0:00 I'm your host Kyle Thompson.
0:14 Let's get into it.
0:15 All right guys, Friday, May 25th, 2018 is going to be a very, very dark day in the history
0:20 of the world because on that day, a majority Catholic country, Ireland voted to overturn
0:25 the country's 8th amendment, which banned abortion.
0:27 So now abortion is legal in the country of Ireland.
0:30 So this amendment had been part of Ireland's law since 1983.
0:35 And this amendment legally declared unborn babies to have the right to life.
0:39 So just to be important here in a distinction up from the very beginning, this didn't grant
0:44 a child's right to life.
0:46 It just acknowledged it, okay, because a child's right to life is given by God.
0:51 This was a law that just acknowledged it, okay.
0:54 And modern political terms, this was a landslide, okay.
0:57 As many predicted that it would be an amazing 66.4% of the people in Ireland voted to repeal
1:04 the 8th amendment with just 33.6 voting against according to the Guardian.
1:08 It was a record voter turnout.
1:10 So think about this just in modern voter turnout terms about 64.5% of the population of Ireland
1:17 that could vote did come out to vote for this.
1:19 So this had a lot of different breakdowns and different parts of Ireland.
1:25 The widest margin for the repeal was not surprisingly in the very liberal city of Dublin with only
1:30 one Irish voting district.
1:33 And that was Donnie Gull.
1:34 They voted in majority to not repeal the amendment, but it was only 52% voting not to repeal it
1:39 with 48% of the people saying to repeal it.
1:43 So according to the Guardian, Irish lawmakers will actually move quickly to approve the
1:47 legislation and allow abortions up to the 12th week of pregnancy with a third three day
1:52 waiting period prior to the operation.
1:54 And the Guardian also reported this.
1:57 I'll just read the quote here between 12 and 24 weeks abortion will be available only in
2:01 cases of fatal fetal abnormality, a risk to a woman's life or a risk of serious harm
2:06 to the health of the mother.
2:08 After 24 weeks termination will be possible in cases of fatal fetal abnormality.
2:13 There will be provision for conscientious objection among medical practitioners, although
2:17 doctors will be obliged to transfer care of the pregnant woman to another doctor.
2:23 So I guess if you're an Irish doctor and you don't want to do it, you can just put the
2:26 blood on someone else's hands.
2:27 That's great.
2:28 So this repeal leaves Malta as the only European country with a ban on abortion and Ireland's
2:34 Progressive Prime Minister Leo Veradcar.
2:36 He tweeted this after it came down that this was going to be repealed.
2:41 It crowds at Dublin Castle, remarkable day.
2:43 A quiet revolution has taken place, a great act of democracy.
2:48 I mean, I just think it's awesome that, you know, in 2018, we are so advanced as a people
2:53 group that we can just call it a quiet revolution and a great act of democracy whenever we can
2:59 make an entire country that has basically protected the sanctity of human life in the
3:03 womb.
3:04 And now we can just celebrate this as some sort of a major accomplishment.
3:07 That's just so great of us to be able to do that.
3:09 Now, I want to point out a few things here.
3:12 There were some articles that were floating around leading up to this because it became
3:16 pretty apparent early on that all the predictions were that this was going to be fairly pretty
3:20 much a landslide.
3:21 There was no one that was thinking that this wasn't going to pass, but I think the Daily
3:24 Wire did a really good job of kind of summarizing some of the things.
3:28 This was before the vote, but some of the things that were going on that kind of led
3:32 to this thought that it was going to be an overwhelming victory.
3:34 So the first thing that they pointed out is that, you know, this likely would have passed
3:38 regardless, but the abortion advocates were very dishonest leading up to this vote.
3:42 So I'm going to read what they said here.
3:44 Pro-lifers have been advertising using Down syndrome children pointing out correctly the
3:48 eugenics driven campaign to annihilate Down syndrome children from the population via abortion.
