, right?
14:14
You know, we've been waiting for four years about his tax returns and we get his tax returns
14:17
and we basically find out that he's in debt and he's not nearly as rich as everyone thought
14:20
he was, which I mean, if you didn't see that coming, I got a bridge in Brooklyn, I can
14:24
sell you.
14:25
At that point, it's like, do you think that was given with his authorization?
14:29
I happen to remember every blue checkmark Democrat on Twitter sharing that story around
14:34
that that was clearly content that was not authorized.
14:38
I mean, then just think about every other anonymously source news story, those which
14:44
are typically bad for people on the right.
14:46
You know, you think about this, you're not getting these anonymously source news stories
14:50
that make Joe Biden look bad.
14:52
It's just news stories, right?
14:54
But that's the thing that's so interesting about that is there's so much material that
14:58
is obtained quote unquote without authorization that never goes and hurts anybody, right?
15:04
According to them.
15:05
And so it's because it's people that are on behalf of the ideas that they like.
15:10
And so it's very interesting to me that a lot of people that find themselves that are
15:14
left of center, they don't really trust evil corporations like that, but they're all too
15:18
happy to watch Twitter and Facebook and Google basically throttle a story like this because
15:25
it helps someone that's on their side of the aisle.
15:28
That's kind of the main point.
15:30
And I think this brings up some of the conversation again about whether these social media sites
15:36
can continue to get along or get get away with pretending that they are a plot or a publisher
15:43
and are sorry, a platform and not a publisher, because again, as a platform, you're basically
15:47
saying, hey, you know, anyone can use our site for whatever reason.
15:50
And, you know, we're not liable for things that are set on the site, whereas a publisher
15:54
is liable.
15:55
If you're a news source and you publish something that is libelous, you could be sued for that.
15:59
And so this is bringing that up.
16:01
Twitter has kind of gone, gone back and they're trying to, you know, change some of their,
16:06
some of their regulations and they're saying, you know, Jack, the CEO, Twitter, Dr Dorsey
16:10
came out and he was like, yeah, you know, we didn't really handle that situation.
16:13
This is unacceptable.
16:14
But you know, it doesn't really seem like this has hurt anybody other than people that
16:18
are on the right.
16:19
Like this is hurting people.
16:20
This is like an in kind donation to the Joe Biden campaign because they've throttled this
16:24
story.
16:25
And it's just one of those things that it's, it's a very, very concerning situation because
16:30
social media is so important to everyone's lives.
16:33
And it is inculcated just about every square inch of real estate in people's brains.
16:39
But guys, this will be a little bit of a shorter podcast, but I do want to go into a few reasons
16:42
why this is a massive deal because some people, as soon as they started getting into the details
16:48
of this deal, they're like, oh man, it's like their head started to hurt.
16:50
It's like, I just can't, I can't focus long enough to even wrap my mind around what exactly
16:54
is happening.
16:55
They're like, I can't even spell barisma.
16:57
So why does this actually matter?
16:58
And I'm going to tell you why this matters.
17:00
Okay.
17:01
I'm going to give you four reasons.
17:02
Number one, the reason this is a massive deal is because of the opinion forming that
17:07
is going on.
17:08
These social media companies control the news, the air quotes, scare quotes, whatever quotes
17:14
news you consume.
17:16
Okay.
17:17
So they're also in control of the opinions that you choose because if you think about
17:24
it just generically, if you don't ever hear contrary opinions on a subject matter, you're
17:30
going to be more enticed to go with the other opinion.
17:34
So if you've only seen video, I always use this example, if you've only seen video of
17:38
LeBron James playing basketball, and someone asked you, who's greater LeBron James or Michael
17:42
Jordan, you might think that LeBron James is better because you don't know anything about
17:48
Michael Jordan.
17:49
You haven't seen anything about Michael Jordan, right?
17:51
So your opinion would be that LeBron James has clearly got to be the goat because this
17:55
MJ guy, he didn't have as many points or didn't have as many of this or that.
17:59
And you know, championships aren't that big a deal or something like that.
18:02
But that's the problem when you have a situation like what we're seeing here.
18:07
So back in 2018, the Pew Research Center did a study and they said about two thirds, a
18:12
little over two thirds, actually of adults, US adults get their news from social media
18:16
two thirds.
18:17
So about 43% of those people get it from Facebook, 21% of those people get it from YouTube, which
18:23
is again owned by Google and about 12% of those people get it from Twitter.
18:26
And I got to be honest, I get a lot of my news from Twitter, I at least get my start.
18:30
I get my breaking news from Twitter, right?
18:32
And then I start looking at other sources.