3:53 This drove Irish Prime Minister Lee over rad car to condemn pro-lifers.
3:57 As the father of a child with Down syndrome, I'm opposed to the propagandistic use of
4:01 children like my son in attempts to limit reproductive rights.
4:06 That has happened in the Irish debate as well as in the legislative actions taking in various
4:10 American states to outlaw the abortion of fetuses with Down syndrome.
4:15 So in other words, pay no attention to the fact that people are systematically eliminating
4:19 children with Down syndrome from the population, mentioning that is inconvenient.
4:23 The second thing they pointed out is that the pro-abortion outlets censored pro-life messages.
4:28 So this is incredibly nefarious and this should be very concerning to us even in this country.
4:33 So I'll read what they wrote here.
4:35 According to the Washington Post, Facebook announced Tuesday that it would stop accepting
4:38 related advertisements from groups based outside of Ireland.
4:42 The restriction testifies to the depths of concern that foreign advertising could skew
4:46 the outcome.
4:47 As Life News reported, the post mentioned only pro-life groups, pro-life groups including
4:52 the pro-life campaign, the Save the Eighth group, and the Iona Institute complained about
4:57 the censorship.
4:58 According to the UK spectator, posters of unborn children have been torn down around
5:03 Ireland.
5:04 The third thing that the Daily Wire points out is that the new legislation goes beyond
5:08 12 weeks.
5:09 Now, guys, this is incredibly important because this is not being reported.
5:14 So if you go to BBC News, if you go to ABC, CNN, Fox News, it does not matter where you're
5:18 getting this.
5:19 They are not reporting this, but this is absolutely factual.
5:21 So listen here.
5:22 While the government says that its proposal would legalize abortion until 12 weeks, it
5:27 would in fact legalize it up to 23 weeks.
5:30 All you require is two doctors saying that the pregnancy would harm the mental health
5:34 or physical health of the woman.
5:37 That's an exception big enough to drive a truck through.
5:39 So guys, let's go back here.
5:41 If you can get two doctors in Ireland to say that this pregnancy would harm you in some
5:47 way mentally or in some way physically, you can have an abortion between 12 and 24 weeks.
5:54 Just think about that.
5:55 I mean, the standard, the bar had been set so incredibly low that we can essentially
6:01 say unequivocally that abortions in Ireland are now legalized up to 24 weeks.
6:05 Okay.
6:06 Let's just be real about that.
6:07 And the last thing that the Daily Wire pointed out was something fairly astounding, which
6:12 was basically that the Catholic Church was silent.
6:14 Again, this is a majority Irish Catholic community in Ireland.
6:19 I mean, it's a very, very Catholic country.
6:21 And so this is what they reported here.
6:23 The spectator has asked rightly why the Catholic Church, which holds an immense amount of sway
6:27 in Ireland has gone largely silent.
6:31 Here's Melanie McDonough.
6:32 The Catholic Church is absent from the fight to an extent that would have been hard to
6:36 imagine in 1983, though it has made clear its support for keeping the amendment as indeed
6:42 have the leaders of the Protestant churches.
6:44 And that's reflective of the condition of the church in the wake of successive abuse
6:48 scandals.
6:49 The church has a chastened position in Irish society, says Father Patrick Clafey, who has
6:53 a central Dublin parish.
6:55 The feeling is, let lay people do the speaking.
6:58 They have the expertise and they're doing it very well.
7:01 It appears that in Ireland, unborn children are about to lose their rights as Western civilization
7:06 becomes more sophisticated.
7:08 It seems its treatment of the unborn becomes more barbaric.
7:12 So I thought that the Daily Wire again did a great job of summarizing all those things.
7:15 But I want to come in here a little bit and just talk about why this should concern us.
7:20 So again, this is a mainly majority male population listening to this podcast.
7:24 A lot of Christian males listening here.
7:26 So I want you all to listen up because here are some things that I've kind of put together
7:29 that really concern me as soon as I realize that this was definitely going to pass and
7:33 then when the news hit that it did indeed pass the repeal, that is.