18:34
But the overwhelming majority of people are forming their opinions based on things that
18:38
they've read on social media.
18:40
And also they get their opinions based on the headlines of things that are posted from
18:44
social media.
18:46
Perhaps that's just a thing that's downstream of Twitter, you know, the 140 characters
18:49
now 280 characters, it's just you basically get the bite size nugget and you don't actually
18:55
click on the link for the article.
18:57
And then you might just read the lead of the article.
19:00
You might just read the first paragraph or two and buried in paragraphs 11 is the actual
19:05
truth of the article.
19:06
But again, you just read the headline.
19:07
So you never got there and you'll say it's because you don't have enough time or whatever
19:10
the thing the situation is there.
19:12
But at the same time, they're forming your opinions because these algorithms that are
19:18
showing you this this information or keeping information from you is helping to form your
19:23
opinion.
19:24
Like again, one of the things one of the subject matters that is throttled constantly on social
19:29
media is the truth about abortion.
19:32
The statistics around abortion, including why women get abortions, the overwhelming majority
19:37
of women aren't getting abortions because they were raped by an uncle, right?
19:41
They're not getting abortions because of some sort of incestuous thing, right?
19:45
It's overwhelmingly because of convenience because they just want to kill the baby, whatever the
19:49
situation is there.
19:50
But at the same time, you're not getting a lot of that's that subject matter.
19:55
You're not getting a lot of those facts.
19:56
You're not seeing a lot of pictures distributed across social media of dead babies of 25 week
20:02
old babies that are in pieces because they were sucked out piece by piece by an abortionist.
20:07
And so something like social media is framing the opinions of people by keeping that information
20:13
away from them, by making it harder to find in search terms, you know, people that were
20:18
trying to find more information like neutral, just straight up news information about the
20:22
Hunter Biden story, we're having trouble finding it on Google.
20:25
And you guys might be just like me, it's kind of hard for you to go past that first page
20:29
of Google.
20:30
It doesn't matter if you get 10 million, you know, potential pages that could help you
20:32
with your research, you know, you're going to read three, four, maybe five articles.
20:35
You're not even going to get to page two.
20:37
And so if the real information is on page three or four, you'll never get there.
20:41
And so again, this is a massive deal because these big tech companies are in charge of
20:46
forming opinions for people.
20:48
And the second reason why this is a massive deal is because this is clear election meddling.
20:54
This is so clearly election meddling because this is taking two weeks before the general
21:00
election.
21:02
That's why people have said that, you know, some people are like, this is a nine figure
21:05
contribution to the Joe Biden campaign.
21:07
Some people are saying that, which might be hyperbolic, but it's certainly worth millions
21:10
and millions of dollars because of the bad press that they're avoiding because we already
21:15
know the mainstream media, right?
21:17
So let's, let's look at big tech is over here, mainstream media is over here.
21:20
The mainstream media is not going to make the Joe Biden campaign answer to this at all.
21:24
We know that we have the last debate that's going to be happening, really the only the
21:29
second debate here on Thursday, and they've already changed the, the lineup of the questions.
21:34
Okay.
21:35
They were originally going to talk about foreign policy, which is a good thing for Donald Trump
21:39
because his foreign policy has frankly been pretty awesome.
21:41
But obviously if you're talking about foreign policy, you're going to have to ask Joe Biden
21:45
about his Ukrainian dealings and the stuff that went on with his son, Hunter Biden.
21:49
But they all of a sudden have changed it and that's no longer something that's going to
21:52
be discussed at the debate.
21:53
How interesting.
21:54
So we already know the mainstream media is in the bag for Joe Biden and all the Democrats,
21:58
but now you, you, you know that big tech is in there because if this was a horrifically
22:02
bad story about Eric Trump or Donald Trump, Jr. or a Milan, Melania or Ivanka or anyone
22:09
else in Trump's family and there were direct ties to corruption to Donald Trump, this would
22:13
be all anyone would be talking about.
22:16
Twitter would be putting it at the top of your feed.
22:19
Facebook would be increasing the number of shares, right?
22:23
All of those things would be going on to be on the first page on Google.
22:27
And so to say that this is a clear election meddling is to stick your head in the sand.
22:32
There's no way it's not.
22:33
And that should be concerning to you because these, these tech companies are overwhelmingly
22:39
left.
22:40
So, so again, obviously I'm, I'm more conservative.
22:42
I'm on the ride.
22:43
We've, we've all been through that.
22:44
But you would hope people at these companies would be a little bit closer to the center,
22:48
but it is overwhelmingly, especially if you look at the amount of money that they donate
22:52
to campaigns and donated to Joe Biden this year, donate, donated to Hillary Clinton four
22:56
years ago, they're overwhelmingly left leaning, overwhelmingly liberal.
23:01
And these are the people that are creating the algorithms.
23:03
See, because people, they say dumb things like, Hey, man, you know, the, the employees
23:07
didn't choose the stories.
23:08
It's the algorithm that chose a story that you saw.
23:10
Well, who programmed the algorithm dummy, like, what, what are you talking about?
23:16
Of course this matters because you're not programming something and it also becomes sentient, right?
23:22
You have to put the information in on the front end.
23:26
You're telling it what to learn, you're telling it what to listen to and that will obviously
23:30
be biased.
23:31
So something like this is incredibly damaging.
23:34
And if you want free and fair elections and a free and fair press, this is a massive massive
23:39
deal.
23:40
So opinion forming, election meddling, the third reason why this is a massive deal is
23:44
because of the quote unquote fact checkers.
23:47
So we've heard about this.
23:48
This was part of this story as well.
23:49
We're going to wait to see what the fact checkers have to say, but they always want
23:53
to say it's something like, you know, nonpartisan or bipartisan fact checkers or something like
23:58
that or moderate or neutral fact checkers.
24:00
Guys, there's no such thing.
24:03
There's no such thing.
24:05
Everyone has bias.
24:07
Everyone you have a bias towards this or that you prefer that over this.
24:12
That's how it goes.
24:14
And the interesting thing about these fact checkers is a lot of these people will have
24:17
like PolitiFact in their name, even though PolitiFact is a very left leaning organization.
24:22
But they have a really, really good name.
24:23
They're like, oh, where should I go for politics for fact checking and politics?
24:27
Oh, PolitiFacts.com, right?
24:29
That's great.
24:31
But the fact checkers are people that think just like the big tech companies.
24:36
So when Facebook does a fact check on hydroxychloroquine or on this COVID story or on this story about
24:42
Ukraine, that's there.
24:44
They're giving warm fuzzies to the people that already aligned with them.
24:49
And for dumb people, for dumb people that are like, well, I don't know if I believe
24:53
that's, oh, look, there's a stamp stamp right there says it's been fact check by third party
24:57
fact checker.
24:58
Guess I can believe this now.
25:01
And so that's the concerning thing is they're rewriting what truth is these, these organizations
25:07
that we've given so much of our lives and so much control over the things that we buy
25:10
and the things that we look at and the things that we think, frankly, and who we interact
25:14
with.
25:15
We're also, you know, outsourcing to them truth.
25:20
We want them to give us truth.
25:22
Why do you believe that story?
25:23
Because Facebook said it was true.
25:25
I'll know if you saw over the weekend, but the Joe Biden folks that actually went on the
25:28
news and had to answer questions about this.
25:30
They basically said, Hey, you know, Twitter said that it was, it was a false story.
25:34
So that's what we're going with what, wait, what Twitter, a social media site says that
25:41
the story that you have yet to deny is fake news, it's false or it's at least something
25:46
we're looking into and you're going off of that.
25:49
And there's no follow up question from the journalist.
25:54
So again, we're outsourcing truth to these people.
25:57
And that should be a very, very concerning thing to you.
26:00
But guys, all of this is leading somewhere.
26:03
And every time I do a podcast like this, it might seem like I'm ranting, it might seem
26:06
like, Oh, there's just a right wing conspiracy or whatever.
26:08
And I told you over and over, I'm not really a conspiracy guy, but I can kind of read the
26:12
tea leaves and see where things are going.
26:14
And you combine that with, you know, more of my pessimistic outlook on life in general.
26:19
This is kind of where you end up.
26:21
But I want you to remember me saying what I'm about to say as we move forward, especially
26:25
if we move forward into a Joe Biden, you know, Kamala Harris type of country, if the Senate
26:32
goes blue, you know, if things keep turning the way that they go.
26:36
So why this is massive deal is opinion forming election meddling fact checkers in this last
26:40
part here.
26:42
If they can censor the news, they will do the same with the gospel.
26:46
We say that again, if they can censor the news, they will do the same with the gospel.
26:54
Guys, we already live in one of the biggest power grabs we've ever experienced with COVID.
27:01
We've had your mayor, you know, your representative, your governor.
27:06
It is taking your rights away from you, not, not the things you like to do, your rights.
27:11
They're taking them away from you to keep you safe because big brother knows better, right?
27:18
Governor knows better, Senator knows better, right?
27:22
You don't actually need to do the thinking for yourselves.
27:25
You don't actually need to weigh the risk yourselves because we got you.
27:28
We understand this.
27:29
And one of the things that they attacked immediately are faith-based organizations.