7:37 The first thing is that morality can shift in a very short period of time.
7:42 Okay, so again, in 1983, this amendment was passed with 66.9% of the vote from the Irish
7:50 people.
7:51 Okay, so for most of us listening in our lifetime, this amendment was passed with 66.9% of the
7:57 vote.
7:58 On Friday, this amendment was repealed with 66.4% of the vote.
8:04 I mean, think about that.
8:06 That is an over 30 point swing in just over 30 years.
8:09 I mean, that is not an incredibly long period of time and this isn't like, okay, you know,
8:15 we went from bell bottoms to skinny jeans.
8:17 This isn't like something like that.
8:18 This is something that's incredibly, incredibly important.
8:20 Yeah, I mean, look at what's even happened in the 2000s.
8:24 Look at what happened with gay marriage in 2008 people don't they really like to just
8:28 pretend like this never happened, especially people that are on the democratic left, but
8:32 in 2008 for the presidential election on the democratic side of the aisle, every single
8:37 major candidate for the Democrats running for president was against same sex marriage.
8:43 Every single one of them, including Barack Obama, including Hillary Clinton, including
8:47 Joe Biden.
8:48 They were all against same sex marriage, but then within the Obama administration, within
8:53 that run, all of a sudden, if you were a Democrat and you were against the normal biblical definition
9:00 of marriage, then you're pretty much not a Democrat, right?
9:04 So just think about that, morality can shift so quickly, right?
9:08 And even in relative terms, so that should really concern us.
9:11 The second thing is secularism has no boundaries, guys.
9:15 No boundaries whatsoever.
9:16 Okay.
9:17 So secularism is a worldview with its feet planted firmly in midair, right?
9:21 It has no governing ethic, no morality again, secularism comes from the view that that basically
9:27 God is not here.
9:28 There is no God.
9:29 We are all highly evolved monkeys that wear pants and we're just going to try to do the
9:33 most amount of good for the most amount of people.
9:36 But we can't even define what good is, right?
9:39 So secularism is going to continue to infiltrate different parts of society.
9:43 But what's interesting here is in the United States, you know, abortion has been a part
9:48 of American life and American thinking since Roe v. Wade, it's been decades and decades
9:53 and decades.
9:54 Ireland has not had to deal with this.
9:55 Now back in 1992, they passed a couple of amendments.
9:58 I think it was the 13th and the 14th amendment that allowed Irish people to go outside the
10:03 country to attain abortions, which was just kind of a really weird thing.
10:06 It was like, okay, we're not really going to deal with the abortion issue because, you
10:10 know, everyone still thinks that it's wrong and still thinks that it's murdered.
10:13 But if you want to go on vacation, a medical vacation and basically kill your baby, you
10:17 can totally do that kind of a weird law.
10:19 But you know, to digress just a little bit, the secularism of modern culture has caused
10:23 us to happen even in a country that is grounded so much in Catholic thinking, right?
10:27 So much in Christian thinking that this could, this could happen.
10:31 So the appropriate question here is what will be next?
10:33 Like, that's not an alarmist point of view.
10:36 What will be next?
10:37 Because something's coming.
10:38 I mean, all over Europe, we still have all these, you know, different eugenics movements.
10:43 You know, the country of Iceland is celebrating the fact that it is pretty much eradicated
10:48 Down syndrome from its country.
10:49 So when you read that headline, you're like, wow, that's awesome.
10:52 Except when you realize that they just abort every baby in the womb that has Down syndrome.
10:56 Like, that's one way to get rid of Down syndrome.
10:58 Sure.
10:59 They're every baby that has it, right?
11:01 As if they have no right to life.
11:03 It's just crazy.
11:04 You've got to realize that secularism does not have boundaries, guys, it doesn't play
11:07 by the rules.
11:08 All right.
11:09 The third thing that should concern us is that tradition is helpless to stem this tide.
11:14 Tradition is completely helpless.
11:16 Think about the Catholic church.
11:18 Like what on the planet has more tradition surrounding it than the Catholic church?
11:23 Like, it's, it's one of the most traditional entities on the planet.
11:27 They sat by and did nothing, right?
11:30 And so basically the Catholic church has basically been cowed out and, you know, basically they're
11:35 walking around with their tails tucked between their legs because when, you know, you rape
11:39 and assault boys for so long and as an entity, you hide that for so long.
11:45 You've lost the moral high ground and in no way don't misunderstand what I'm saying that
11:49 I'm trying to say that this is somehow bad.
11:52 They deserve every lump that they're taking for this, right?
11:55 Every single lump that they're taking for what they did to systemically and systematically
12:00 allow for the abuse of children, right?
12:03 That's one of the most important things that you could possibly think of, but that does
12:07 not mean that the Catholic church is suddenly a tiger without fangs.
12:11 That, I mean, just think about that like this is still a powerful group that could be fighting
12:17 for truth, but they think, Oh, you know, we, we've kind of were not on the moral high ground
12:22 anymore.
12:23 You're going to have an intern to this fight really, really, I mean, come on.
12:28 Everyone knows what you did.
12:29 Everyone knows it was wrong, but to now, you know, double down and not fight for the unborn
12:35 in a country that there's a lot of people that have, you know, that you have their ear
12:40 and you can have influence over to just basically sit there and be like, no, we'll just kind
12:44 of see what the people of Ireland do.
12:46 That is not your place Catholic church.
12:48 Yeah, I'm calling you out.
12:49 That is not your right to do that.
12:52 You have to defend the unborn.
12:54 You have to defend the definition of life.
12:56 You have to be able to do that.
12:58 So so many people were thinking that tradition was just never going to allow something like
13:01 this to happen in Ireland.
13:03 Tradition is only as important as it's viewed at the time that it's being viewed, right?
13:09 So if you're part of a tradition from a college of some kind and they've done it this way
13:13 for the last 100 years, it only matters what happens this year.
13:17 So if they get rid of the tradition, the tradition goes away.
13:19 It's no longer a tradition.
13:22 So traditionally, the Irish people would not allow the murder of babies in the womb.
13:28 But today, that's not the case.
13:31 So some of us are liking.
13:32 We like the idea that we can just hide behind our traditions and hide behind our values
13:36 and hide behind the way things used to be.
13:38 And you know, we just think about those types of things, wake up guys, because that's not
13:42 real.
13:43 That's not real life.
13:44 Tradition makes no difference, okay?
13:48 And the last thing I want to point out to us guys is that we are not helpless in this
13:52 fight, okay?
13:54 We are not helpless, okay?
13:57 Here's the thing, most people just want to throw up their hands and say, well, I guess
14:01 God is just going to have to take care of it.
14:04 And so I'm going to be, I guess, you know, tip towing the line of heresy and sacrilege
14:07 here.
14:08 But hopefully you kind of know where I'm coming from.
14:09 If you listen to me for long enough, you probably know exactly where I'm going.
14:13 But let's be real here.
14:15 God is in complete control, complete control overall, right?
14:21 Complete control.
14:22 Got it?
14:23 But we are not automatons.
14:25 We are not robots.
14:27 We can have a huge impact here.
14:30 In order to give us the ability to love, God granted us the ability to have free will.
14:35 I don't care what Sam Harris says, free will is an actual thing.
14:38 We can make a choice.
14:39 We live in a post Genesis three broken world and we have choice.
14:43 We have impact and God can assist us.
14:47 God's judgment is over all of this, right?
14:50 So I mean, they're, I read an article this week about an abortion provider, an individual
14:55 doctor that had performed over 75,000 abortions and now is pro life, right?
15:02 Think about that guy's transition, but he's got judgment coming.
15:05 He's going to have to answer for that.