27:35
John MacArthur is still basically in a staring contest with the state of California for keeping
27:41
his church open.
27:42
You know, you have the governor of Michigan over the weekend.
27:46
She was basically saying, Hey, if you want to get back to church, make sure that you
27:49
vote for Joe Biden, right?
27:51
She essentially just straight up said that that basically vote for Joe Biden.
27:55
And then I'll go ahead and relax all these, these draconian measures I've taken on the
27:59
state and its people.
28:00
Don't worry about it.
28:02
I'll, I'll let y'all go back to church, but just think about it.
28:06
Think about what I was talking about earlier because the pro life cause is obviously something
28:09
that agrees with the Judeo-Christian worldview, right?
28:13
Pro life in terms of abortion.
28:14
So you, you can't really be a Christian and be pro choice in any way, shape or form, right?
28:18
That just means you're not a Christian.
28:19
You don't actually believe in the tenants of the Bible.
28:21
You don't believe in the Mago day, right?
28:24
But the gospel is a message that is currently something that can be spread on Instagram.
28:30
You can, you can tweet about it, but the thing about it is, is if they're going to attack
28:34
your political opponents or, or sorry, you know, some of that you like politically, right?
28:40
If they're open to doing that type of a thing, then why wouldn't they throttle you trying
28:43
to share the news of the gospel?
28:45
The good news.
28:47
You know, why wouldn't they throttle when you share a link to invite people to come to church
28:53
online with you?
28:55
Why wouldn't they throttle if you use hashtag Jesus, Jesus saves?
29:00
Like why wouldn't they throttle that?
29:03
And at the end of the day, I've talked a lot about how churches and church leaders and
29:06
pastors specifically are impotent now that they don't, they're very effeminate.
29:10
They're not really guys that we want to really align with.
29:13
But again, at the end of the day, you show up in the church and you should probably hear
29:16
the gospel.
29:18
But we've church, attendance is declining and continues to decline as it does in the West,
29:23
which includes the United States.
29:25
For the West, where are people going to get the good news?
29:30
Because if they're not coming to church, are they getting it from you?
29:33
Maybe, hopefully, but we have to be concerned about what big tech is going to do about some
29:39
of this information because not only can they throttle news that they don't like, they can
29:43
elevate quote unquote news that they do like.
29:46
So they can elevate stories about how Jesus was, you know, a myth.
29:49
He wasn't even a real person.
29:50
He never actually lived, he's not even a historical person.
29:54
Those all of a sudden start showing up on the first page of Google results.
29:58
And again, I don't want this to come off seeming like some sort of a conspiracy thing.
30:03
But at the end of the day, you have to reckon with this and realize that this is a real
30:07
possibility.
30:08
And we've already seen pieces of this, right?
30:10
And we've already talked about, and you certainly know this, that we were not guaranteed
30:14
an easy road being a Christian.
30:17
We knew persecution was going to be coming our way.
30:19
But did most of you think it was going to happen from Facebook?
30:22
Because I remember being there when Facebook started, I remember kind of going around
30:26
and, you know, we're running into different rooms in the door and we're like, Oh my gosh,
30:29
I'm on Facebook now.
30:30
Oh, do you want to be my friend?
30:31
You want to be a friend?
30:32
I remember that.
30:33
It was such an innocent little thing.
30:34
And now it's everything.
30:36
It's your news.
30:37
It's your shopping cart.
30:39
It's your connection to your family.
30:43
I have family members that have only seen my son through Facebook.
30:47
They've never actually held him.
30:48
They've never actually seen him in person.
30:51
The social media sites have so much power and they've granted us so much power.
30:55
And if you're not on them, you're considered outside of society to a certain degree.
31:01
There's so much power with them and we have to maintain some semblance of control, not
31:07
only over our own lives, but over these organizations because they already know so much about us.
31:13
But again, the thing that's scariest to me, you know, obviously the opinion forming, the
31:17
election meddling, the fact checking, that's something that I can keep an eye on, right?
31:21
That's something that I can point out when I see it.
31:23
But it's coming for the gospel next, it's coming for the church.
31:27
It's coming for its leaders, it's coming for your family.
31:31
We have to be vigilant.
31:32
All right, guys, before we let you go, we are going to do a quick resilience boost.
31:36

31:47
So I had some guys share this with me, but it's called Facebook and Twitter, cross-aligned,
31:51
far more dangerous than what they censor.
31:53
And so this is a lengthy article, but it gets into the details, but also some opinions as
31:58
to why this was such a damaging thing that happened.
32:01
So I think it's an interesting read for you.
32:02
All right, guys.