15:07 And I don't know if this guy's a Christian.
15:08 If he's asked for forgiveness for, you know, 75,000 murders that he individually did with
15:12 his own two hands, but guys, we can have an impact.
15:16 And part of that is just you start with having your crap together.
15:19 I mean, just think about how many of you guys knew that this vote was even happening, right?
15:24 I mean, this episodes being released on a Saturday, I normally release episodes every
15:28 Thursday morning.
15:29 So I did this because I want you guys to know that this went down within the last 24 hours.
15:33 If you're listening to this, you know, live whenever I release it within the last 24 hours,
15:37 the world changed guys, like an entire country, like the country of my ancestry.
15:44 That's why this hurts even more.
15:45 I'm an Irish person.
15:47 I have so much Irish blood running through my veins.
15:49 The country of my ancestry and my forefathers made this horrific decision.
15:54 Did you even know it was happening?
15:56 Did you know it was coming?
15:59 Like you got to stay up on these things.
16:00 And I'm going to encourage all of you.
16:02 Listen to episode six of this podcast.
16:05 So I'm not going to provide the link for you down in the description because if you're
16:08 listening to this, you can just scroll back up on your Apple podcast or your Google play
16:13 or sound cloud or wherever you're listening to this and go back to episode six.
16:17 If you skipped it, because one thing that's interesting about that episode is the plays
16:21 are a little bit lower than some of the other episodes that are just around it because I
16:25 know this is a hard subject, right?
16:27 And you can't assume that if you listen to me and my other podcast that I'm not going
16:30 to go into it the way that I've gone into it, right?
16:33 You've got to be able to understand what is actually happening.
16:36 And I'll give you a little rundown, just some of the things that you'll hear on that podcast,
16:40 but it's important for you to hear it again because you can't hear it enough.
16:43 It's got to be ingrained in you.
16:45 Science says that life begins at conception when the sperm meets the egg.
16:49 That's what science says, right?
16:50 All these people that want to depend on science and then basically argue against its findings,
16:54 right?
16:55 Abortion is not health care.
16:56 It is not health care.
16:58 It ends with something dying and that something is a person.
17:01 There's no mystery as to what's growing inside a woman.
17:05 Like we're not surprised when at birth it's a baby and not a ficus or a zebra.
17:10 We're not surprised.
17:11 It's a baby in there.
17:12 What's growing inside of a woman's stomach is not is not that woman.
17:16 That's another thing we got to realize.
17:17 You know, it's my body, my choice.
17:19 That's like the favorite banner for pro abortion people, pro murder people.
17:22 What's growing inside of that woman is not the woman.
17:25 Here's some other things.
17:26 At eight weeks, at eight weeks, all of the organs are present and functioning with that
17:31 baby.
17:32 All of the organs are present and functioning.
17:34 And here is the most important stat that if you get into an argument with someone that's
17:38 pro murder, this is what you throw at them.
17:40 At eight weeks, the baby feels pain.
17:42 At eight weeks, the baby feels pain.
17:45 It will recoil from pain.
17:48 So again, go back to episode six of this podcast.
17:51 I go through in-depth descriptions of different types of abortions that take place, okay?
17:57 They're horrific and graphic and I made it that way on purpose.
18:02 And I'm just basically reading from medical periodicals, okay?
18:05 These are not things where I'm adding to the grotesque and barbaric nature of what's happening.
18:10 I'm just describing it in full and in detail.
18:13 So if at eight weeks, a baby feels pain and you get an abortion in at week 12, the baby
18:18 can feel itself being ripped to pieces, guys.
18:21 That's real life, okay?
18:22 I know some of y'all like to just, you know, I don't really want to ruffle any feathers
18:26 and I don't want to really get in an argument with, you know, pro-choice friends because
18:31 they seem really loud and they seem like they know they got all their crap together.
18:35 Stop being a pussy.
18:36 Stop.
18:37 Like you have to enter those, enter into those moments, right?
18:40 That doesn't mean be a dick.
18:41 That doesn't mean go out and like try to make everybody angry on Facebook and, you know,
18:45 get on everybody's Instagram and post all these terrible comments.
18:48 But we got to be real guys.
18:50 It starts with us.
18:51 Like, how do we expect this to change?
18:52 Because in the United States, I think that we will see a reckoning here.
18:56 40 plus years and millions of children murdered later, there are things that are changing
19:01 in the minds of women.
19:04 Women that can actually see like a 3D or a 4D ultrasound of what their baby actually
19:08 looks like in their stomach, they didn't have that during Roe v. Wade.
19:12 Their stomachs were just getting bigger.
19:13 They had an idea of what was happening in there, but they couldn't see it.
19:16 Now that they can see it, they can see that it's a life.
19:18 It's a person in there, okay?
19:21 So for us guys, we are not helpless.
19:23 I'm so tired of watching these guys get fired up about their, you know, college football
19:27 team that didn't get the defensive lineman that they thought they were going to get or
19:31 getting fired up that their team didn't make the playoffs or getting fired up that, you
19:34 know, they, their wheels on their new truck didn't come in on time and they just get fired
19:38 up over nothing over nothing.
19:41 This is real life guys.
19:43 Like just stop with all the crap that you're like, that doesn't matter.
19:47 This matters so much.
19:49 These are people that have the amago day written on them.
19:53 The image of God is on these people.
19:55 Who cares about your fantasy football team?
19:57 Who cares about all this other stuff that you care about?
20:00 It's fun and it's a hobby and I get it.
20:01 This is real.
20:02 This is a fight.
20:03 Get into the fight.
20:05 Do something.
20:07 Like get on Google and figure out something that you can do.
20:10 Like volunteer with the, with pro life entities where you can help these women, you know,
20:17 donate money, donate your time, donate your ability to be a man here.
20:21 Okay.
20:22 Don't just shirt the responsibility and give it off to somebody else.
20:23 All right.
20:24 I know I'm getting fired up, but guys, I just don't understand when I talk to dudes and
20:28 they don't lay, there's kind of, you know, whatever it is, what it is, it's not it is
20:31 what it is.
20:32 All right.
20:33 You wouldn't say that about somebody murdering your family.
20:35 You wouldn't do that.
20:36 You wouldn't just come in and be like, Oh, well, I guess someone's just going to rape
20:39 and kill my wife.
20:40 It is what it is.
20:41 No, you would fight to protect her.
20:43 At least I would hope so.
20:44 So why don't we get in and do the same thing for these kids, right?
20:48 So guys, I know this was just a quick little podcast.
20:51 This was, you know, one that I just wanted to come in and throw out there for you guys.
20:54 You got to stay up on things guys.
20:55 And so the quick resilience boost for today, just go back and listen to episode six of this.
21:00 Just go back and listen to that one.
21:01 Okay.
21:02 If you listen to it before, listen to it again, because if you don't know all the things that
21:05 are happening in there by heart, then someone's going to be able to trip you up in a debate.
21:09 They're going to throw out some stupid bumper sticker thing that they heard from some Planned
21:13 Hood conference or something like that, and then you're going to be like, "Okay, I guess
21:17 that makes sense.
21:18 Okay.
21:19 That's not the way to do it.
21:20 All right, guys.
21:21 So we're not doing the normal outro on this podcast.
21:22 You guys know the drill about following us and subscribing and all that different stuff.
21:26 But I really want you guys to think about this.
21:27 I want this to settle with you a little bit.
21:29 All right.
21:30 So remember when we did the episode about Alfie Evans, like that's something that you need
21:32 to ponder, that you need to settle on.
21:34 So no outro music, none of that stuff.
21:36 Just really think about what you can be doing here and we'll come back here later on this
21:39 week with another episode.
21:40 All right, guys, keep seeking the line of Judah.
